Naomi G. "Woah! I just had the roast beef sandwich "with everything" for lunch--best sandwich of my life, made my whole day! They do not skimp on the beef or toppings, and the bread is perfect. Very big, satisfying sandwich, although I won't really be satisfied until I have it again!"

Chris C. "We've visited the St Paul Meat Shop on a few other occasions. Not only have we enjoyed each item we have tried, we have been able to find some items or cuts that other butcher shops don't have available. St Paul Meat Shop markets themselves as St Paul's only whole animal butcher shop. One of our favorite items is the pastrami. Their pastrami is amazing! Made and smoked in house. It is sliced thin and makes a great sandwich. They also have turkey which I believe is cooked sous vide. Our last visit we picked up some skirt steak and their juicy lucy burgers. As we were checking out, there was one condiment that we forgot and it didn't appear that they had that. The very nice gentleman was able to locate some for us and helped us out. Quality and service has always been top notch."

Lorraine N. "Reunited and it feels so good----Kowalski's is my favorite grocery store to shop at---and since moving across the river I just did not get a chance to skip-a-doodle over to St. Paul that much---I was so happy to discover that there is one in Woodbury and close enough to do my shopping at----I gleefully entered the store and got one of my preferred little two tiered carts. I also enjoyed that there were not a ton of brats running around in big ass plastic car carts. Kids ruin my grocery store experience because they are always zigging when I want to zag. There was a vast array of samples and unfortunately for my wallet I ended up buying pretty much everything I sampled. Hahahahahaha that is a damn good marketing tactic. The old lady doing the Bacon demo needed to put a sock in it though---she never came up for air and was a bit pretentious. I did buy the bacon because even though she got on my nerves I enjoyed it. There is so much inside this fabulous store---flowers, gifts, cards, wine, Aveeda products, Cooks of crocus hill , fancy olive oils and seasonings, and cheeses---the wonderful cheeses----I specifically would shop here just for cheese.I got quality ingredients and seriously I don't feel like I did too bad on my budget. I indulged in some gourmet items that I cannot get at other grocers. Potter crackers, fresh Alaskan wild caught coho salmon, Waygu beef, velvet honey butter, northern lights Bleu cheese.I picked up a few recipe cards and enjoyed the friendly check out boys --one who took my groceries to my car for me. This place is the stuff my entertaining and food dreams are made of..."

Grass Roots Gourmet

Annie D. "My favorite food is cheese.I enjoy almost any kind of cheese except Kraft singles and this really stanky cheese I bought in the Zurich airport during a layover in 2005.Grass Roots Gourmet sells GOOD cheese. It's all local to Minnesota and Wisconsin, which I love. We live in cheese country, after all... why buy French brie when ours is even creamier?I bought the makings of a fancy cheese plate to bring to a party here and found everything I needed. The guy helped me pick out a variety of things that would pair well with apples, plums, grapes (from the Produce Exchange) and this yummy garlic pepper jam from Grass Roots. He set me up with some samples and all of his recommendations were perfect. We had this rich brie, creamy Gorgonzola, tangy Monah (hard and sharp like Parmesan) and unique stinging nettle Gouda. The first three were excellent with fruit and the Gouda was a total stand alone. They have all kinds of flavored Gouda, and this one was a winner (nettle tastes like it has a touch of onion/garlic to it). I had avoided this place in the past because I thought the prices would be outrageous, but the prices were surprisingly low for the quality. You could easily spend the same amount on cheese at Trader Joe's, honestly. And even though the selection is small, it's not limited. Other than cheese, they have all sorts of local meats, jams, honey and things of that grocery nature. The deli meat is the only thing that isn't local (Boarshead). I usually go for the garlic pepper jam whenever I stop by. Tip: -They validate parking, just like the other businesses in the Midtown Global Market."

Jazmine D. "Ive never been to this place, so I thought it was time to drop in and take a peek. When I came in I realized that this place was actually bigger then I had thought it was. There was alot going on with it. There was a giant variety of sausages, premium meat cuts, cheeses, enen pretzles to taste. They had everything you would need to cook a delicous dinner. The store was super clean and the employees were friendly enough. I was especially amazed by the giant piles of bones for sale in front of the store. I was alittle sad beacuse I had actually went out to eat before comming in and actually diddnt need anything for dinner. Next time I want a BBQ at home, ill be back!"

India Bazaar

India Bazaar

Amy C. "It doesn't surprise me that mine is only the second review for this hidden treasure in Eagan. My Indian friends let me in on the secret, and while I wish nothing but amazing success for this cafe, part of me wants to keep it on the down low so that it doesn't become too busy to maintain the exceptional quality they currently have. My friends were ecstatic to find India Bazaar, for the grocery as well as the amazing food. I was thrilled that they serve dosas after 5 PM, since they're becoming harder and harder to find. With the large population of Indian immigrants in Eagan, I've been disappointed with the larger restaurants which seem to cater more to the sensitive Minnesota palate than the Indian population. This is an efficient, spare operation that puts all the focus on the food. Fine by me! The food choices are in a deli case with about 15 rotating dishes. Naan and puri are made to order, no dried out bread in a buffet line here. We shared chicken curry, mutton curry, an okra and peanut dish as well as a cauliflower side. Everything was vibrant and spicy-and by spicy I mean bountiful flavor with just enough heat to make things interesting. The mutton and chicken both were cooked with bone in, which makes for juicy meat that doesn't dry out. Careful with the smaller bones eating these dishes. Not everything was labeled for the uninitiated like me, but it was all delicious. There were packages of spiced nuts and cookies on the counter that were tempting, but I was only interested in the savory delights. There are two bowl sizes, and tasting is permitted before making a decision. The bowls are delivered overflowing, and a small serving could easily be shared with two. Several people stopped in on a Sunday afternoon to pick up large trays of catered food, and I don't doubt that's a lucrative business for them. Heads up, better to have cash since they'll charge you the difference for credit card processing fees. Staff is pleasant and efficient. I couldn't be happier that I need only drive two miles to get authentic, delicious Indian food."
