Our group was seated right away on their patio and service was friendly and swift. This is a great place for a casual meal on Main Street in Hopkins, or a happy hour visit. It's particularly friendly for vegetarians and offered plenty of gluten free options as well. Our favorites were the Yum Yum bowl, Hot Chicken sandwich and Blackberry Mule, but everything we ordered was delicious."

"Went to try out Ray J's with some friends! I've heard many good things about the wings but if I ever see a juicy lucy I will be trying that!! I would recommend going during the morning as it was not busy at all. I also like that there was a parking lot so you don't need to stress about finding parking. I ended up getting a juicy lucy with bacon. It came with fries and the fries were perfectly seasoned and crisps. I feel as if I haven't had enough juicy lucy to compare but it's really good! I would say it's just hard to eat but the cheese gushing out is what makes it so good. I will definitely try the chicken wings next time. Overall, I would recommend trying this place out."

"Hands down my favorite burger place in the Twin Cities. If I'm getting a burger I really don't like to go anywhere else as it always feels like a letdown. My go-to is the mushroom and Swiss burger. I've gotten others too and liked them quite a lot but I just can't get enough of this one. We come here weekly and I nearly always get this. The other 10% of the time I get the elote wings or something that is on special. Never been disappointed. Also love the homemade potato chip side with dill dip. Mini donuts for dessert are great as well. You really can't go wrong as far as I'm concerned. Great lively ambience and always the same friendly workers. They don't appear to have staffing problems like other places."

"Casual spot for tasty Mexican bites. Went with a group and ordered the meal for 4 which was a great deal. 12 tacos (your choice), 4 elotes, and large bowls of rice and beans for $55. If you just order 12 tacos alone, that's almost $60 so this was a great value. The carnitas, shrimp and al pastor tacos were the favorites. And the elotes had lots of cotija cheese and mayo to give lots of flavor. Not healthy, but tasty! Added a chicken quesadilla since the guys were worried it wasn't enough food but that was only ok. And there was plenty of food without it anyway. We couldn't even finish the rice and beans. Everything came out super fast too."

"This is our go-to local bar for a cold beer, good bar food, and playing pull tabs. Stopped in here on New Year's day and had a delightful dinner. Hubby had the hot dago with french fries and I had the pan-fried walleye with au gratin potatoes and a side salad. Both dishes were hot and very tasty. All the servers and bartenders at Obb's are pleasant and very good at their job. Highly recommend!"

"This bar has a lot of personality. It is the definition of a dive bar. I do not know if it is located by a college but it has a high population of the younger crowd. They have bar seating at the full bar, dinning room seating and a decent outdoor patio. The dining area and bar have television placed around that is usually playing sports. They are not the most high-def TVs, but you can get the picture.The place is decorate with a bunch of dollar bills all over the walls and a neat chandelier made from bottles. There is metered street parking available within a reasonable walking distance and they check those IDs pretty tight at the door. Whether you are 22 or 62, you are getting carded.This bar stays open later than the other nearby ones, so it starts to get crowded later in the evening. Seating becomes a premium then. The bar also gets very loud. The staff there was very friendly and courteous. the servers brought their A-game.They have you typical bar food like burgers, sandwiches, salads and nachos. They have an extensive selection of burgers and beers. I ended up getting a South of the Border (SOB) Burger with fries. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. The burger and fries came out hot and fresh. It was not the best burger I have had, but it was good. Your typical bar burger. This is a nice bar to pass some time. It is nice that they have some food options to go along with their drinks. This is an old school bar, so they do not have any signature cocktails. They just have a full bar. I was teetering between a 3 and 4 star rating and 3.5 would be more appropriate. However, that is not possible so, it is closer to a 4 than a 3 so there it is."

"I hesitate to update my review because, selfishly, I don't want my Whistle Binkies to get overrun with new fans. But honestly, this place deserves all the love. Their menu is huge, but there are a few standout items that are so good they'll ruin you for overpriced fancy meals forever.Let's talk favorites: the stir fry and the oriental salad. Both are massive--like, bring-a-friend massive--and absolutely crave-worthy. But the real star? That Bloody Mary with their special spicy vodka. I'm not exaggerating when I say I dream about it. If it were socially acceptable to start every morning with one, I would. Whistle Binkies, don't ever change. Or get too crowded."

"My boyfriend and I stopped in here for some appetizers and were pleasantly surprised. The pub has the perfect in between feel. You could go for a nice evening out, or a casual lunch/appetizer date on a Wednesday afternoon like we did. We sat down and were greeted immediately by the bartender, Ben. He was definitely our style. He didn't bother us while we were eating or talking but was always aware in case we needed something. All we had to do was look his direction and he was on it. If we did want to talk he was all about it. I love staff who are able to read the energy and match it! We obviously had to order Cajun Dry-Rub Wings and Cheese Curds. If we weren't having a great time already, these sealed the deal. The wings were REALLY good. I've had a lot of bar wings and these are definitely up there. The curds too...Wow. I also decided to have a Blue Mule cocktail and it was incredible. I am not a fan of drinks that taste like the alcohol they contain. I didn't have that problem at Stout's. Another bonus? They give you a little mug filled with extra crispy potato chips. That's my type of place. It's not like they have much competition because it was really the only food place we could find nearby, but even if it wasn't this is where we'd want to be."

"This place is great.I don't know anything about hockey and I don't know who Tom Reid is. However, he must be a good dude because this is a fun place with great bar food.I ended up here during a recent trip to St. Paul sort fo late one evening looking for a bite to eat. The first few places I tried were all closed but said this was where the service industry crowd went after work. Good enough for me. Next thing you know I am ordering great draft beer, eating poutine, and having a solid burger. Damn, this block has some great food spots.The food was very good and they are open late. The crowd was fun and friendly as were the servers. Prices were pretty reasonable as well.If you find yourself in St. Paul, you need to visit this restaurant/bar. Get some poutine."

