"I love this place. It really made me fall in love with Korean food. My only wish is that they had more vegetarian or vegan options, but that is not as common in the cuisine. At least In most Korean restaurants located in the midwest.I had to Bebeau bowl, which comes out in a hot stone bowl so the rice gets crispy. It is served with all of the kimchi and other little side dishes. Those home make the mail worth it. I really enjoy the food, but only wish it was closer."
"Always a great spot if you're craving a quick Korean bite. Today, I got the beef bulgogi plate. With a mixture of grilled beef, veggies, and slightly sweet sauce, you are in for a juicy meaty treat! Service was quick. Makes for a fun trendy spot by the University of Minnesota!"

"Went with my cousin Sid and a couple of nephews. The Good. It's kind of fun and the staff were very sweet. The so-so. The food cuts are a bit not my style. The pork was almost all fat and to render on the grill takes forever. I ended up grilling mostly veggies. They were good. Asparagus. Mushrooms. Peppers. All. But proteins were not great."
"Yum yum yum!! Haven't been here for quite some time and I'm so glad to be back! Super clean, very friendly staff and amazing food. I ordered the kimchi pancake to start. It is fried lightly and is a thin layer of amazing fresh kimchi. It comes with a soy sauce based dipping sauce. It is a large plate so plenty for leftovers. So delish!!I also ordered the stir fried glass noodles with pork and vegetables. That dish comes with several sides to top it yourself. Fresh and tasty!Stop by and enjoy this delish Korean food! Def recommend!"
"We came here for a pre-concert dinner. This is my first foray into Korean BBQ, and overall it was quite enjoyable. Parking is on the street, or there is free parking next to the restaurant in the evening. The restaurant was clean well designed. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The food came out to our table really quick. I mean really really quick. we were barely settled in and chatting after placing our order and our food came out. I am not sure if I ever said this about a restaurant, but it was a bit too quick. The food overall was fine. The Nigiri we ordered seems pretty fresh. I can't recall what my dining companions ordered but it was cooked well and was well balanced. I had ordered the Braised Beef Ribs. This entree was mostly a failure. While the sauce and vegetables and other accouterments were good; The beef was sooo chewy. The connective tissue you find in the ribs was not broken down in the braise. That meat needed another 60 to 90 minutes in the braise. So dropping $40.00 on this and getting this entree served to me in its state, was a disappointment.I would hit it up again to try some of the other entrees and give this place another chance."
"Didn't take pictures but was good. My friend liked the food. Service and ambiance were good too. ."
"Small, corner restaurant with street parking. Service was attentive even though they were a bit stretched. Tried a few different lunch items, all of it was cooked fairly well and had a reasonable flavor. The short rib lunch combo included a lot of small little accompaniments, but everything sort of just landed a bit flat. Nothing quite "great" but definitely not too bad either. If you're looking for something a bit off the beaten path, love kimchi, and are seeking some Asian cuisine, this will likely meet those expectations even if it doesn't wow you!"

Super yummy Korean food but the service could def be improved. The food was super delish. Very authentic with large portions to share. The only downside was the service. We were waiting a really really long time for our food and our server kept ignoring us. We had to keep flagging the server to get refills but he literally kept running to the back lol. On top of that, he forgot one of our items which came out wayyyy later after we finished eating. Such a bummer because the food is soooo good. :(

Decided to try this spot out even though my usually go to spot is Korea Restaurant on Oak Street. I thought this place might be cheaper, but I believe they are the same price! Seafood pancake - needs to be crispier, too soft. Had good taste with the dipping sauce but needs to be fried more.Rice cake with spicy sauce and dish cake. I have never had this dish with fish cake but it wasn't bad. Not my fav dish. Rice cake could have been softer.Beef Bulgogi and the Kalbi were both excellent! Cooked well, tender and full of flavor!I also ordered Pork Bulgogi and Japche to go but came home to open 2 orders of Pork Bulgogi! The pork Bulgogi was really good but I was disappointed to not try the Japche so guess I'll have to come back.Overall the food was pretty good. We were happy with the quality of the food.

As someone who travels through Korea often, Hoban is the spot in the Twin Cities! My favorite was the Hoban Galbi. It is very authentic K-BBQ where you will be grilling yourself. Keep in mind that part of the authenticity comes with a service style more similar to Korea. It is not an in and out restaurant, enjoy the atmosphere and time with the company you are with. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time, sometimes it isn't required but it's better to have one than not. 감사합니디!

If there is one restaurant in Minneapolis with some of the best Asian fare that provides not only All You Can Eat (AYCE) and Korean BBQ (KBBQ) in a single setting Dong Hae is a cut above the rest. Its typical to find either one individually In some places for $50 alone but for $45 a person with a DEEP menu of starters, sides, meats, and sushi you'll walk in thinking you're going to need to come back for another round but don't feel surprises when you struggle just to make it thru your first order. My wife and I took our 2 oldest boys for our son's 21st birthday after never having tried KBBQ and he was thoroughly impressed. For those who have never been before its a little tricky to find the entrance but once you make it inside there is plenty of seating and room at the table (even with the grill) to fill up! From the 4 massive sushi roles to cooking through all of the meats after our starters of gyoza and tempura plus the flavorful chili sauce on the chicken wings, and the fried rice was easily large enough for 2 to split. The service was prompt and the staff attentive, and with the reasonable costs (be warned about the Minneapolis sales tax and automatic gratuity for AYCE) even living in the south suburbs this was well worth the trek into the city for an amazing meal for a special occasion.

