What a mixed experience our dinner tonight was. Positives: friendly and attentive professional staff; interesting menu; quiet and welcoming ambiance; and some of the prettiest presentation. Negatives: I'm not sure anyone in the kitchen was actually tasting the food. The toast under the pate' was hard as wood. The cod was so salty it was almost like canned anchovies, as if it had accidentally been salted four or five times. The rabbit was extremely dry, as were the roasted carrots. The flan was so pretty and tasted fine, but the dried apple decoration was soggy and chewy. Everything looked so very pretty - I wish the food had tasted as good as it looked.

We came on a Saturday night so it was really busy and the kitchen was backed up. We had great service, however. They have an extensive wine list and my spouse's old fashioned was actually good and not overly sweet. Bread is meh. The bruschetta app was bad. I enjoyed the short rib. My Caesar salad was also frankly bad. My toddler enjoyed her chicken strips. Overall, Mediocre food with nice ambience. I would probably go back when I'm in the area again for a glass of wine and dessert (although I didn't sample any this time around).

I loved celebrating my birthday at Cru. They were happy to accommodate a birthday cake that we brought. I loved my meal, and everyone agreed mine was the best at the table- scallops and risotto. Our only complaint was the branzino dish. We didn't realize it would be an entire roasted fish- head/tail and all. This is the common cook for this fish, but the diners were not aware. I think it would be helpful to ensure people are clear on what they're ordering. Neither person finished their fish dish. I would say overall the food is a little better than average, but overpriced.

Food: A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We ordered several items on the menu and we all loved everything. I had the scallops and they were cooked to perfection! I also ordered the bone marrow appetizer and it was so buttery and delicious! Drinks: I order a dirty martini (yes at a wine bar... it was my first weekend away as a new mom... I needed a martini!) The martini was perfect. Pros: The service was friendly and fast.Cons: Smaller venue... very dark & not specifically good for loud drunk first time out the of the house ladies. It was fine but it was a "white table cloth joint". Experience: Great! Perfect! Exactly what I needed! Conclusion: If you are staying at the resort or in the area... this is a must try restaurant if you want to spend a bit of money to have amazing food. They are right up there with the big city high end restaurants... not something I would expect from cabin country. Nice work Cru!!

Came here for a pre-wedding festivities dinner in a group of about 20. The space is dimly lit and quite loud, so you can really only talk to your direct seat mate as opposed to a conversation held by the entire table.Service was somewhat hurried, just not a relaxed fine dining experience. For our party, we had a limited menu with four entree courses to choose from, with a salad and cheesecake for dessert.Risotto with seafood was good, a little al dente on the rice but the scallops were beautiful.Cheesecake with a strawberry rhubarb sauce for dessert.

My experience was the opposite of the other reviews that are from 2 years ago ... restaurant recently reopened and the food was mediocre at best with fine dining prices. Beautiful, cozy atmosphere and nice service (so 2 stars instead of 1) but the food was not good. Over salted vegetables and risotto, chewy steak, undercooked/ tough fingerling potatoes, and bland fish. Scallops and starter salad were just ok. Would not recommend.

We went here for date night and it did not disappoint! The menu is limited, so I would suggest checking it ahead of time if you have any picky eaters. Heavy on the seafood the night were were there and we were thrilled. They have a wine cellar on site where you can browse and purchase your bottle from the cellar itself. We were surprised by the reasonableness of the pricing of the bottles of wine. The dessert was also AWESOME and worth saving room for.Heads up that the space is very limited and reservations would be highly recommended. It is also dimly lit, so perfect for date night but not for a larger rowdy crowd.

Such a great setting. We went with a group of friends and had a lovely time. The igloo fit 8 of us. The food was pretty good. Basic bar food.

Like some others have said, the staff were very nice, though they seemed understaffed so service was slow. The food quality is lower than the prices suggest. The food was OK, but not great. We spent $200 with tip for two people on 2 drinks, 1 salad and two entrees.

Great atmosphere & wonderful place for a glass or bottle of wine. However, I'd only return for drinks next time. The food was mediocre at best. Definitely overpriced for the quality. We dine out often & have had significantly better food for half of the price. I had the Classic Chicken. It mentioned being pan fried, but not breaded. I even mentioned to the server that I was choosing the chicken over the lasagna because I wanted something lighter & less heavy. That's where he should have chimed in to let me know it was breaded, so actually not a lighter option, so was surprised when it arrived. I would NOT order it again. Very heavily breaded & greasy. I've had so much better for half the price elsewhere. My son had the Alfredo & it was decent, but certainly not the best. I also asked about the wine, as I contemplated between 2 kinds. The server guided me & said he'd bring me a glass of the cab. Other restaurant servers would have suggested a sample of each. It was good, but I was disappointed he didn't give me the opportunity to select which size & he assumed the largest, so was stuck w/a $19 glass of wine that was okay. Had he given me the option of the smaller glass or a sample, I could have had a different one for my next glass, but one extra large was more than enough for me. Just felt disappointed after dining here. Kind of ruined the experience that a simple Alfredo, a fried & breaded chicken breast & 1 glass of wine totaled apx $100 with tip. Not worth it!
