Cam Ranh Bay

We go to cam rahn bay at least once a month. The best egg rolls, the best pho , the best pancake - it is delicious.

I recently started working in Burnsville and still on a quest to find our go-to Vietnamese restaurant for lunch. What intrigued us to order from Cam Ranh Bay was their lunch special, such a great deal!! There was 6 of us that ordered different lunch specials and all of us had the same experience with our food, some parts were good, but no one finished (nor planned to finish) their meals. For the lunch option you get a soup, appetizer, and entree for $10.95! I chose the egg drop soup and I thought it was very bland. I chose an eggroll as my app, and it was pretty good! For my entree I tried the pork over rice noodle. The meat was flavorful, so I did finish that, but the rest of the meal just wasn't hitting the spot. The flavors just weren't all there even though I was wanting to love it so much! I wasn't completely disappointed with Cam Ranh Bay so I wouldn't be opposed to trying something different next time!

This is one of my favorite spots for takeout in Burnsville! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I've only gotten takeout, but they do have a spacious dining room if you prefer to dine in. There is a large parking lot out front so no issues with parking. They have a great lunch special for just under $12 that comes with soup, an appetizer, an entree and rice. My go-to order is the chicken lomein and egg rolls. Hands down my favorite egg rolls! The only down side is that if you're ordering takeout you do have to call in your order as they don't have online ordering.

The best item was hands down the Beef Chow Fun. I love the wide noodles and the tender cuts of beef that smelled like they just came off the grill. So good! I also loved the appetizer platter. I don't think I've ever seen an asian appetizer platter featuring so many different options. They were all very good! The lunch special items we ordered were average and not too exciting. The price was good but I'd rather pay more $ and order from the favorites section of the menu. The vegetable soup consisted of a few veggies in a flavorful broth. It tasted very clean and healthy. I'm a sucker for broths and this one was really good! My suggestion - skip the lunch menu and order from the Favorites section. Service was exceptional and they had a full house when we left at 12:45 pm.

The food is good and you get plenty of it. We started with cream cheese wontons. These were piping hot and served with sweet and sour. I ordered the combination fried rice sub beef instead of shrimp. It was pretty good. My husband tried a chicken dish he enjoyed. I can't think of which one. The bathroom was clean, service was good, and I enjoyed the TV that showed kitchen prep being done. Unlikely to be theirs, but still something cool to watch while waiting on food.

While not all their menu items are worth ordering, some of the items highlighted in this review are solid for a typical MN suburb. Located in small strip mall across the way from Burnsville shopping center, there is ample parking and no need for reservation. Casual family owned dine in restaurant with mix of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. They have lunch special menu too. Rethe following: 1. Banh Xeo with lettuce wrap (ginormous yellow crispy crepe pancake with pork & shrimp with onions) 5/52. Crispy egg rolls 4/53. Crispy five spice prawns 5/54. Fried egg noodles topped with stir fry 4/55. Pho noodles with crab and pork soup 2.5/56. Grilled pork chops with rice and veggies 4/57. Wonton soup 3/58. Beef skewers 4/5

We were regular customers of this restaurant pre COVID. We used to love getting the banh xeo here, it was abnormally big and had a lot of great stuffing with pork, shrimp and bean sprouts. The pho was decent here but not anything memorable. The reason why I am rating a 3/5 is due to my most recent experience. I noticed prices went up significantly for the appetizers. For example, the spring rolls are now close to $8 and they used to be around $4-5. I bought only two orders of spring rolls to go and spent $18, which is about $1-2 more than some other pho restaurants in nearby suburbs. The spring rolls had quite a lot of lettuce and not as much noodles or meat either so that was disappointing. They don't give you peanut sauce either, just hoisin which is interesting.

The service is fast and food is always fresh!! If you like fried rice I recommend trying their pineapple fried rice. It is served in an actual pineapple.

I got the seafood pan fried noodle. It was ok (3/5). The shrimp, veggies, and noodles were all decent taste wise (3/5), but the squid was a little chewy (2/5). The portion was pretty massive (5/5)! Someone else in my party got a chicken dish, which I tried a bit of, and it was not good (2/5). They didn't eat much of it or ask for a box. There is a pretty deep menu, so perhaps some options are better than others. The service was good (4/5), and the interior of the restaurant is relatively standard. It's easy to talk to one another and isn't much background noise.

Good food reasonably priced. Went for lunch and for $10.95 you can get a combo meal. Soup, appetizer, fried or white rice, and entree. Service was quick and efficient. Plenty of inside seating.
