"A Near Perfect Place?Surprisingly, they did everything right.Server was awesome and paid attention to our needs. Was willing to work with our dietary issues. The dinner tonight was with my lady friend who is Vegetarian... You know the one.We ordered a host of items and every one was either was solid. Gyoza (veggie) to the main courses... Solid."
"Tenka Ramen is a true hole in the wall! We were craving ramen and had yet to explore Minneapolis' best ramen spots, so we researched and landed on Tenka. I am not a ramen expert, but the food was delicious! I had the Spicy Miso - great flavor, not overwhelmingly spicy. The service was fast, and the atmosphere gave you small, family-owned vibes. It's a great spot if you need a ramen fix!"

"I had the Char Sui shredded fried ramen, it was raman-ish, it was good, I like raman.Out of all the many restaurants on this block all right next to each other, this place has by far the best ambiance. But I really like the bahm mi sandwiches at the end of the block. Skip the Cajun and Chinese place."
"Starting first at Kyuramen! the beginning of a sssssooooo Special " girls-night-out" style mom and elder daughter AMAZING night/ special time together starting here at Kyuramen in EAGEN then going to the beginning night of the Halloween Pumpkin Spectacular at the Minnesota Zoo... first time ever!We were walked to a Japanese style tatami feeling booth/ room. This cozy intimate space with table and 4 chairs was curtained off in the front with Japanese curtains BOLDLY imprinted with Japanese art/letters/ symbols. The furniture nice clean simple lines modest oak chairs and table. Just perfect! The menu was extensive and quite wonderful. My daughter had their famous egg dish Omurice ( see video) which she loves loves. I had a perfect pork based extremely delicious ramen dish with The broth had no " instant/ high MSG" packed soup flavor. It was definitely slow cooked and simmered with excellent ingredients and seasoning. THIS is rare at a Ramen restaurant- - most are too tempted to cut time and budget by adding instant soup mixes loaded with too much of everything and missing the flavor from soup broth slowly stewing with real beef, pork. And the natural deliciousness of natural beef and pork fat stewing slowly for hours. At most ramen restaurants I rarely finish the bowl - - eat maybe 1/3-1/2. That night I FINISHED the whole bowl and loved the broth so much I packed it and a tiny amount of noodles to go! Crazy. And my great uncle immigrated from Japan in 1886, grandparents in 1900, so I grew up with genuine delicious home made Japanese food.Kyuramen was the Best ramen I have had in a long time, in several states!"
"This was my first time visiting this establishment. I'd heard some reviews from friends that have been and I decided to check it out. Labor Day holiday sick of barbecues nobody wants to cook and heat up the house and we all had a taste for Asian food. We went in the place was unassuming from the parking lot as it's tucked in nestled in between several other stores in a strip mall. But it was very inviting when we walked in. We were greeted right away we were asked if we wanted to be seated or get something to go I opted for to go. While I peruse the menu I noticed the sake/sushi bar. There was a gentleman there making it all of the sushi rolls fresh to order right in front of you You could sit there and eat and have sake or if you ordered it it would be brought to your table. The restaurant itself was pretty inviting it's somewhere that you could go for a nice date night or for a quick lunch or for an evening happy hour with friends. The other thing that I noticed was the menu the prices were unbelievable and I mean that in the best way possible Also the serving sizes were perfect. Oftentimes when you come to restaurants like these the portion sizes are so big that you end up wasting food. For all of the items that we got the average price was $6 per item for instance the chicken wings come in an orders of four wings for $5.95 the gyoza's or six for $5.95 The sushi was average $8 per roll but they had a double roll for $13 which is two rolls or 12 to 16 bite size pieces which was perfect. I really like this because when you're ordering for multiple people not everybody wants the same thing and sometimes people just want what they want and they don't want to share and their portion sizes were perfect for this very reason. The food was packaged very nicely it traveled well and there wasn't a bite left it was delicious. We will definitely be back to dine in and try the ramen since that is what they are famous for.*The only critique that I would have for this establishment was the short ribs.. although they were seasoned to perfection and the price was reasonable at around $8 for four pieces they were extremely thin and what seemed to be a cheaper cut of meat. As I said they were seasoned perfectly and they were worth the price I suppose but I would rather see a better cut of meat and pay $15 for four good size spare ribs other than that the food was amazing and we will definitely be back and I would highly recommend!!"
"We have gotten Kataki 3 times now and WOW I'm so impressed with their sushi! I hadn't heard of it until my brother visited from out of town and suggested it and now it's one of our favorite places. The quality is amazing and the sushi is fresh and unique.I've never sat in the restaurant so I can't speak to the ambiance - we have only ever gotten take out. However we have ordered by calling and have never had any problems with the order or service when we pick up.We have tried multiple rolls including the Spicy Girl Roll, Sexy Girl roll, and Kataki roll. Everything has been delicious and I can't choose a favorite! Also don't sleep on the stir fry ramen, it's delicious. Get the chicken! I've tried the steak one as well and they're both amazing."
"This is a great hidden spot for Ramen. Inside a strip mall by the Cub foods. The decor us adorable and you can sit right at the counter top and slurp your meal or in a private booth/room.Definitely try the Ramen and and appetizer. Our favorites were the Ying yang bowl- which is half pork and half shrimp Ramen; Tonkatsu Ramen bowl; shrimp tempura app, chili garlic damage and purple sweet potato cake- lite/airy/ sweet. Would like to come in a group to share allergies and have an experience. They take reservations, but wasn't necessary on a weeknight for us."
"I'm glad I came here. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was wonderful. I loved how clean the place was. I ordered a hot sake, Takoyaki and the Niku Soba with extra toppings of black fungus, enoki mushrooms and a half boiled egg. Both so delicious! If I didn't drink all that sake and half the water, I would have emptied the bowl. The broth was soooooo delicious! I felt so bad when I couldn't take another spoonful of the broth after eating all the noodles and toppings 10/10 recommend!!!"
"Yum is all I can start with! My date and I ordered delivery and we got two chicken stir fry ramens, age tofu, and gyoza. I added shredded char siu pork to mine which just made it over the top delicious! I was blown away with how good this ramen was and actually the age tofu (fried tofu with Japanese classical skewer sauce, tapped with bonito flakes) was my favorite part of the meal, it was just sooo good! It held its crunchy consistency even for takeout and towards the end of the meal, just so flavorful and the perfect appetizer! I didn't take any photos so you'll just have to trust me on this. Ichiddo Ramen is so good! I'll 100% be back and loved that the prices are decent. We got our whole meal for two people for just under $48 which included delivery fees, so well worth the cost!"

