China House

I am visiting Isanti overnight for a meeting with a customer. It's a fairly small town with a very limited selection of restaurants. I decided to give China House a try. I walked from my hotel to the restaurant, and wasn't terribly impressed with the exterior appearance nor the limited interior volume. I wasn't sure if I had made the right choice, since the sidewalk immediately outside the entrance was removed and in its place was dirt with a rubber mat. I ordered the general Tso's chicken with white rice to go. I was told it would be about 15 minutes. Perfect, since I had been in a car for 4.5 hours and wanted to walk around town a bit. I walked down the road several blocks, turned around and came back. When I arrived back at the restaurant, my order was ready. I carried it back to my hotel room.In spite of the disheartening appearance of the restaurant, the food was excellent. It beat my expectations by a wide margin. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not overdone and the batter had a nice crispness to it. The broccoli was also top notch, not all slimy and rubbery from being over cooked like many restaurants offer. The chicken meat was dark meat with good flavor, and was free of hard bits of gristle or other unfavorable characteristics.If I visit Isanti again, I will order from China House again.

Excellent service and excellent food. Food is always hot and fresh. Service is always excellent no matter what time of day I have been there. They take the precautions for Covid seriously which makes the take- out experience better than waiting in line at a drive-through fast food joint! Live the fried shrimp, won tons and kong pou and general tso chicken.

Been going here for the past several months and the food has always been good and consistent Normally get the same order of chicken fried rice and Szechuan shrimp and chicken so I can comment on other meals but would assume they're good as well

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Food is amazing and pretty fast to get your orders. We did have to wait the last time we went but it was Valentine's Day and lots of ppl had our same idea because the food is soooo good!! Also nice ppl too.

Great food, good service. Many individuals from out of town have mentioned they like this place!

The food is very good and the portions substantial. There is little seating, so it's basically takeout. I wish they could expand into a restaurant.

usually this place is my absolute fave. I come here constantly and get the same order but recently I've came here with my boyfriend and the gentleman told us itd be a 10 minute wait which is fine because that's what we usually expect until it took 30 minutes to get our food while 8 different cars stopped in and ordered at the counter and they all got there food while we where ignored

Called in an order because google and Yelp both say they're open until 9:30pm. They answered, said "we're closed" and then hung up.Super rude and if you're closed, change your hours to reflect that

Always friendly service on phone and in person. Food is always fresh. Amazing for how they've kept up during Covid and kept service safe. Love how this business and owners have become apart of our community. Thank you!
