"The best part of the draw is the bucolic nature. Probably pretty representative of Minnesota, so a good place to bring an out of towner. The wine is decent, with decent variety. It's a bit of a drive from twin cities, so maybe stop at the arboretum on your way there, make a day of it."
"I really enjoyed Sovereign Winery! It was a gorgeous day in MN. We had the 2 seasonal reds which we all enjoyed. It's a cool and relaxing setting. I would give it 5 stars, but for the price of the wine we drank could we please drink out of glass and not plastic glasses? (I had to buy wine glasses!) There was an event going on that I think took president... FYI the wine was not cheap! I think it might be time to order more glasses! The other 2 wineries we visited had glassware? I will say it is so nice to have some nice winery options here in MN."
"We just got back from our stay at Brambleberry. What a treat! The rooms were beautifully decorated and the food was absolutely delicious! We had so much fun at the Saturday night dinner, talking and enjoying delicious homemade wine and food. The owners are knowledgeable about what they are making, where it is coming from, and the way they grow and prepare the majority of the food they make!My only real caution is to say that WHEN you stay here, "(because you should!) do your best to drive up during the day. The B&B is a bit remote for this Chicago gal, and the roads at night are dark and twisty. We are looking forward to coming back!"
"Beautiful vineyard on the outskirts of Hastings. We parked there and did the Hastings 10 mile bike trail so we could enjoy a glass of wine after our ride. With this having been my first time there, I chose the $20 tasting. For that cost you get generous pours of 12 different wines. I chose bottles of my favs which included one white and 3 reds. Staff was excellent. There are so many seating options. We chose an outdoor table with umbrella in the vineyard. So pretty. Great experience!"
"We tried to stop here on our trip back from up North, but the single lane gravel driveway and tiny parking lot crammed with cars that were parked in behind one another was definitely not conducive to allowing us and our 16 foot trailer access to park and visit. Indeed, we were barely able to negotiate turning around once we arrived at the farm, while customers laughed and jeered, and no staff came out to greet us, much less offer assistance or let us know we could park anywhere else on the expansive property. So we drove to a brewery instead. Sorry I am unable to tell you anything about the wines, but hopefully this review will help someone in the same spot as we were."
"Had a great time enjoying the wine tasting package with my husband. Friendly, knowledgeable, and affordable wine options. Beautiful quiet setting."
"I have not actually been here yet but they came to a Science Museum event I attended so I was able to sample and learn. Things I learned:1. They are called Urban Forage because they is exactly what they do. They don't own an orchard but instead, forage fruit from yards around the twin cities. 2. People are grateful for them to come and clean up their trees of unwanted fruit. 3. They have a list of over 100 homes they can pick fruit from. 4. Honey crisp apples make horrible wine - something about the sugar and density but I forget the details. 5. I tried cherry and pear wines and preferred the pear wine. Nice change of pace. I am adding a visit to their physical building to my Try These Collection."
"Came here on a recommendation from a neighbor. We went mainly for the pizza on a nice summer night with the ability to eat outside under a tent in case it rained. I think they only serve pizzas on Friday and Saturday nights until the end of October. Check first! Overall, it didn't disappoint. The location is down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, about 10 minutes from Cambridge. Use your GPS to find it! Park on the grass right next to the grapes that will be making next year's wine. The menu is simple with about 6 or 7 different kinds of pizza and as many appetizers. Ordering process is at the bar and SLOW. We were grateful to have ordered before a large group arrived. Take your drinks with you and they'll bring out the food. Ordered the prosciutto/onion and the basil/pesto pizzas with a Mediterranean plate as an appetizer. Then, went outside and picked a table. The pizzas were excellent with a nice texture to the crust and fresh toppings. It looks like the cook them in an outdoor oven behind the main building. Had a flight of 4 wines for $9. Not as good a deal as was noted in the older reviews, but not bad. Wine was OK, but nothing to write home about. Favorite was the Stark Red.The only complaint was the appetizer. It didn't come out to our table until after we were done with pizzas and certainly not worth the $9. The plate consisted of a few very small pita slices, about a tablespoon of hummus direct from a grocery store plastic container, a half dozen pitted black olives and a few small slices of yellow peppers served on a wooden platter.Skip the apps and enjoy the pizza and wine! And, a word of caution - this is a pet friendly spot, but not all the pet owners are conscientious. Lots of dog poop on the grounds near the picnic tables!"