Zen Box had tons of people on a Tuesday night. I was able to sit at the bar. It was a fun, loud, modern vibe inside the restaurant. The servers and bartender were really friendly, great service. The food was good overall. The gyoza is deep fried which resulted in a hot and crunchy appetizer. The dipping sauce was delicious as well. The ramen tasted good overall, but I've had better ramen so I rated overall 4/5 stars. The broth was extremely salty, the pork was tender and cooked perfect, the eggs were the best part! Delicious food and good drinks! I'd recommend stopping by Zen Box if you're in town.

Tenka Ramen has some of my favorite veggie ramen. Most vegetarian ramen is bland or strays too far from the traditional ramen recipes, but this is a great alternative that is tasty and traditional. Their japanese buns are also very good and filling. Fried rice is standard. The service is friendly and prompt, it's a seat yourself enviornment and they bring the food out to you. Very casual spot with laid back vibes. In the heart of uptown so make sure you patronize this local business!

Ishita Ramen was a pleasant dining experience and the service was excellent. My brother and I both had their Spicy Muso Ramen which apparently in new to the menu. The flavor and spiciness were perfect. Only negative is that the dish was a little light on the pork portion in comparison to ramen noodle restaurants in Southern California

What a fun and delicious place! Super yummy - all that we ate. The broth in the ramen- so amazing. The different components in each ramen were fresh and so tasty. We were seated in a booth which was a great private space. Push a button when ready to order or ready for your bill. The service was fabulous- smiles, jokes and super helpful. Can't wait to go back and try more options. More than just a meal- a fun experience.

First of all - WOW we came here on a weekday afternoon when it wasn't too busy. The server was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. The restaurant was clean and welcoming to everyone, and accommodated my family and son whom needed a highchair. We started with the spicy cucumber salad. It was tangy and fresh! A great starter. Next we tried the sweet potato fries. They were cooked perfectly with a nice dipping sauce that tasted fresh & homemade- like a homemade tomato ketchup. Following this we had the chicken kaarage and just wow.. delicious! i couldn't stop eating this dish! The skewers were so delicious and cooked perfectly, still very juicy and so much flavor! The char was on point. The steamed fried chicken bun - OMG I could have had 50 of these!! The dragon roll was also very delightful, packed with flavor. the outside was crispy and the inside put together beautifully. Lastly, the steamed rice.. again, very good. Nice flavor & the rice was not soggy or dry! We absolutely will be back. Thank you for the amazing meal, s/o to Haiku!

