First time here and it was a delight! I found 3 new types of ginger beer and a plethora of other items I didn't know I needed until I saw them. I'll be back for sure!

I finally visited this shop yesterday and, indeed, found fine foods galore! They had upbeat, jazzy holiday tunes playing and there were plenty friendly staff members around to answer questions. I felt like I was gently being taken care of whenever one of the staff asked whether I was still doing okay as I browsed through the entire store, and then returned to re-visit certain sections of the store. The fine chocolates they offer range from confections to premium chocolate bars from makers around this country, to gorgeously decorated single truffles displayed in a well-lit glass case to various sized decorator tins of fine Parisian chocolates/truffles (Louis-Sherry, anyone?). They also offer various brands of single-serve chocolate confections, such as the local brand, B.T. McElrath. You'll also find various cocoa powders, hot cocoa mixes (along with Chicago-made, with no corn syrup, marshmallows in various flavors), chocolate chips, and chocolate frosting and chocolate cake mixes. They sell Hammond's brand fruit flavored hard candies and peppermints, and different flavored gummies in nice packaging. They sell a variety of individual greeting cards and some boxed/packaged holiday ones. You'll see various baking ware pieces, cooking & baking ingredients (Are you in the market for some "vanilla powder" to use in your own homemade hot cocoa mix? Be forewarned, it's not cheap, although I'm sure it'll be an amazing addition to your mix). They've got those multi-colored paper liners for baking cupcakes. They sell the Burlap and Barrel spices and seasonings - a jar of Ras el Hanout, anyone? If you're not familiar with it, just buy some and experiment with it! It's a wonderful mixture of flavors to enhance so many different things. They sell native hand-harvested wild rice in 1# packages as well as the cultivated stuff. Cookbooks. Some hand-made ceramics. Incense to burn, including sage bundles. Beeswax candles. There are various crackers and cookies available, as well as Whole Grain Milling Company brand of tortilla chips, and specialty potato chips. They sell both popping corns and some gourmet popped corns, including a popcorn-nut confection by that fine Parisian chocolatier, Louis-Sherry. You can buy various nuts and "honey spoons". There are Jakeenos pizzas and Mucci's Veggie Lasagna in their freezer as well as ground beef, bison and chicken, and pre-made individual pie crusts from Vikings & Goddesses Pie Company (the same maker of the single slices of pies available in their cooler). In their refrigerator, they offer a variety of cheeses, half gallons of fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juices, a few pre-made soups, veggie potpies to bring home and bake, glass bottled milk/cream, large tubs of plain Bellwether Farms yogurt, amongst other things. They also sell some fresh produce - chestnuts for roasting on an open fire, anyone? They also sell dog and cat treats, natural body soaps, lotions and salves, natural laundry soaps along with those wool dryer balls, and natural soaps to (I presume) fill your own containers and make your own cleaning products.Given the smaller space of the store, you'll need to be cool with sharing the space available, and also be courteous in yielding to others' presence and passing by. Aside from that, just go - enjoy yourself!

Normally I would say this shop is a gem of gems. After today, I do not know if I will return. My parents are in from out of town and I thought this would be a nice place for them to come and check out. From the moment we walked in and they "demanded rudely " that we have masks even though we have all been vaccinated. Ok I can maybe let that slide a little... however.... I, and MY 70+ year old parents DO NOT NEED EMPLOYEES watching our every move‼ my mother is a true old school foodie and I am a French trained chef and certified cheese monger. Needless to say we both know food and really enjoy looking and talking about products and ideas how to use them. However after this abrasive insult to try and shop and possible buy products. I am saddened to say with the holidays around the corner I probably will not return to purchase items for myself, or gifts. With brick and mortar shops becoming yesteryear's- customer service is what will save you. The service we received today made me feel ashamed I brought my out of town guess in there.I won't make that mistake again.

Very nice little shop in the heart of Grand Ave. You walk in and are greeted with a lot of smells and cute trinkets. They have a fridge and small produce section on the left side of the store with some artesian cheeses and organic fruits. They even had a few samples. Their meat freezer is so amazing! Lots of local stuff. The other side of the building houses a lot of chocolate along with tons of sugars and spices. The very back has a wellness section with soaps and container-free shampoo options. A little pricey for me, but a very nice and cute place to see.

This little shop is brimming with fine foods and specialty items of all kinds. They have sweet treats, dry goods, bath and body items, and even frozen and refrigerated foods. The staff was friendly but allowed me to browse without checking in too often. I was impressed by the selection of specialty chocolate bars, but only then to be disappointed that nearly all of them had add ins and could not easily find more plain single origin chocolate to allow tasting of the cacao. The cheese section was very small and all pre cut and sealed options. Seems like a great place to buy gifts! It is located close to bus stops, too.

Every neighborhood in the US deserves to have a Golden Fig. I had the pleasure of living above this store for a few years and found a quick trip to Golden Fig could make any meal or evening special. Fresh bread, flowers and beautiful selection of thoughtfully curated luxuries. Lovely staff and atmosphere.

We stumbled upon Golden Fig while waiting for a table at Red Rabbit. Tons of amazing specialty food items from around the country - pimento popcorn from Asheville, NC, apple cider caramels from Vermont and local dried apple slices. Great place for gifts or options to keep around the house. They also had a small produce selection and meats.

Was walking around on Grand Ave today and walked in planning to just look around and am so glad we did! There were so many neat specialty items (chocolates, sauces, drink mixes, spices, fill your own detergents, etc) and I ended up buying some chocolates and cocktail mixes as presents. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I usually write restaurant reviews and don't usually write store reviews, but I had such a positive experience that I had to leave one.

In my opinion this is the quintessential MN store. They carry a lot of local products both food and gifts. The Golden Fig has been one of our favorite stops for years although this latest trip was really exciting. A couple of years ago we attended GrillFest and CHS Field. We picked up the best Worcestershire sauce I have ever had. Yes maybe a little OCD because we're talking Worcestershire sauce, but I am telling you this was unlike any Worcestershire sauce I have ever had. Sadly we used our last bottle (we bought 3 of them). This company is located near Milwaukee, WI which was too far to drive to pick up a bottle of w-sauce. Although I did consider it. Checking the company website it appeared they sold their product in a few local locations. Well you know how that goes. So I contacted the Golden Fig through their website. Lori responded to me within a few hours stating that yes they did indeed carry it. We stopped in the next day and picked up a few more bottles along with some other goodies. We also picked up some hot sauce and other goodies while we were there. Extra thanks to the young lady who helped us. We were trying to decide between this vanilla raspberry popcorn or a dark chocolate popcorn. She opened up a bag of each so we could sample them. We selected the raspberry but should have picked them both. That Worcestershire sauce is by Colonel Pabst. Way better than any Worcestershire sauce on the market. We'll certainly be back again when we need more Worcestershire sauce as well as other goodies as there are so many other items we would like to get.