"We had a really pleasant experience going through the tasting process and learning about the wines. It was a nice day and we were able to walk over to the smaller patch of vines and enjoy that too. The staff was friendly and responsive and the wines were interesting and well-done. Seemed like a nice little addition to the Lake City experience."
"A fun place to hang out in the summer and sit outside. There was even a band while we were there. The tasting of about eight fruity wines is free and enjoyable, and if you buy a glass, he pours it huge. These are a kind of wine you have to really like to get into, for us they mostly tasted very syrupy, but fun to try."
"First time here. With new COVID responses in place the traditional tasting couldn't be offered. We did taste test the Crescent Moon. We got two glasses of it to drink outside. We bought a bottle of Danzinger Red to take home with us. Tables were spread out on the patio and there were others out in the yard in front of the patio. Additionally, there is an open covered pavilion with tables but probably not as many tables as they would typically have given the need for social distancing. All were full. The patio has an absolutely amazing view of the river valley and it's a shame they don't have umbrellas to make it shadier patio! I would have been game for drinking a whole bottle had it not been for no place to seek shade. We drank our glass and given it was 90 degrees, did not stick around."
"Wow! Something here for everyone! Ambiance, beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces, fireplaces and fire pits, mixed drinks, wine, and NA drinks, great service and vegan food options! Vegan pizza, Korean tacos, and more. Tacos were delicious."

We first rode our bikes on the nearby bike trail, knowing the reward of wine would be worth the workout. We signed up for a wine tasting session. Our guide was excellent. We tasted 16 wines, yes you read that right, 16 in combination of whites, reds, roses, and reserves. For $25, it was an excellent experience to learn about the many available options. I ended up wanting 6 bottles then decided I should become a member and get 25% off 12 bottles. Membership is free with the promise you will purchase another 4 bottles 3x year. No problem as I enjoyed many options. If you purchase a case, they even have an option of personal delivery. The grounds are beautiful! There are many outdoor seats. Take a walk to the lake to get a close up of the grapes and lake views. Walk the garden to find your zen. Beautiful, beautiful surroundings. We sat outside after the tasting and ordered a pepperoni pizza and crustinis with cheese spread. It was a perfect lunch to compliment our wine tasting. Loved our visit and can't wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed in October 2016. We arrived in the evening after a gorgeous drive in. Took advantage of the free wine tasting for guests, had a couple local beers and ordered a delicious pizza. Sherry gave us a great little tour of the B&B. The decor is just adorable. Retired to our room (Shepherd's Loft) with a very tasty bottle of wine, complimentary treats, and a movie. Our room was perfect for us, the smallest one I think, but plenty of room and a very nice bathroom. Even though the part of the house was built in the 20's, everything seemed new. Got wifi in our room. The bed and linens were super comfy.Breakfast was at a not-too-early 9:00am and was delicious. I was glad I didn't make lunch plans, we were barely hungry by dinner time. We got a fun little tour of the winery operations downstairs by Chris. We couldn't get the sheep or donkeys to come to the fence to be pet, but they are friendly. Sadly we had to head onto the next leg of our trip, otherwise we would have done some of the trails. Sherry and Chris were really nice, personable, and funny. We absolutely loved our short stay and plan to come back next year. There are a ton of places to hike, bike, canoe, eat, shop, all within 30-40 min of that area, but I love that their place is at the end of their own road.Stayed October 2016

If you're interested in getting away from the city for a little bit, consider Alexis Bailly for a glass of wine and enjoy the vineyard. They have the option to make reservations online but we ended up just walking in and they were able to accommodate us on the patio. Due to the pandemic, they are limiting people inside. The gift shop is open by request but you can order a glass of wine or buy a bottle right outside the front door. They are also doing curb side pick up and have picnic boxes available for purchase to go along with your wine. The wine overall is pretty good. I went with a dry white while my fiance tried the port and we both enjoyed our selections. The wine tastings are on hold for now but I am excited to return once they can bring that back to try more!Parking lot available near the front.