I was in the area at the time and was craving ramen. So I found Kataki Sushi and Ramen. I've never heard of this spot, and am always excited when I discover a new ramen spot.Wanting to have a good feel of Kataki, I had both sushi (Nigiri Combo, I forgot the name exactly), and ramen (Tonkotsu Ramen).Every ramen spot I try, I also must try their Chicken Karaage. Ramen Spots usually have the best Chicken Karaage. The Chicken Karaage here was... mid. It didn't have the nice crunchy exterior. It wasn't bad though, but not amazing either. I give the Chicken Karaage a 2.5/5.The Tonkotsu Ramen was... not really Tonkotsu. Tonkotsu is an emulsified pork bone broth. It's supposed to be thick and fatty. The broth here was more of a chintan style, meaning a clear and lighter broth. When tasting though, the ramen actually wasn't bad. It was nice and decent. The broth was flavored really well. The chashu was thinly sliced and delicate, and was savory and subtly sweet. I give the Tonkotsu Ramen a 3/5.With this experience so far, why did I rate Kataki 5/5? Because of the sushi! Again, I had the nigiri combo, and it was AMAZING! Great fish quality. What I love about Kataki is that they add a bit of flare to some of their nigiri. Meaning for some nigiri pieces they may add an interesting sauce, paste, and/or fish eggs (caviar/roe). See my pictures. My favorite nigiri was the fatty belly salmon topped with roe. This was probably the most luxurious salmon I've ever had. It was a big cut, fatty, and melt-in-your-mouth like. It also came with a California Roll, which was ok. Not only was the sushi good, it was also affordable. This nigiri combo only costed around $25. The sushi here is 5/5.I came in for ramen, and came out with the conclusion that this may be one of my favorite sushi spots now. Great sushi, affordable, and good service. If you're a sushi lover, you must give this spot a try.

I'm just adding an update to my existing review to say they do sell sake now! Everything in my previous review about the great food and service is still accurate. We have dined here and gotten take out many times since they opened. We're repeat customers since we love this place.

I am absolutely obsessed with this place! The ramen is perfectly authentic and tastes amazing - the prok belly is my favorite. Also, there are lots of yummy appetizers. Limited drink options and the sodas come in cans (not something I mind, just an fyi). The restaurant is quite small, which makes it a wonderful intimate experience. Service has always been good, and they go the "extra mile" with takeout - they keep the noodles and broth in separate containers so nothing get soggy during transport.

