I stopped by Gedi Grill. There's a kitchen in the back of a nice little grocery store. I ordered the Hilib Ari. It was very generous. You might want to plan on two meals. Some of the meat was tough but some was tender. It was tasty and came with a drink and a banana.

Great place to pick up Halal food. Unfortunately they didn't have anywhere to sit to eat the food when we were there. Hope they get some seating for eating at the restaurant.

FYI only they may have changed their dog policy. Yelp says dogs allowed. I called to confirm and it was a resounding "no!" LOL. The yelp app required me to give them a rating in order to share this review, so I just gave four stars to match what they already have. I did not eat here because I had a dog with me. Just updating the community.

This food is incredible. The meats, rice, and sambusas are unreal. My family orders a bunch of food here at least twice a month. Tomorrow is the day. You get SO much for your money. My in-laws are pretty picky and not adventurous with food at all and they thought this was delicious. Give it a try, seriously.

this is by far the best new African restaurant in the Twin Cities. i tried the roasted goat and it was super tender with a very nice flavor. plus the prices are very reasonable compared to the lake street Somali restaurants. and fir the non-african food lovers there are burgers and other Anerican dishes. lastly Gedi / Hopkins Halal is brand new and extremely clean.
