I have never had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich that was made with actual steak, until today. This was just one of the wonderful things available here. In 1980 we lived in Excelsior and would stop in Makenthuns at their old location and also purchase things at the Wild Bird factory outlet. We moved away from Minnesota, but come back every year to see family and friends. I am so happy to see this business still doing so well. That has to be a credit to Kathy for keeping this wonderful old business relevant today!

When we'd come out here while I was growing up, our family always made a point to come stock up on beef jerky. I haven't been here in over 8 years and was so excited to see it made it through COVID! Got some extra to take back to my sister when I go home to Honolulu. The staff were incredibly patient and kind as we were pretty chaotic and jumbled with our ordering. It was lovely getting to try some of the flavors, get slim Johns for the first time, and see all of the other offerings I didn't realize they had like pickled herring and Buffalo chicken dip. So stoked this place is still kicking!

I was absolutely blown away by the quality and selection of meats, cheeses, and spreads. I've easily gotten the best steak from here. The staff was kind and it was an easy choice to visit again.

I can't begin to list everything this place carries. I would have had to take notes. Such a variety of everything. To the left are the breads and rolls. Then the freezer, which was why I was there cause I live on brats and beef sticks. I chose beer, cajun, and cheese curd. I bought a brownie for Basil and it's just like a huge piece of your favorite chocolate cake. At the deli I got a crab salad and ate it when I got home, delicious. I didn't need beef sticks, I'm well stocked up, but I grabbed the pepperoni pizza slim Johns. It's longer than most which makes a good lunch portion. I loved the drive.

Food is amazing. Fresh meats and salads. I also enjoy their lunch items. Yum. Check out their twice baked potatoes.

As a purveyor of fines, smoked and cured meats, nationwide, this place is in my top five of all-time. Decided to stop here on a whim- per the advice, given me by a waitress. They have hands-down, the best smoked salmon I've ever had in my entire life. The good news is, everything. Is that good. I purchased their sweet chili wings, ring bologna, horseradish cheese curds, braunSchweiger, and honey-dill smoked salmon. Everything listed, except for the cheese curds, were house- smoked. Oh! And I picked up two regular hotdogs.(wieners). Those as well were the best hotdogs I've ever had. I've been married to an authentic German for 15 years, and I know good quality meats. Everything here rivals anything you would find in Germany. Now just to find out if they ship across the country.....

The Philly cheesesteak sandwich is so good! Their meatloaf dinner is a big bang for your tastebuds and buck! Nice job Cathy!

Fantastic meat market and deli in St Boni. Good selection of quality steaks, ribs, even salmon....beef sticks, brats, salads, sandwiches to go.I bought a rack of baby backs and a reuben- the reuben was very good although the cheese did burn the roof of my mouth so beware. They also have convenience items to go - crackers, cheese curds, sausage, some garden items like tomatoes. And bones/pig ears for the pups. Beverage case (no beer or wine)The service is very friendly, they are well staffed so they get you in and out.

Drove out of my way for a sandwich I've ordered a dozen times. I normally get the Philly Cheesesteak with no onions or cheese and have always been able to get it that way. Today I ordered it and they simply said no at the register. I told them I always get it that way, the manager simply said "Not any more" and walked away from me. The incredible rudeness and lack of care for a former loyal customer is enough to take my business elsewhere from now on.

It is a kind drive for many of us to go to get our specialty items and THEY DONT HAVE THEM! hello... it is holiday time! how can I drive over 30 minutes and you don't have the basics aka shepherds pie, Swedish meatballs, etc. I emptied the rest of my cart and left. maybe mackenthuns has gotten too big for their britches and forgot about those of us that got them there.
