Dunmire's Bar & Grill

We enjoy when we get to Dunmiers, great food and service. Like the beef pot roast, burgers, the fried pickles and good.

We were looking through a visitor's guide to the Brained Lakes area and noticed that this place had a ton of rewards so we decided to give this place a try. Walking in, I definitely noticed that this is much more of a local bar than grill. The seating area was pretty basic and not much to write about. Our table was slanted, either because of the floor or faulty floors and the walls could use a good repaint and refurnish.I decided to try one of their burgers because they were rated as best in the area. It was OK but nothing amazing. The patty was a little thin and hardpressed for my liking, not very easy to get a medium rare burger. The bacon was thick cut and toppings were tasty and generous. My family tried a couple pasta dishes and they were rich, creamy, and carb satisfying. My father enjoyed his prime rib dinner. The thing that really surprised me was my son's fish and chips. The cod was very good, an up north traditional nice thin black pepper seasoned beer batter. The piece of fish was very meaty and flaky. We also noticed a couple other dishes that looked appetizing. The walleye looked great and the jumbo pretzel was huge! Is it the best place in Brained to grab dinner or a burger like the tour magazine quoted? I would disagree but I cannot deny they have a great following, the place was lively and busy. I would definitely come back for their Fish Fridays or walleye since that was what I thought was the best.

The food was excellent!!! I had the shrimp scampi and my husband had the glazed pork chop. They were both so good!! will definitely be back!

We had food delivered as we were driving through and there were several things that lead to this just being disappointing. The food was delivered to a hotel and we weren't given any utensils. The hotel we are in serves no food so my wife basically had to use fingers for a grilled chicken dinner, potatoes, and a side salad. I ordered an appetizer of Dunmire's Chips. It's $12.99 and says that it's their chips smothered in a house made sauce that uses 5 cheeses, smothered in salsa and Jalapeños. What I received was a box of potato chips with some strange, red sauce that I originally thought was ketchup. After trying it, I still don't know what it was. I also got a Cuban sandwich that consisted of dry pork, pickle slices to the side, and some cheese. It wasn't the worst Cuban I've ever had, but for $13.99, it'd really be nice if it was at least good.

This great place earns another 5 star review! Great food! Great service! Ella took great care of my friend and I! Even though she was busy, she still kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. We both had their version of tater tot hotdish. What a great version of this classic! Crispy tater tots on top with melted cheese. And then it gets even better after you pass the top layer! This place has a great menu that looks nothing else like anything in the Brainerd area. Still many more things on the menu I want to try! Thanks again Ella! Support small businesses! They need as much as we do!

So happy to say they've come a long way since first opening! Great drink menu with a variety of options. Good service, makes you feel like you've been here a million times and that you're a regular even if it's the first time you've visited.

Used to love going here all the time. I don't think I would get to go from here again. I picked up my food and left the staff a tip for my order. The pasta was dry, everything was super salty, I set a timer for 20 minutes to pick up my stuff and it wasn't very warm, my meal was supposed to have auju which I didn't receive, I paid for ranch and didn't get any, for some reason we got two cornbread pieces instead of one (the ones we got were dried out and old), and just really bummed that the quality wasn't there like before. I tried calling a few times, then when I finally got a hold of them they offered for me to drive back out there and pick up my ranch. The server over the phone said she was sorry. Maybe if I go again I'd dine in rather than doing to go.

I have eaten here for the couple years. I have always gotten great food. I was just talked into $27 shrimp tacos. The serving size was two tacos, with only three shrimp total. I also got tots which where completely soggy. Please don't serve me shitty food that is completely over priced and try and tell me it's because of inflation. $3 to go coke! What a joke. I feel like I'm going to be sick. Fuck Minnesota

I recently moved to the area. Tried Dunmires for the first time. I ordered a spinach dip for an appetizer. The cheese was clumped together on the top and crunchy. The rest of the dip didn't have much flavor. I also ordered the smallest prime rib. It was a little fattier than I would have hoped for but was still good. The reason why I won't be excited to go back is the service. I sat at the bar to eat. I felt like I had to flag down the bartender if I wanted anything, like to order or check out, even though she was checking on the guests right next to me. I felt like a burden for her.. I am a former server so I'm usually pretty tolerant but definitely felt ignored tonight.

Was very good food and service. Burger was excellent. Fries were spectacular but the chips were soggy.
