We hosted our companies holiday party at FIVE event center for the first time this year and were absolutely BLOWN away! Olivia was incredible from start to finish to ensure all the details of our event were finalized, and I was able to enjoy the party myself knowing she had everything under control. She was quick to tackle any obstacles that arose the day of and went above and beyond to resolve any and all issues! Amelia was amazing and ensured the latter part of our evening continued on smoothly, even going the extra mile to help us load up our items at the end of the night. Our guests claimed this was the best holiday party yet and I 100% credit that to Olivia, Amelia and everyone else at FIVE who facilitated the night. Thank you FIVE for hosting us, and we look forward to working with you again for next year's event!

I just wanted to compliment Shauna and the team at the Five Event Center for their hard work and dedication towards the Super Bowl event we spent many months planning.Out of the many venues we looked at, the five instantly stood out. They were by far the best value for money and in my opinion had the best look and feel. I was honored to be able to plan the 2017 Champions Circle Entrepreneur and Vayner Sport and finding the right venue to kick off our first annual event was crucial. I couldn't have done it without the Fives help and dedication. All of their vendor recommendations were first class, so trust that you are in good hands. Deco Catering in particular was excellent. I went to a wedding reception here a week ago. Five Event Center can only host one, maybe two events. It gets its name because it used to be a police station for the 5th precinct (I think). Anyway, there's a downstairs area with a bar. The whole downstairs looks very clean and modern, like it was just redone this year. I liked it, but by the time all the guests were there, it was so crowded you almost couldnt move around. The upstairs is nice with a lot more room. There's a bar in the middle with empty space surrounding it. It was more than enough room for all the tables, guests, a photobooth, and dance floor. They also managed to squeeze in a buffet table. It was a good place, but I thought the downstairs looked cooler.

I just had my ceremony & reception at FIVE late last month. I had very few choices for the size (60-75 guests) and look (nontraditional, loungy, a great place to have a band) I was going for and this place really fit the bill. The ambiance is so great you don't have to bring really anything but votives. You also can choose your own caterer (for a small fee) and aren't restricted to a "preferred list" like many venues have. If I got married a second time it might be awkward, but I'd go there again :)

FiVE Event Center is amazing!The location in Uptown was built in the late 1800s and was previously the historic Minneapolis Fifth Police Precinct. The decor has been updated and has a beautiful modern and funky look. The wood floors are original to the building.There are 2 levels and when rented out the whole place is yours!A grand staircase leads up to the upstairs (there is also an elevator) where there are booths and tables can be set up in the open space. There is a large bar downstairs and a smaller one upstairs as well as bathrooms on both floors.The decor is so fabulous you barely even need to add your own decorations to the place.I had my wedding reception here in January of 2010 and it was perfect.You are able to choose any catering company you want and everything can be customized just for you. They have an awesome sound system that can be linked to any equipment you have brought in or even to an iPod if you want to do your own thing.It seemed like the options for food, drink, and entertainment were endless and it was the perfect blank slate to fill in with your own details.Our event coordinator was Jennifer (who I don't believe is still there) but she was fantastic. We were able to stop in and see the place/show it off multiple times before our big day and never had any trouble getting our questions answered.I would highly recommend FiVE for any event. It's beautiful and obviously stole my heart :)

We just celebrated our daughter's wedding at FIVE! Danielle was incredible throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding. This is an affordable and elegant venue that stunned our guests with its welcoming atmosphere. Seriously consider this for your special event!

I loved FIVE. We worked with Krista at first, and then Chelle, both of whom were enthusiastic, helpful, and professional at every step of the process. Chelle acted as our wedding planner of sorts the day of, and it was so great to have her as the point person. The venue itself is beautiful, clean, modern, and colorful, so no extra decoration is necessary. Our guests really enjoyed the separate rooms -- upstairs for the ceremony, downstairs for the cocktail hour, upstairs for the reception -- it broke things up and helped with crowd control. Costs do add up -- alcohol is pricey, and you have to pay for a security guard -- but overall we felt good about the value. We paid extra for setup, and as a result FIVE had everything taken care of so we worried about very little the day of the wedding. I highly recommend this venue.

I booked this venue in April of 2013 with a set wedding date of September 20, 2014. We chose to pay all of the deposit up front for the 5% discount, the total came to $3800. Unfortunately in November of 2013, my fiancé and I decided to call off our engagement. In the agreement it does state "the amount is deemed earned and non-refundable." This is all the agreement states in regards to canceling the event. Being that I cancelled it almost a year in advance, I thought there must be something they can do about the deposit. Could they could refund it partially? Could they refund it if they booked it for another party? There was absolutely no other option than for myself to have a different event on the day of what was supposed to be my wedding day. I am very disappointed in how this company responded to the cancellation of my event.