Stumbled upon this driving home from up north. Loved the relaxed atmosphere and the vibe. $10 wine tasting includes glass. The red blend and white are delicious. We had our dog and they offered us a leash to bring our dog on the patio. Owners are very nice. We will be back-especially seeing how close they are off the highway.

Urban Forage Winery and Cider House is a hidden gem of a winery located right in the heart of South Minneapolis. With an unassuming storefront of what looks like a house in the middle of an otherwise normal city block, you would never expect there to be a wine and cider making business occurring right inside those doors (and in the basement). They have a bunch of very unique flavors that seem to come from whatever they have received from their neighbors in the past few weeks which ends up with some really tasty flavors. You can order a flight of wine or cider, and I love cider so I had to go with the cider flight. They let you choose which ones you want so I chose a variety of the sweeter ones. The ciders were all absolutely delicious, and I am not a fan of a lot of ciders in the Minneapolis community because I feel they taste too much like beer, but these were truly good ciders. I believe my favorite was the honey one, but I may be mistaken since I'm writing this a little late! The waitress/owner was so kind to us. We told her we had never been there before, and she started bringing out some complementary samples for us to try some of the other stuff on the menu. I tried a beet wine which was surprisingly great as well as a non alcoholic cherry soda which was super tasty. They also sell some food, but it is mostly just typical brewery/cidery food of frozen food they'll cook for you and some pre-wrapped charcuterie boards. That being said, I was hungry, and still wanted some food anyway and the charcuterie board was surprisingly very tasty and filling. All the prices were very reasonable here and I really enjoyed my time, highly recommend anyone in the area to make a visit.

I was in Cambridge visiting friends today and we stopped at North Folk Winery on a whim. It's rustic and charming with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. There was a band playing and the place was packed and getting more packed by the minute. It's a family owned winery and the whole family (including lots of grandkids) were there helping out. This is definitely a kid friendly zone which I think is unique for a winery. I was a little skeptical of the wine at first because I don't prefer sweet, fruity wines but could not resist trying seven different wines for $5! Seriously, what a deal. They were no small pours either. While some of the selection was definitely too sweet for my taste, there were some solid wines. The new Frontenac was hands down my favorite. The owner was telling me about all the ongoing and upcoming events including winery tours and brick oven pizza nights. North Folk was definitely an unexpected, pleasant surprise. It is for sure worth a visit.

"I loved this place. It's spacious so we didnt feel crowded. The staff was friendly. The male owner was extremely nice and good sense of humor. Although we sat inside, the outside was way cool! I can't wait to go back and enjoy the fire pit. Oh and to top it off, nearly all the wine was really good. The buffalo burger was something I would have again."
"So fun! We didn't even know this was in our backyards in Rochester until we were invited by friends for a couples night out. Wood oven pizza + vineyard + local, fresh wine = perfection. This place is open year-round but nothing beats a nice summer night with good eats, laughter, and drinking. The pizza was on-point - ordered both the pepperoni and margherita. The char added character and the pizza was filling. One pizza is probably the right size for one person so be sure to order one for each and do mix and match as needed. Love the experience and look forward to taking friends and family here to enjoy."
"Really beautiful grounds, friendly staff, plenty of parking, and a cozy tasting room. We enjoyed the live music out on the patio. My only issue is that the wine was not very good quality. And overpriced at $17 per bottle. I mean, I know it is Minnesota, but I've also experienced better at other wineries like Anton Bailey in Hastings.Shawn's Tip: free cheese and sausage at Happy Hour! (We were there on a Saturday)"
"Had a great experience making our own wine! Great location close to the brained lakes area! The owner Sharon is very knowledgeable and has many unique varieties of wine to choose from! The shop is adorable, many unique gifts! Great girls trip idea! Our wine was delicious and I can't believe we still have 29 bottles to drink this winter!!"
