Chet's Liquor Drive-In

Easily my favorite liquor store in the Saint Paul/Mendota Heights/West Saint Paul/Highland area. Fantastic selection of craft beer, wine, liquor, and mixers. Bonus stars for their build your own six-pack section. Awesome local vibe with even better staff. They always have awesome recommendations and dish out expert answers to every question I've ever asked. You can tell these guys are enthusiastic about their selections, and I always leave wondering why I even bother going anywhere else.

Great location! Very respectable craft beer selection! Decent prices!While I don't shop at Chet's very often, I will say that it's really nice to have this in the neighborhood. It's not a huge store by any means but seems to have a lot of choices, which is what you want. The prices won't compete with Total Wine, but it won't offend you either. The staff are fine. I haven't really had to ask for help finding anything, but they are always friendly at check out. It's right off 35E and Hwy 13, so very convenient to get to. But they share a parking lot with Bogey's, and that gets very busy on Saturdays and Sundays. But the store has dedicated spots in front so it shouldn't be an issue.By the way, there's no Drive-In. It's technically called "Chet's Wine and Brewsky." :)

The people that work here are great! I like that I can find some pretty unique beers here, along with a wider selection of local beers, than say for instance, some of the bigger liquor stores on Robert Street (and better prices, too).

Amazing selection. Decent prices. We don't know the guy's name but there is an owner or employee that is super helpful and knowledgeable. It is our go to liquor store!

As people who visit breweries while traveling, my husband and I wanted to take home some local MN beer while here. We happened upon Chets and decided to see if they had a good beer selection. Boy do they! Plus, the gentleman working was extremely helpful in recommending beers for us and giving us suggestions of breweries to check out based on where we were headed. A diamond in the rough!

Ahh, Chet's...The most useful thing about Chet's is that it is open until 10pm. This can be handy when you need to grab some booze and your neighborhood place closed at 9. Chet's has a decent selection of beer, wine and liquor. The prices are on the high side of reasonable, but it seems in poor taste to complain about that after 9pm on a weekday.

The rudest people ever. This is my second experience them being absolutely horrible so I'm writing a review. My mom lives in Mendota heights. I'm 30 years old from California and came in with her (she's paying and purchasing) and they were so ungodly disrespectful and rude and told us to leave because I didn't have my ID (she did). Told my mom she couldn't buy the alcohol since I didn't have my id (after I walked out) MY MOTHER WAS BUYING AND IM 30 YEARS OLD. We came back to tell my dad the experience and he said "why would you ever go there? Every-time I go they're such dicks" - we will be telling the neighborhood to never go here.

Long time customer. Rarely go anywhere else for my beverages. Tom and Greg always have everything I need for a quiet evening, or a backyard bash wit friends and neighbors!!

Gotta love Chet's! Always open when you thought it was too late. Good selection given that it is not a Walmart sized store. Employees are knowledgable if you ask them for their opinion.

This is a good little liquor store. The location is nice and the people that have helped me there have given me some good recommendations on beer and a couple of select wines.
