A great cowboy ribeye. Prepared perfectly and very tender.
Good drinks. A little on the pricey side ($7) but good.
The French onion was excellent; however, it needed more croutons and cheese.
Ribeye wild mushrooms hashbrowns
Everyone loved their prime rib ($32).
Hashbrowns and stuffed shrimp
Great salad
Prime rib
Ummmm, NO fresh water fish here. Help, Robert Irvine!!
Wash it all down with a cold Honey Weiss
The all you can eat Fishfry dinner is really good.
Fish fry sandwich is soooo good!
Cheese curds YUM!

If your thinking of going here, it's a good choice. However, make sure you make a reservation (or you might get turned away)! Now, the important stuff. I want to give a 4.5 to the restaurant, but we know Yelp doesn't work in half stars. I'm giving four stars because the restaurant is just under the 4.5 rating. The service we received throughout our visit was was good. The bartender (owner) poured good drinks and even told a couple jokes. Our waitress was on the money with our table and the tables around us.The drinks were good; however, seemed a little pricey compared to many other Wisconsin supper clubs. The bar area serves as the waiting area before entering the dining room. The food was very good. Three of the four in our group had the prime rib. Each had it cooked to a different level. Each said it was cooked perfectly. I had the big, cowboy ribeye. It was done as requested (medium rare), was tender and had very good flavor. There is no salad bar and unlike many other restaurants, soup and salad are options for your meal (two choices and a small basket of bread). I'd have liked to have the soup and salad automatically included. To me, potatoes and vegetables are options, not soup or salad. My French onion soup had a great rich broth; I'd have liked it to have more onions, croutons and cheese for substance. The salads were fresh but very pedestrian in appearance.I spoke to someone in the bar who is a regular. They said everything on the menu is good. I believe them. A few improvements and the place is a solid five star! Will we make the long drive back? You betcha!

I was super excited to try this place after reading all the great reviews, I made a reservation on my birthday, 9 September, and boy was I disappointed. The facility is nice and the staff seemed friendly but that's where it stopped. I ordered the Ribeye and my wife got Salmon. My steak was worse than one I would buy at Walmart and cooked without seasoning. Zero flavor and I could only eat about half and felt sick to my stomach the rest of the night. My wife said her salmon was okay and nothing to write home about. Oh, the worse part...our drinks were empty when the food came and no refills, so we choked down our food with nothing to drink. For $90.00 we should have went elsewhere. We're pretty easy to please (see our other reviews) but this place was extremely disappointing.

Prime rib perfect - the au jus is thick and smothered on a huge cut. The add on scallops were just ok - slightly overdone and the side salad was boring as well as the wild rice blend but the prime rib - the reason for going that night was the star.Nothing fancy inside - just your regular small town, out of town, up north supper club. But the food is good and the service decent. This is where we usually go while up at the cabin or farm if we don't feel like traveling to Hayward.

Worst fish sandwich ever. Alaskan whitefish? What's that? We asked but it wasn't clarified. Tiny portion, undercooked tail end. Had to send back to kitchen. How about some fresh lake fish, like walleye?? Lakes abound in this region. Doesn't that make sense? But no, you take the easy cheap crap route and use frozen. What about sourcing locally? That's what everyone is doing. Get on the bandwagon. Your placemats promote Fresh water fish. Who are you kidding? Serve what you promote. Drinks were decent tho. Only saving grace.

We are visiting the area for the week/weekend. Dix's was a few minutes down the road from our airbnb and was recommended to us by our host. We made a reservation for 8 people(would definitely recommend a reservation as they tend to get busy for a small restaurant). Upon arriving Kirk greeted us at the bar and said our table wasn't quite ready.. we had a few drinks at the bar and chatted with him, very friendly man! The restaurant was playing Gordon light foot and playing Andy Griffith and had all of the typical supper club decor(i LOVED that feel)! We got sat a short time later and our food was EXCELLENT!! A few of us got fish fry, I got the surf and turf(the fillet mignon was melt in your mouth and the jumbo shrimp was delish), my boyfriend got the lobster tail which was great. They served us side salads and fresh bread which was also good. We were very pleased with our visit to Dix's and would highly recommend to anyone passing through the area!
