It's been per-Covid since I've been here. They are still mind blowing amazing with their hot drinks and customers service! Annnnd they've expanded a lot since I was here last! (Two entry door points now.) My kiddo has the day off of school and doing art at a coffee shop has become our latest fav thing to do and the beauty of Cafe Astoria's oh-so-pretty drinks popped in mind. My son was so wide eyed in delight, when his glammed up hot cocoa arrived at the table with flecks of real gold for him to try! The staff was extra sweet and eager to please on my kiddo's first experience here and served his gorgeous drink with a smile. I ordered Leah's Happy Place. Seriously the BEST hot matcha drink I've EVER sipped! (Matcha, lavender and pistachio.)There is now ample tables and space. And they still have lots of lovely pastries and delicious sounding food on the menu!I definitely need to make time to come back when I have more time to relax!

This place is a hot commodity in the St. Paul area. Cafe Astoria has been on my list of places to try for years now. I'm not a big fan of St. Paul and dread that side of town so much but have been trying to adventure a bit more lately. Not knowing the process or setup of the cafe we entered from the back door and walked to the front. We eventually seen signage that said if you plan to dine in just grab a table and order via the QR code. Only problem is it was very packed and not much standing room as staff are trying to move around as well to deliver food/drinks. For a while we stood at the front counter debating whether to do takeout or try to wait for seats to become avail but as we waited people were coming in grabbing tables before they were even wiped down. We caught on and ended up doing the same to grab a table. We ordered an iced strawberry matcha, matcha latte, Sunday Candy (from the specials menu), bacon cheddar & egg crepe and a strawberry & cream crepe. The drinks were all good. Loved the cute artistry. The crepes were good as well. The food came out fairly quick but the drinks did take a while. They were really busy so I'll give some grace. Prices were fair. They do have covers over the door to help with drift but it was a bit cold as the doors were constantly being opened. It's pretty industrial looking inside and really cool wall art. When I looked up above our table there was a huge spiderweb. Parking in the area can be rough if there are events going on. We were able to get a metered spot about 2 blocks away. But again it's nice because they have 2 doors you can enter (one on each side of the block). Overall cute cafe, good drinks but not sure I'd go through the hassle of going here again.

Saw this and have been wanting to try! Finally got the chance this time! This place is located in downtown so parking is difficult to find. There seems to be two sides to order from. You can also order from a QR code. We ordered from QR but one drink wasn't on the menu so wr had to order it in person. They bring out the drinks quickly. I got the candy rainbow latte but it was too dark in colors. It tasted pretty good though. Everything we got looked beautiful and pleasing! I would definitely return again to try a different drink! There are also a lot of tables but can fill up quickly later in the day.Staff were extremely kind!

My favorite spot in St Paul for breakfast. Great variety on the menu, ingredients are fresh, and the coffee specialties are a delight to start your day. It's pretty much always busy, so parking is kind of a pain, it's street only. The space is bright and bustling, feels cramped at times. I like that you can walk in, seat yourself, order and pay through the QR code on the table, food comes quick, and you can take off once you're done. Some food items: The savory crepes are fantastic, so are the sweet ones, so I'm no help, but at least you can't go wrong with the crepes. Eggplant shakshuka is hearty and warm, great for MN winters. The bits in bowls, perfect for summer. Get the Manila mango, reminds me of Hawaii. The avo & egg toast with the grilled sourdough is also a solid choice, I love that you can taste the char on the bread. Basically order everything.

Still love it here, but man have the prices gone up. They do have super cute drinks and the crepes are good. But not a cheap coffee date spot.

Cafe Astoria is my favorite local cafe in the twin cities, specifically in my hometown of Saint Paul. This is a total gem! Astoria is a Filipino owned business, as a Filipino myself, I have to give major props to this company. I adore the menu and their coffee and tea varieties. They have it all from sweet treats, like crêpes to savory breakfast sandwiches and sides of fried potatoes. You can also have a side salad instead of potatoes for all of their entrées. I have had everything from the wise guy chicken sandwich (1000/10 recommend), banana strawberry Nutella crêpes, to trying just about every viral drink they have in the menu, there's something for everyone!Just thinking about the menu now is making me hungry, don't skip out on the grilled chicken sandwich, the chicken is extremely juicy, and the sandwich flavor profile is sensational!

Cafe Astoria has the cutest coffee and matcha drinks you'll ever see! Their specialty drinks are so fun - think s'mores, rainbow art, and gold flakes. Not to mention, they also serve yummy smoothie bowls and crepes. The cafe itself is super cute, too! Finding parking can be a bit of a hassle with all the permit-only street spots, but it's totally worth circling around to grab some great food and coffee at Cafe Astoria!

This place has such amazing drink! The services were great as well. My friends and I came to Cafe Astoria to do some planning for our trip, and we were in there for more than 90 minutes and we were approached by a staff member. They were nice enough to let us stay and informed us if it gets too busy, they will have to kick us out. Which it does get busy, but lucky there weren't many people and people were going in and out of the cafe. Therefore, customer services was great. I got the ube matcha teddy bear drink and that was delicious and yummy. I had a tough decision to order that or just a regular matcha, which I do not regret my decision. The breakfast sandwich I got was delicious as well with the scramble egg and sausage. The salad was tasty as well (i need to know the dressing for it). The ambiance was great and lively, people were going in and out and enjoying a little self-time. It was a great experience, but the only bad thing about this cafe is the parking. It is very hard to find parking around the place.

Astoria is my favorite cafe in the Twin Cities. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, Rex is especially helpful and remembers my name and what I order. Always delicious light and dark roasts, espresso wonderful special drinks as well as crepes and fantastic entrees. I recommend the Morracan Chicken Bowl. Oh, did I mention the pastries? Totally superior all around. (will add photos)
