Coremark Metals

This place was great. We just needed some scraps for my son to practice weld on and the helped us just as if we were buying for a real project.

I wrote a review a few days ago about Coremark not updating their on-line prices and not honoring the price their own calculator gave me, instead more than doubling the price. I received a call from a lady who I think is a supervisor from Coremark Metals. She offered to give me the parts for the original price that was displayed. Not only that, but instead of waiting for the product for a month, they would provide me with DOM tubing (superior to the tubing I ordered), with a thicker gauge. They had this in their Ft. Worth warehouse and offered to cut the tubing that same day. I picked up the product the same day for the original, much lower price. I think the supervisor's name is Angie and I appreciate when a business makes the effort to make things right. I can't give them 5 stars because of the original incident, but I am now a happy customer.

Arrived here at 7am and was greeted by a very friendly guy named Mario. He really set the mood for the entire trip. Everybody here is extremely helpful and nice. They had exactly what I needed and got our order processed right away. As an out of towner in need I can't tell you how great it was to find a company that really came through. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for any type of metal in any form. The great staff is what really made the trip. Thanks guys

They have everything you could possibly need plus tools, hardware, welding supplies and a friendly, helpful staff. You actually have to see it to believe it. It's my new favorite store.

Huge selection and great service. If you ever need steel is any kind I highly recommend these guys.

Huge place to find all kind of metal materials for your project needs.Crowded office, very poor customer service handling, no queue number taking, no "may I help the next customer line please" call out. The front counter staffs just willing to take care of any customers who can cut in queue line of other customers. Office manager Angie claims "this is how great we are handling 4,000 customer daily".You take queue and don't complete with other customers and fight your way to the front counter to get services, you are the trouble...

This place makes me wish I always had projects to do with steel! We wanted a 5'x14" stainless steel backsplash in our kitchen. I had done some online cost estimates and it would have been over $200. I checked for local steel suppliers, but didn't think I would find a place to do such a small project. I spoke to someone over the phone and placed an order. It was cut to size with a protective coating and It cost under $30! When I rolled up to pick up my tiny order in my little hatchback every single person working there was genuinely friendly and incredibly helpful, even the parking security guy! It was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. And the backsplash is beautiful!

Not sure what happened to this place.... it was fantastic when it was Discount Steel. I'm told that all they did was change the name but the entire culture seems to have changed as well. I have been a loyal customer ever since I started my business 13 years ago. Was always able to get the material I needed, when I needed it. Recently I have found them to be much less helpful. Yesterday, I stopped into the retail center to get a specific size of cold rolled steel bar for a rush job. They did not have the specific size on the shelf in the retail center and nothing was available in the drop section either. The material was available on site but the employee told me that I would have to purchase online and pay a rush processing fee in order to have the material 3 DAYS later (this was monday, at the time, rush processing would get it to me by noon on Thursday)! The employee attempted to see if he could just go out to the "saw shop" and cut it himself but said he was refused. Can't really find an excuse in my mind that would make this OK. They had the material on hand, they had employees standing around in the retail center that were willing and able to get the material for me and cut it, they were not busy with retail traffic (only 1 other car in the parking lot when I was there), yet the employee was told he could not help me get the material I needed! Luckily, I was able to get next day delivery from online metals dot com, didn't really cost a whole lot more either. Employee was great, policy was bad!

When you're not pushing pixels around a screen, you're negotiating intricate and fragile relationships.Before you go to another meeting, take a lunchtime drive up Washington Avenue and have one of the guys with cutting torches cut off whatever you need to size.I found the material I was looking for at a really great price and drove away as happy as only a cube-dweller with grease under the fingernails can be.Don't know what's up with the other Yelp listings that put this in the 651. This is in Minneapolis.
