Golden Dragon

Hear me out: I'm from New Jersey, with a high standard for Chinese American food.Golden Dragon is very good in comparison. The staff here have been a significant part of the Waconia community for nearly 20 years and deserve all the praise.

I went here for the first time in a long time last night and had the dinner buffet. I was pleasantly surprised. My daughter and I waited unserved at Agave for 30 minutes, so by the time we arrived we were quite hungry. We were so happy to find all the entrees already available. The egg drop soup, the salmon, the chicken, and the pork fried rice were all great. My very picky daughter tried several items she has never had before and commented how good the whole restaurant smells. The buffet service was excellent. We are excited to return.

The house soup is pretty amazing! The hospitality is always clean and friendly, and they continually refill the buffet as well!

This review is for their take out menu. First off. Don't be put off by the fact it's a also a Chinese Buffet, I grabbed the take out menu and was pleasantly surprised with the selection and variety as opposed to our other choices for Chinese take out. The 2 of us grew up on NYC Chinese and so far this is the closest we've come to that good authentic taste. The portions are not skimpy, everything is fresh to order and comes out of the kitchen piping hot. The only reason it's a 4 star from us is the distance since we live in a TINY town but the 20+ minutes is worth it!

A OK experience. Ordering takeout for the family. In the time it took me to take the kids through the Carwash, they prepared enough to feed a family of 4 ( entree, white Rice, & lo mein). Nice that they have a alternative to their orange chicken; it's slightly spicy, but the sesame chicken is legit & is great if your kids can't handle any spice at all. Not too much difference in flavors, the flavors are very basic as far as Chinese food goes. But service & pricing are fare. Only option though for the Waconia Community; a legit Chinese food joint would actually crush this place as there would be No competition. Cheers*

Been a while since we visited - my experience when I ordered a carry out. Great taste and flavor, hot, large quantity and best value for Chinese food I have found in quite sometime . . .

As far as Asian buffets go, this is on the lower end of the spectrum but is not horrible if you need a fix. Parking is ample as this location is in a mini mall with a grocery store. Pretty basic setting as you enter and are greeted by friendly (usually) staff. Basic decor, tables, and booths. The food is somewhat limited as it's not too big of a space. The basics are there including a couple types of sushi rolls. However, the sushi rolls have been dry and quite evident that they are left over. The food is sometimes warm at best if not cold. But like with any buffet, it matters when you get there (I know, it shouldn't, but it does). I have never ordered off the menu or taken take-out, so I have not input on those options.

If you want reasonably priced Chinese food this is the place for you. It's nothing fancy but good. We had the buffet today and it was pretty good. Our fist buffet since the start of Covid. The food was all hot and they were always replacing to new food. It was busy but it kept the buffet hot. The workers are all very nice. We have hade the take out from here many times and it is always good and have never had any problems with any of it!

Food was delicious and hots were hot and colds were cold...awesome salad bar with lots of fresh cut fruit. Eat three plate full.... still under $15

My wife, daughter and I had lunch there. The buffet was fresh and well stocked. We really enjoyed the food.
