We also got the vegetable fried dumplings which were like $1 a piece and very small. I'd pass on these as an app. The bubble tea with ice cream on it looked very enticing but didn't get around to it. Try it and let us know what you think in your review!"

Rachel W. "Very pleasantly surprised. Went for a friends birthday dinner and the owner was so great - she took pictures for us and helped serve a birthday cake for him herself. Our chef was probably the highlight. He was funny and interactive, which is a big part of the experience. The food was good too - typical hibachi. Drinks were delicious though! Some higher priced than others but the raspberry pina colada was delicious - some ice chunks though made it a little hard to drink. Overall, for Rochester, not a bad place and I'll probably come back."

Ethan H. "Kinzo Udon fills a niche of fast, well-priced, yet quality food that's disappearing fast. There's a high degree of customization available, starting with choosing one of six broths. Of the four I've tasted, the beef broth with white pepper is my favorite. It's very rich with a flavor deep enough that you want to drink down every bit once your noodles are gone. From there you can add scallions (do), tempura flakes (don't, unless you want your bowl to quickly feel like mushy cereal), and a range of meat and egg options. If udon isn't your thing, they've got a couple rice bowls too.Service is quick and friendly, done cafeteria style with self-serve tempura sides to add once you've received your main dish. The environment is nice too, highly recognizable as a former Punch Pizza.Kinzo Udon is still in its first month, so there are a couple growing pains. The biggest thing that needs attention is temperature regulation. While I haven't received a cold bowl in my two visits, I wouldn't have minded if they were hotter. Same goes for the tempura. Also, the ordering system should be clarified. They hype up their paper ordering sheet online and throughout the store, but then you actually order via an electronic kiosk. No big deal, but a bit confusing at first. All in all though this place is a welcome addition to the UMN food scene, and I'm excited to see them grow!"

I'm not vegetarian but if you are it is made with beef broth. It's absolutely delicious and fresh. We always get the cream cheese puffs for an appetizer and you can't go wrong with these either. Love everyone that works there too. Service is super fast and friendly even if the place is crowded. Love talking to the owner Minh when we see him. Patti I. "I came here with a friend for a quick dinner. I don't love a tablet ordering system. On request we were given printed menus but I went ahead with the tablet, ordering the daily spicy bean noodle special appetizer, Sichuan green beans, and chow fun. (I know, not a Sichuan dish but my friend wanted something non-spicy.)A server brought our order to the table, minus the appetizer. When I asked, he went back to the kitchen and a few minutes later came out to tell me that it wasn't available. He asked me to substitute a different day's special, but none appealed to me, so I told him just to skip it. The green beans were limp and bland. We asked for salt and chili oil, which made them better. Ironically, the chow fun was the best part of the meal, although the portion was small. When it was time to pay, I tapped the screen for our server, and when she handed us the bill, the appetizer was still on it. I had to ask to have the charge removed. The decor of the place is nice, but there are Sichuan restaurants in town with better food, better service, and larger portions, so next time I want a Sichuan meal, I'll go elsewhere."

Was very pleasantly surprised by just how GOOD the food we ate was!We started with the short-ribs - thin slices of succulently seasoned and marinated nibbles of goodness! Smallish - but perfect for two to share. We also had the seasoned cucumber salad which had a little after-bite of heat, but in a "Minnesota-appropriate" way. It was cool and "hot" and a refreshing contrast to the other dishes!Hubby had the Chicken Ramen - flavorful with crispy chicken on top and he added ginger and bamboo shoots for an extra kick and crunch. I had the "signature ramen" (Char Siu) and it was REALLY good and tasty! The pork broth and noodles with the three pork belly medallions and half of a soft-boiled egg were incredible! The service (we were in for lunch) was friendly and punctual. Highly recommended!!"

