Just had a hearty breakfast of eggs, pancakes, hash browns, bacon and coffee. Bring your appetite. The portion sizes are generous. One pancake filled an entire plate and was nearly 1" thick! Friendly staff and clean, convenient location across from gas station.

Elkhorn Lodge was a nice stop for some reasonably priced food. The bar was lodge-y with log beams and wood panelling plus antler and fish decor. They had four beers on tap including Busch Light. There was a dining room adjacent to the bar with counter seating as well. For dinner we both ordered broasted chicken, and I selected the garlic mashed potatoes as my side. They offered a small salad bar on Friday and Saturday with an iceberg lettuce/red cabbage/carrot blend, cheese, green peppers, onions, croutons and mushrooms. The chicken had great flavor on the breading and the meat was flavorful and juicy but almost overly so on the latter for me as it seemed more like dark meat even though I ordered (and prefer) white meat.Saturday night the menu was going to be smoked prime rib and BBQ ribs. Both sounded enticing.Elkhorn Lodge's menu offered breakfast all day. They didn't accept credit cards, but had an ATM. There were also poker machines and lots of locals were drinking and visiting at the bar.

Clam Lake Classic! 3.5 stars, but rounding up for the horseradish sauce! Clearly there are some issues with this place, but considering where it is (middle of nowhere and a 20 minute drive to your next best option), I'm willing to look the other way on certain things.First of all, the bar is awesome. There is LOTS of antler themed light fixtures, NRA-themed decor, and even some pro-Trump paraphernalia thrown in to remind you where you are. Aside from that, beer at the bar was cheap and conversation was good.We dined on a Saturday night suckered in by the temptation of smoked prime rib. After some discussion with the chef/owner, we discovered that there was no horseradish sauce in the house. Oh no!! Not to disappoint, the chef jotted off to the connivence across the road to pick some up. He whipped up a great sauce in a jiffy. Sorry, but Prime Rib is nothing without a good horseradish sauce!I loved the subtle smokiness of the meat. It had a great crust, but the cut was very fatty. For $24.95 with soup/salad bar, it was a bit pricey. At 16.95 I would not complain, but I suppose they gotta keep the lights on. For as up-north cool as the bar was, the dining room is pretty terrible. It could definitely stand some remodeling, but I think we all know that's not gonna happen.

A small group a friends went here for lunch while on an ATV trip after a recommendation from another bar further south. We arrived around 1 to get lunch and ordered 2 pizzas and the garlic cheese pizza sticks. Both were really good and the garlic cheese sticks were awesome. Unfortunately the service was much more lacking. The bartender was very inattentive and forgot for my husband's beer after he asked for another and had to ask again. She seemed wrapped up in a different group of men that seemed like regulars. It felt like it took much longer to get drinks than any other bar up here with really not that many people there.

Small friendly cafe. Stopped for breakfast. Basic menu with something for everyone. (Omelets, skillet, pancakes, oatmeal, etc.). It was quiet and had a few locals there. I ordered the eagle's nest and my husband ordered the sportsman's skillet. The food was delivered quickly and just as we ordered it. I was delighted to see on the table in addition to jam, they also have peanut butter or honey. I had honey on my English muffin and it hit the spot! The sweet buttery treat complemented with eggs and bacon. If you are looking for a no-frills, simple breakfast that will not disappoint, this is the place for you. It's clean, updated interior is inviting as well.

Country. Fried. Steak. Not only were we hungover, we had finished a full of a weekend battered by winter fishing. This place has a solid diner style breakfast and a beautiful bar. Loved it!

A northwoods bar that serves up variety of dishes all year round. During the spring months the place is quieter but still has the daily specials. I bicycled over from lake namakagon on a Friday evening and enjoyed the fish dinner. Lightly battered cod with a choice of sides. My dinner came 9.99 and was a large portion fish, 3 pieces, and the Jo Jo fries that came with it were great too. I was definitely full when I left and satisfied. The décor and atmosphere was nice (it felt clean and well kept). The staff was friendly and the bar or televisions weren't too loud. I would recommend friends to come here for the fish dinner.