"Cutest little winery! They've got all you need in a winery: private parking lot, gorgeous vineyard with plenty of outdoor seating (including a patio swing), indoor seating, and really friendly staff. Oh AND they've got snacks and beer for those who don't want to partake in wine.Great place for a date night, girls night, or a group! Would love to make another visit to Cracked Barrel this summer!"
"If you're in Darwin, MN looking for a restaurant that is not 85% fried food, serves more that Busch Latte, and does not have "Try That In A Small Town" on repeat, this might be your best bet. Joking aside, the pizzas were solid with no shortage of high quality toppings. Would probably call it 4.5 stars as the salads were a bit of an afterthought but this a functioning winery first, weekend restaurant second so they get a pass. Plenty of games and outside space for the kids too."
"Import Iberia has a wonderful selection of Spanish Imported Wines. They do local events and are currently working expanding their wines throughout the state!! Stay tuned for some of their delicious Imports in Liquor Stores and restaurants near you!"
"This place is so neat! Great views, great vibes, and great wines. We had a tasting and ordered the huge pretzel. Perfect spot to stop!"
"Matt..,amazing, knowledgeable. Very Wisconsin friendly . We hope he's here when we Come back for the PORT!!lovely winery. You'd never know it was in Wisconsin!Plenty of charging stations for electric cars. Truly vintage. Great place for a wedding- food delicious. Staff accommodating- thanks dear friend for recommending this place"
"This winery is in New Prague. It is the home and Vinyard of a cute family that also loves dogs. You will see their dogs roaming the property and they make their selves happy in many places. The house dogs might hop up in your lap to say hello by the fire. They welcome dogs there and the wibe is good here. The sit down area is cute. They have larger spaces they use for weddings and other events. They have bingo, crafts and other things going on all the time. Follow them on Facebook for better information."
"A Great Place to Relax, and Better-Than-Expected winesI tried 7 wines here (a 'flight' and I sipped from two others that came with me) and all but one were to my liking. I would never have expected a wine outlet in Minnesota to have such complex & interesting wines. The venue is comfortable - we sat outside for over an hour and despite a fast-moving downpour it was wonderful. The grounds are elegantly landscaped and we took a short walk afterwards. Our hostess was pretty elegant herself as well as helpful & charming - as good as they get! I bought two bottles of my favorite of the 7 wines I tried, "Unequivocal." Highly Recommended if you're in the area. Check It Out!"
"There were plenty of spots to sit and unwind, and the view was stunning. The level of friendliness was excellent. We ordered a charcuterie board and magarita flatbread, and both were excellent. Without a doubt, one of my favorite wineries to visit again. All the drinks that we tried were all delicious"
"Warehouse Winery is definitely a unique find in the Twin Cities. The place has a ton of character, wine is full of flavor, and the Owner (Billy) is very knowledgeable!I recommend giving the wine a try or schedule a tour of the facility. You can also find Warehouse Wine at many local restaurants and liquor stores including Byerly's and Lunds."
"We've been wine club members since the DDW opened, we love it! We brought our friends who are visiting from Denver & Orlando to experience our local winery. The place was hopping when we went there on a Friday evening. Three of us ordered glasses of wine and one in our party did a wine tasting w/ 5 unique wines. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We had a wonderful time as we always do!"
"Absolutely beautiful location!!! The food paired nicely with the wine and the wine was delicious! The staff was very friendly! I live an hour away and could see myself making the drive, even with these gas prices! Definitely check this place out!!"
"What a great day for 6 cousins looking for some great wine and a few laughs. Pat, you are a gem. We love everything about your wine, business, stories and your amazing animal rescue work. See you next year. Bring on the death scare."