"I grew up in the NE suburbs around North St. Paul and have appreciated the change to more diverse cuisines offered to patron/esses. Recently just moved back to northeastern suburb from the western suburbs, and of course with any move, my biggest worry is where will I get my staple foods of sushi, great Ramen, and other fixings? I decided to try this place since the menu looked promising in terms of a good and flavorful bone-based broth. For whenever I have a Ramen craving, this will be my go to since it is just a few miles away. Um...what can I say? Service is knowledgable, attentive and kind. What more do you want from service? The ambiance is nifty. Contemporary decor in the style of Japanese tapestries and prints. There are two menus: 1.) For the Ramen, other entrees and of course appetizers, drinks and desserts and 2.) A menu for specifically for poké bowls that have been so popular in recent trends as well as many options for the most experienced Boba tea lover. I have been here a handful of times and have tried the seaweed salad, Agedashi tofu as appetizers, and ramen (char-siu) tonkatsu, and buta-niku soba. For the Niku soba, I always add kikurage (black mushrooms). Review:1.) Niku soba- the broth is my favorite. Depth, body, well rounded, and with the umami everyone wants to taste. The pork belly is...I do not know what the flavoring is! Maybe teriyaki? It is a sweet, tangy and umami flavored char siu cut thin (pork belly) dressed with sesame seeds that makes the dish along with the broth. Noodles are chewy and not gummy or unpleasant, the ingredients fresh and everything well balanced.2.) Tonkatsu Char-Siu Ramen- I am writing about both the tonkatsu broth and the dish "char-siu" ramen. Okay, for the less than knowledgable- char siu means taking the bacon and fat back of a pig and slicing it crosswise (transverse/sectional) rather than longitudinal to make bacon. The broth is less bold and full than the Niku soba broth and yet no less tasty nor balanced. It was more pork and umami forward. The accompaniments were a full amount of additions, which would be good for a newbie "ramen" customer: Half a soft boiled egg, kikurage (black mushrooms), bamboo slices, scallions, and fish cake. A traditional broth matched with all of the additional toppings!I know this sounds silly, but I also am extremely glad to see good, well steeped tea (at least, there was no tea bag, and the saturation of flavor was great). The presence of REAL chopsticks, complete with chopstick holder, and clay (I think?) dish wear was a treat. Okay so why not 5 stars? Admittedly, I am blessed to be fortunate to have tried ramen in a myriad of places around the globe and give out five stars sparingly. BOTTOM LINE: Craving Ramen? Good Japanese appetizers, a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Japanese beverages, poke bowls and boba tea? Stop by here. It is beyond worth while!"
"The sushi was excellent. I tried several of the usual rolls like Alaska and Philadelphia and they were very well done. I had a couple of the fancier rolls and they are quite a meal. Overall this is a very good sushi place. I did notice that couples say side by side here and not across from each other."
"I really enjoyed this little spot! Food was hot and fresh and had great flavor! 22. Chicken Chashu Yaki Udon was a great classic meal. Perfectly cooked and tender with yummy mild flavor.3. Spicy Miso Ramen with pork was definitely spicy and had a unique flavor. Overall quite yummy. 14. Chicken Chashu Fried Rice had great flavor and was very fresh. Ebi Fry (crispy shrimp) was the only dish we wouldn't get again. It was fresh, but it really wasn't anything special. I'd say the others dishes made up for this one. I would like to see more friendly and engaging employees. We tried to get some water, but it was warm and there was no ice. Everything else was fine, so not a huge deal. Overall we'd totally come back! Fast, fresh, and casual spot!"
"When they say spicy, they mean it! Food was fresh and delicious, but they do not go easy on the spice in the their spicy ramen broth! I like spice, but this was INTENSE. Another in my group got a sushi burrito and it was excellent. Service was good and atmosphere was casual but nice. I'll definitely be back to try it again, but opt for a not spicy item next time"
"Great flavors, fast service, economical prices - 4 stars!Ichiddo is a local chain restaurant. It isn't a fancy ramen place. But the food is great. And the prices won't break the bank.I had the beef ramen (one of the top sellers) and 3 different appetizers. Everything I ate was very good. The ramen was flavorful along with interesting textures - I really enjoyed it. Despite being busy as hell, the service was excellent.I had to try Ichiddo after reading the silly first review, which was only one star. I disagree. Personally, I don't give a crap if the ramen is "authentic" or not. It tastes good and that's all that matters. This is a nice addition to the food scene in this part of the NW metro.Thumbs up!- Maxx"
"This place was recommended on a "where to eat" video I watched and I walked all around to find it. It's in the food court area closer to Nordstrom, fyi. Crispy Chicken Ramen was perfect for me. For $15 I satisfied my craving for some salted broth with deliciously cooked noodles. The chicken didn't remain crispy for long but paired well with the cabbage and corn. There was 1 tiny piece of fish cake in here too. Taro Boba Milk Tea - sweet treat that paired well. Boba is always refreshing Glad I stopped in!"
"I choose this place because I enjoy ramen. What stood out is the diversity of the menu and drinks. The spicy seafood ramen bowl is excellent. Broth is well balanced not too spicy and salty. Calamari is deep fried to perfection with the sweet / spicy sauce. Edamame comes out nice and warm with a sprinkle of salt that just attacks your pallet. Overall, I enjoyed this place and will be back. Now if your thinking should you go try... please go try because you won't be disappointed!!"
"Fantastic ramen. I ordered extra noodles and the server recommended I also get extra broth. They weren't kidding, the extra noodle was a full second serving. The broth was delicate and flavorful.I added hot oil about halfway through and will probably do that from now on. Not overpowering, but definitely a spicy kick. It turned the broth orange!Highly recommend."
"Service is a little slow, but a nice atmosphere and servers are nice That have AYCE Sushi on select items and you fill it out on a paper form, from 2pm-close Sushi is tasty but sometimes the topping sauce overpowers the overall taste of the fish Definitely recommend if you are looking for some eats around the UMN campus area in East Bank"
"I was craving a poke bowl and gave up to go eat sushi.... When I walked in I saw they had a poke bowl !!!!They made it to go for me and even customized it adding some Krab salad to it!!They were very patient making what I asked for..... and it was amazing!!!"
"Oh my gosh the Lo Mein and chicken wings were what I got and they were INCREDIBLE!!! The service was super fast and the food was delicious. I loved the atmosphere and the staff were incredible"
"Hidden culinary gem in albertville Mn of all places. I'd eat off the floor on here the entire place is spotless. food and service are top notch! this is what this community needs are more gems like Ton Ramen where service is standout and the food speaks for itself. come check em out. we lovvvvvve this place."
"The long awaited ramen place is finally here and the food is not disappointing! The atmosphere is cute with a Japanese decor theme. While the menu isn't huge, it has a little of everything for both novice ramen eaters to veteran ramen connoisseurs (well, almost). The noodles are nicely cooked so that they are slight chewy and not mushy... all the fixings are well thought out. The egg yolk from the ramen is slightly sweet which pairs really well with the flavorful broth for example. The pork is also slightly charred to bring out the smoky flavor. The servers will happily offer forks for the chop-stick challenged, and they can helpful if you are undecided. This place is perfect for the snowy winter of MN!"
"Just had jhol momos. Excellent! Restaurant is basic and clean. Food is wonderful! Service is friendly."