I had the half a sandwich (BLT with avocado) and salad (cranberry almond) and both were so good! The salad isn't anything super special ingredient-wise, but it was just delicious! The garden beds out front were full of lovely tulips and I hear that the patio is just gorgeous during the summer. I'll have to go back and check it out!"

My lovely wife and I have been coming to La Costa since they first opened, it's kind of our spot, so I was very excited when they invited me in to check out their new brunch offerings. They're mixing it up with some more traditional huevos dishes as well as some standard American ones with their own twist. Check it : Biscuits and Gravy ~ Two fresh baked buttermilk biscuits * country gravy * two eggs any style * crispy hash browns **sour cream based gravy here which is outstanding and unique. Hash browns are perfectly crispy and seasoned well. I'm told they're still working the kinks out with this one and I'm definitely headed back to give it another go!**Chilaquiles Platter ~ Crispy corn tortilla chips * green sauce * shredded chicken * beans * queso fresco * crema * cilantro * onion * two eggs **you have a choice of red or green chili sauce with these -- always go green cause their verde is some of the best I've had**Huevos Divorciados ~ Fried Eggs on Corn Tortillas * green and red salsa * chorizo * rice * beans * tortillas **I love the chorizo here and a little of everything off this platter slapped into a corn tortilla and it's heaven**Guacamole ~ available any time, but we always order it because it's the best in town!Brunch is being served Monday - Friday 8am-11am -- Weekends 8am-2pmThey're working on adding botttomless mimosas and the Bloody Mary here is very solid! "Listen. We had the most cheerful, helpful server on Thursday 8/8. She was server #11, blond, fantastically patient with a gaggle of kiddos and adults. And to top it off, the food was good. Hubs used to go with his family when he was a kid, and has fond memories of Manning's. Whenever we're in the Twin Cities we try to visit. The popcorn does not disappoint. Loved the tater tots. A great kids menu with breakfast at all hours (huge hit with the gaggle of kiddos). The adults enjoyed their dinners as well: Hawaiian Chicken sandwich, shrimp basket, sirloin, and bacon cheeseburger.Thanks Manning's and #11!"

It was our go to for Friday afterwork beers but after leaving the U several years ago I had not been back. However, recently I had a meeting on campus and we decided to go to Sally's afterwards for lunch. Although it was noon there were few diners. The menu is far from exciting mostly burgers and sandwiches. I had a reuben which was meh. The others in our group had equally unexciting choices. Service was good. Given the plethora of ethnic restaurants near the U there is really no reason to go to Sally's except for beer."

Definitely worth the price! $3.75 bloodies, what a great way to spend a Saturday lunch. I wasn't alone, the place was packed to the brim. Our server was awesome! I wish I had gotten her name, but she was little and seemed like a hard working young woman and was telling us about the lemonade drinks (shout out!) she knew the products and was pretty realistic about the rib recommendation lol.Last weekend some friends and I ordered via Door Dash and had a great experience. I got the pot roast melt with waffle fries. IDK why I rider waffle fries, they are not good. Not WB's fault lol. The sandwich is truly one of he best sandwiches around! Really tender crispy pot roast with Swiss and homemade onion strings. Horseradish sauce and the greatest au jus, on a hoagie bun. It's rich and big, super tasty. In my top two for French dip types. My friends got chicken tenders and they looked delicious. I've also had the guacamole bacon burger and that was delicious. Can't go wrong here.Seriously not gourmet, but good food, large portions, great service, and just really consistent in their brand. The menu is a big one to get through! Check it out before you go or it'll take you a while. I thinks everything is probably good"

"I must admit before starting- I was looking for a dive bar. Some where that had cheap drinks, bomb food and where we wouldn't be rushed out. I found that at Steve-O's!We stopped in on a weekday night with four adults and a baby. We weren't 100% sure a baby would be welcomed but after seeing several highchairs we went with it. Drinks are well priced, and a far cry from the over priced drinks downtown. We all enjoyed our food, from the wings, patty melt (super tummy) which also came with fried, to the mac and cheese (holy crap that was good). Everyone including the baby liked their food.The vibe is exactly what you would expect, a dive where most people seem to know each other. There is seating away from the bar as well, plus typical bar games. I'll be coming back, not only for the laid back vibe but also because the food and drinks were on point."

"This is the most sporty sports bar I have ever been to. Lots of seating and space. I was meeting an old friend for a drink before they fly back home. This is a convinient location. The service was a little slow on a sunday evening. But once the server noticed and aknowleged me the service was great. I guess make sure you make eye contact when you sit at the bar. I didn't have any food so I can't tell you about that. The drinks were good and moderately priced. I would go again and try the games and other things."

"Joseph's Grill is well known on the West Side of Saint Paul and has been in the area for over 15 years.One can tell they pride themselves on focusing on the family with at the restaurant.As you walk in the restaurant was clean.I was greeted by waitress with a smile.She riddled of breakfast favorites and encouraged me that I wouldn't be disappointed.Very knowledgeable.I decided to go with a local favorite,the country fried steak with American potatoes and sourdough for toast.The meal was hearty,making me feel like I was back at grandmas house on that occasional visit from college.Grandma would always fill me up since she knew things were tight and ramen was a common meal.Great job on the portions! The flavors were okay and typical,I was filled up.There was music playing in the background and several screens so I could catch up on the news and the games from the previous night.I came in right at 7 but the usuals started to trickle and as they were called by name and asked if they were getting the usual.I would thoroughly recommend Jospeh's Grill to anyone that likes huge portions and a classic breakfast."