"My mom and I were visiting Pepin, WI last weekend and drove through the little town of Maiden Rock. I guess by default this Cidery/Winery is technically in Stockholm by maps. I feel like i've been to a ton of breweries but yet I don't drink beer anymore since I gave up gluten. It's nice to have an option that actually includes me. When we came in the sweet lady and her old pup Rocky gave us the run down about ciders, how they work, and whats best to order.... We grabbed a flight of 2 ciders/ 1 mead/ 1 wine. From left to right in the picture of the flight:Honey crisp cider- sweet, crisp, would be a great first drink.Red Hawk cider- Wowza. This one stole the show, it was a spiced cider, sweet but not too sweet, needless to say we took a case of this back to H-Town. I WILL be looking for it in specs. Blueberry Mead- Whoa, not a true fan of mead, as I tried the blueberry and the raspberry both and truly didn't love the distinctness. It was sweet like the honey that ferments it but sour in a way. I think this was more of a personal preference thing. Syrah- The syrah was quite good and in my opinion a good pairing with the other three things because it has a quite dry and robust taste. It's probably different than any other Syrah i've ever had but it was tasty. We walked out the gazebo but there were a ton of gnats (seasonal), so we decided to stay close to the barn. Then we went into a corn Maze at the end. We had a blast together and would love to order from their website someday!"
"We saw an flyer for this place at RenFest. They are open for mead sales every Saturday in October, November, and December. They have about two dozen types of mead that you can sample for free and if you like a mead then fill up your growler. You can buy their growlers, but you save a lot if you bring your own. We filled up six growlers with various meads and we sampled all they had to offer. It's all self service here and it gets busy. Politeness goes a long way here. Be friendly and courteous. They have plenty of mead. You can't go wrong here."
"Our pubpass brought us here to try Thor's Hard Cider but when I saw how lovely the area was and how much I enjoyed the hard cider, I wanted to also try a Minnesota wine. The staff in the store was very helpful. I indicated how much I liked the cider and she steered me toward the roses. I was able to taste a couple versions and, surprisingly to me, chose the fruitier over the dryer version. Beautiful area, of course, we were there on the most perfect late summer day which only added to the beauty. Can't wait to open my new bottle of wine."
"Such a nice winery. I try to visit at least once every summer. I went to celebrate my birthday but we ended up getting there 1hr before closing. I ordered a wine slushy flight but some of the flavors weren't frozen/ready but they were still good overall. Prices were fair. The patio is nice & overlooks the grapevines. They also offer indoor seating as well. I believe both times I went the inside was being rented out for private parties. The staff are nice & attentive. In the past we've ordered some flatbreads and they come out cut in a heart shape, it's super cute. They taste good as well."
"Three of us stopped in here during our Ladies Weekend after snowboarding (ie flailing down the bunny hill) at Wild Mountain. Although we came here in the winter when everything was dead and cold, we still had a lovely evening at Wild Mountain Winery. The snow-covered grounds and cozy tasting room were still a treat. The quaint tasting room and wine samples really warmed us up.And the value was great! We shared 16 wine tastings for just $15 total! There's free popcorn, dark chocolate is provided for the last red wine, and you can also purchase a meat and cheese board. They give you a laminated wine list and a dry-erase marker, so you can make notes during your tasting. There is an assortment of seating, a few board games, and a guitar to enjoy between sipping. I am no connoisseur of wine, so all I know is I like the whites better than the reds haha. They started dry to sweet, and I liked the ones that were middle-of-road. Some we loved, some we didn't like at all. There was also a barrel aged cider in there, and we actually bought a bottle of that to bring home!"
"Must stop if you like wine. We sat ourselves and when busy we went to bar to order. Delicious food and wine. Beautiful drive from south metro area."
"No lie, one of my favorite wineries of all time. The owners were amazing. Immediately you will experience that MN niceness we are often known for. They are probably having more fun than you are when you come here, and that's what makes it even more charming. Homemade snacks for patrons, cheap and delicious wines (several unique ones you may not expect as well), and just a fun environment. We tried everything from a great shiraz to dirty socks and onion wine. You will not experience anything like this anywhere else in the region. And from the brief tour we received, they have ever more fun flavors nearing ripeness. Mint and jalapeño were among them. This was a later stop in a winery/brewery tour that, in all frankness, we may have never left had it been the first on the list. Do yourself a favor and come meet these fabulous people, and try their fabulous wine. I know I will be eager to do so again."
