Amazing food, quick service, and great prices! Went for lunch and it happened to be national margarita day, so jumbo margaritas were only $5. Not overly sweet! I tend to be picky about margaritas and these were good. Lunch menu had a lot of options to choose from. The portion sizes are large and filling, and the free tortilla chips just keep coming. Really great experience and super authentic Mexican restaurant. Lively atmosphere with Mexican music and decor. We visit Alex often and this is definitely one of our new favorite spots!

Food was spectacular. Super burrito was excellent! Shredded beef had a lot of flavor. The chips and salsa were great. Loved the salsa! The decor has been updated since I was last here. Like to fiesta colors. Service was excellent. Everyone was very attentive and friendly.

Really enjoy this particular Mexican restaurant in town. The chips and salsa are really good and they even have a cabbage salsa they bring to the table that is delicious. The food quality is pretty consistent and they are good at answering any questions you may have about the dishes as well as making sure you are good with everything garnished such as the sour cream, guacamole, etc.My one food complaint would be that the meat, onions and green peppers are hard to bite into in most of the dishes I have ordered- I wish they were chopped a little smaller or cooked longer so they can get more tender. When you are seated in the booths it is really nice because they are a little more private and less noisy than sitting in the open space at a table. The waiters and hosts are always very friendly, however the last visit we ended up waiting over an hour for our entrees despite the restaurant being less busy than our usual visits.I feel like ever since they had to shutdown the restaurant to deal with their kitchen fire they haven't really gotten their groove back. It is still very good food but I feel like the restaurant lacks the consistency it once had years prior.

Previous visits to Alexandria, MN, left us disappointed with our restaurant choices. But a recent weekend getaway to Alexandria was rewarded with some good restaurants serving delicious food. Casa Jalisco, located downtown at 523 Broadway (Minnesota Route 29), is a large and, judging by the number of diners, very popular. And for a good reason: The ambiance was warm and inviting; the service was prompt and cordial, and the food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed freshly made warm tortilla chips, lots of Jalisco-style salsa, steak taco salad, and my favorite, Camarones a la Diablo, grilled shrimp smothered in a spicy sauce complemented with a small salad and refried beans. It's some of the best Mexican food we've had this side of the border.

The food has went down hill compared to last year. The service was terrible during a Friday evening dinner. We won't be going back this year.

This was a nice small restaurant. I had the enchilada and bean tostada lunch special. I've never had either before but they were good! Ad they come with rice and refried beans which were also good.Service was quick, too, which was nice.Only a few small negatives, but still a solid four stars.-there were 6 of us and our server didn't write down any of the orders, but he got about 95% of it right! That's a great memory. Though with so many people maybe writing down would be better since there was an incorrect ingredient added and one not added.-the menu for the lunch specials should mention that each of the dishes come with rice and refried beans. People might not think they got enough and will order too much! I had overheard from someone in my group about the beans and rice so I knew I was good.-we had to ask for silverware and napkins. It was easy to get, however!-the enchilada didn't say what kind it was on the menu for the lunch special. Things went a little quick so I forgot to ask. Those things are still rather minor. Still highly recommended!

We were anxious to try this restaurant as we drive past it all the time during the summer. The chicken and steak fajita was not great, very limited meat and it was not served on a hot sizzle plate, rather on the same plate as the refried beans and rice. My taco salad had very little hamburger in it and was small for $11.99. We were in a booth, the restaurant is divided into two sides with booths and then tables in the rear. Very claustrophobic and no atmosphere. Chips and Salsa were very good. Server's English very hard to understand. Overall rating a 2 out of 5. We won't be back!

Awesome food that rivals a lot of high-end restaurants we went to in Chicago when we lived there. Nice quiet and cozy atmosphere and really friendly staff.
