Giovanni’s Italian Ristorante

Service was great the whole time we were there, prompt, smiles and kept checking on us.We went for just apps to give the place a try. The menu looked fun, on line. When we arrived we were seated quickly at a nice table in a themed Italian space.We had the Calamari, an the Escargot. And finished with a piece of their homemade Tiramisu.All were very tasty: Calamari was a crispy, well flavored rings (darn I like the little squid) with a good sauce. The Escargot were plump and the garlic butter they came with was delicious, used the bread (very nice Baguette) to sop it up an hold an Escargot! A finished with the Tiramisu which was everything a good homemade desert should be !The only suggestion would be to up the presentation on the plate of both of the dish's; the calamari and the escargot But had nothing to do with taste, which was excellent.

We wanted to try Giovanni's since it opened, and finally had a chance to head over with the family. The service was very good. The waiter and bus staff were great at getting our requests and being prompt with everything. The food was great & good. All of the food was served fresh and hot as it should be. They have a great house Chianti that is reasonably priced by the bottle. The filet special was out of this world awesome. Cooked perfectly medium rare, the cut was top shelf and flavor was incredible. The whole dish was excellent with the mushroom red wine reduction on top providing that blast of flavors that complemented a filet. I may get this every time if they continue to have it on the menu.The fettuccine alfredo was good. The pasta was home-made and cooked perfectly. The sauce was a bit bland and was missing something. Maybe some more parmesan, maybe just salt, not sure but while it was good, it lacked the big creamy flavor that alfredo should have. Chicken was very good, grilled and tender. So this one was "Good"The seafood special was another "Good" one. The shirimp was done perfectly but the rest of the seafood was maybe just a touch overcooked. The sauce was a cream sauce but like the alfredo it lacked just a bit of flavor that would have made it a superb meal. Many guests will love that we have a very good Italian place again in North Hudson as it's part of the heritage of the community. We will go back for sure!! CM

Food was fantastic, very rich in flavor and great portions for the price. Service was very friendly and helpful as well! 10/10 would recommend.

Real deal Italian! We had the calamari fritti for an appetizer. For entrees, we had the manicotti alla fiorentina and spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was delicious. It is worth giving Giovanni's a try. Great service and ambiance.

Delicious food and wonderful service was enjoyed by our party of 15 (including 3 young children - we so appreciated the cook accommodating their 'special' request!). The seafood special was an option that was enjoyed by several, along with pizza, ravioli, chicken champaign (light and flavorful with just the right amount of lemon), lasagna and penne alla romana con funghi (a wonderful blend of flavors). A sampling of desserts included the canoli, tiramisu and lemon mascarpone - each thoroughly enjoyed!

We went to try out this restaurant on our anniversary. Very nice Italian decor. We were seated quickly and our waitress was excellent. Appetizer (chicken wings) were really good, Italian bread and flavored butter were very good also. Lasagna was excellent. I ordered the Fettucinne Alfredo with shrimp. The shrimp was quite tasty but the cream sauce on the fettuccine was tasteless. I added salt and pepper which helped only minimally. Overall it was a good experience.

My wife and I ate there Friday afternoon. Wow! Great food! Great service! I had the Scaloppine al la Picatta with a side of Calamari and my wife had the daily special, "Crab Cake with pasta" and a side of cream of shrimp/crab soup. Both outstanding. The crab cakes need to be on the regular menu. The gravy for the crab cake was amazing! I wanted a bowl of it. The tomato sauce on the pasta was the best I ever had. I like spice to my food, and the sauce was just right. I had to close mine with a nice cannoli. Yes, a little pricey, but we are placing this on our Once a Month List.

. The food they got right was good. We had an order that never came and even after a second try. Service was poor and very unorganized. Very disappointing and poor customer experience

Food was salty and garlicky small portions and I think they need to revamp their tiramisu. Pretty sure they forgot the espresso in the tiramisu. Service was less than mediocre. Admin fee?Overall unsatisfied with food service and price.

Very nice atmosphere with soft music to set the mood. Quality of food was excellent. All 6 of us would return