Jennifer L. "Had heard about this place opening from my friends, it sits inside the Best Taste of Pho Saigon, so you won't see a Oc 86 Cali sign; the chef who was hired to make the dishes is from Cali. The ambiance was nice and quiet and is nicer than the usual hole in the walls. They have an open sauce bar with premade options such as muoi ot, nuoc mam cham, nuoc mam gung, muoi ot xanh cham, along with extra chilis and limes available to adjust to taste. The food options were amazing and fresh, and it was great being able to get my seafood fix since I've been craving Oc and Lau in OC; definitely will come back again! The best part is it's been 12+ after eating there and I haven't had any food poisoning symptoms, so you know they adhere to food safety protocols and their food is fresh! The owner was super easy to talk to and the service was great! If you get to talk to her you'll get a huge shocker at how old she actually is! She looks amazing!!! Joe M. "Just got off of work and was feeling awfully hungry. My co workers have this strange obsession with this place and claim that its the best. Somehow, I'm not convinced. This was my second time trying China Dragon. The first time I had sweet and sour chicken, wontons and sesame chicken. The chicken didnt "wow" me at all. Just tasted okay. That's the impression I got from it. Just your average chinese restaurant with typical american chinese food with no orginality. That was many months ago. After listening to both my co workers raving about this place today, partnered with my empty stomach, I caved in and figured I would give this place a second chance. I ordered the House Special Mei Fun and the Singapore Fried Rice (spicy fried rice apparently). I hurry home to dive into my dishes. I was pleased with the mei fun. Had shrimp, chicken, beef and vegetables in it. It wasn't too greasy and had a pretty good taste. The beef I could tell was that cheap beef with the red marks on it that is synonymous with all chinese places it seems. Noodles were good. Then I tried the fried rice. I was expecting it to be spicy but there was NO SPICE! It tasted alright but I was looking forward to that kick in my fried rice. So I loaded it up with Franks Red Hot Sauce because I wanted spicy rice damn it! After this meal, I feel the same as I did before. This is just a ho hum chinese joint. The food is alright and is reasonably priced but is no different from the dozens of other america. chinese food places in the area. If you are in the area and need some standard chinese food to fill you up, I guess this is the spot."

This place is described as "Traditional hand pulled noodles and vibrant art in an open kitchen setting". Somehow, even this is an under-sale. The space is absolutely stunning. From the wall art to the replica balcony, to the furniture and custom silverware and plating...this is "master"class in restaurant decor. I am thoroughly impressed, even before ever laying eyes on the menu. Noodles both cold and hot, soup, dumplings, scallion pancakes, wontons, fried rice, desert and even milk tea. You'd be hard pressed not to find something that satisfies your liking on this menu. It seems endless. But hand pulled noodles are a must. Hand pulled noodles are a rarity stateside. Master noodle happens to be Minnesota's first. Sure It is time consuming, but so worth the effort. These Hand pulled noodles may be imperfect in shape but oh so perfect in texture and taste. You honestly can't go wrong with the garlic chicken noodles. It's sweet with just a little kick, but the chew of the noodle is everything. Easily one of the better restaurant experiences I've had, and I've had quite a bit. Master Noodle is the fix I never knew I needed, but now I can't stop wanting."

The ambiance was soothing, soft with warm lighting, if only I had a massage and hot soak with my meal, that'd be the ultimate dream. We came near opening on a Saturday and were one of the first so we were seated quickly. Our server was amazing, super friendly. Food came quick, it's all family style. We started with some mocktails, the guava mule and lemongrass palmer, these were some of the best mocktails I've had. Not super sweet, refreshing, sends a wake up jolt to you. Food was where we were left a bit disappointed. Every dish just seemed to miss the punch of flavor you want in Laotian, Thai, and other southeast Asian cuisines. Aside from the khao poon, that had too much fish sauce. The sticky rice and laab beef dish was good, I would have liked more heat and lime. The basil wings were crispy and juicy, but could have used more salt, it didn't seem to have any seasoning. The walleye was probably the most disappointing, almost like bland fish nuggets that the tamarind sauce couldn't even save. I'd give this place another go for the mocktails and some apps."

A big family group was finishing up a meal, and another table looked like another family group had just left. The first page of the menu had familiar items like pho, but most of the menu had shellfish dishes I had never seen before, including shellfish salads. They also had balut, a delicacy I had never seen on a menu before. We just had to try the balut with satay, and our server kindly made sure we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into. We also ordered okra with fermented tofu sauce and pho with all the fixings. I enjoyed the balut. The satay sauce made it seem like a simple duck egg with other things in it. The okra was grilled tender, and it went well with both the tofu sauce and satay. I was slightly disappointed with the pho broth, though. My spouse enjoyed it, but I thought it was much better with a squeeze of lime. The service was attentive and friendly, and the space was brightly decorated and well kept. There was a single large screen television with a music program. It seems like a nice place to take a family. One drawback: there aren't many choices for people who want a vegetable-centered dish. Still, I'd love to come back sometime and try some of the many shellfish dishes."