I'm not sure if the owner had changed but my food today is so different from my other orders I've had before. I'm so sad and disappointed. I recommended this place to all of my friends and now its not the same. I had to call them and was told its a different chef. I don't think i'll be going there anymore. I'm just sad because there's no tteppokki as good as this place used to have them here.

Incredible food and service. We have eaten here regularly and highly recommend their Kim Bop, kimchi rice, Golgabi (mackerel with red pepper sauce), Japchae and Haemul-pajeon (seafood pancake). Honestly, anything here won't go wrong. Their variety of soups such as Sundubu Jigae (spicy tofu soup) or soup with green onions and oxtail if you are not into spicy food. Service is prompt and courteous and they know us so well that they adapt our specifications without asking and always bring us hot tea (green and ginseng are great.)

Enjoyed the garlic soy and Korean barbecue wings. Also had the corn dog which instead of a hot dog is cheese centered. Different and delicious. Plenty of parking over lunch. Some of the best wings I have had Will be back. Great prompt service. Big parking lot and was busy but not overwhelmed at lunchtime

"Stopped in after looking for a quick bite to eat and decided to try a new place. We were a little surprised that Bonchon is fully a sit down restaurant, but our experience was great. Very clean store, staff were very nice, and service was actually phenomenal. We had their bibimbap bowl and fried tenders, both were really good. The fried chicken with the soy garlic sauce in particular was a highlight."
"THIS PLACE!!! I like chicken wings and was looking forward to trying these, but they were way beyond my expectations. The wings are made to order, so they came out nice and crispy with the most tender chicken. The Gangnam style sauce was flavorful and had a perfect kick to it. The Gangnam style wings take longer to make than some of the other menu options, so that's something to keep in mind. The Uptown location is close to bde maka ska and there's plenty of metered street parking in the area. There's a St. Paul location as well.I totally recommend bb.q and will definitely be back for more wings!"
"I unfortunately didn't take a picture of my food as I did take out and then went straight to eating but WOWW! We've had people tell us about their fried chicken and finally gave it a try. I'm super bummed I didn't come to this place as soon as it opened in Roseville because I've been missing out . Parking was very easy as they have it right in front and to place a take out order it was pretty quick. I did half and half of sauces for chicken wings which were super flavorful and had a side of kimchi which was perfect to accompany the meal and a side of fried rice plain. Service was great and food was perfect. Next time I'll be dinning in for sure !"
"This place is ! I have never seen Soju on a menu, and it was explained that it flavored sake which usually results in a more sweeter taste. They infuse the Soju themselves in house and it was amazing! I suggest getting a flight, by the lychee was my favorite! The atmosphere is so cool. Dark, loud music, high backed booths. Perfect for a date or a group. We took our kids here and sat at the bar... they were extremely accommodating with paper and coloring crayons. The staff were unfazed. The food is splendid. My favorite was the pork belly. It comes with wraps and you get tongs and utensils to build it yourself. It could have been cooked a littleLonger, but the flavor was perfect. We'll be back!!"
"Oh my gosh! The service and food were excellent! The restaurant was neat and clean, perfect place to meet up with friends. The menu had so many delicious looking items that it was hard to decide what to order. We had to try the wings, which were perfectly cooked. Crispy and excellently seasoned. My friend ordered the BulDak, which was nice and spicy, he thoroughly enjoyed it. The serving was huge. There were enough leftovers for two more meals. I ordered the Japchae, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I definitely will go back and try more of their delicious food."
"We went here on a lark for a quick lunchtime snack. The place was spotless, the staff was friendly and prompt. the food came out quickly. We ordered the pork steam buns, pickled radishes, and the Karaage. They were all super fresh and tasty. I will totally be back to try other offerings. They also had someone coming around offering the Mochi donuts from Te'Amo. Those things were amazing. this place is right next door. I ended buying a dozen, because I couldn't help myself. those are my new favorite sweets right now.If you are in the area, it is completely worth it to stop by and eat here."
"Absolutely delicious meal. The portions were huge, and the dipping sauce and kimchi slaw complimented the chicken perfectly. The presentation was lovely, and the staff at the Abang Yoli counter were very friendly. I would come here again!"
"The only reason I'm giving Dosirak 4 stars is the most important part of this restaurant the food is GOOD! Everyone in my group had something different on the menu because we all have different Korean faves and we all loved what we ordered. You walk up to the counter and order, the host at the counter was short with us when we had questions, so you kind of have to know what you want, she was very disinterested in helping us figure out what was good, so I say google ahead or ask questions of people that know more and just go up with your order. You pick your own seating and they give you a number and bring your order out to you. The food came out pretty quickly, but we were not there at a popular dining time. I've seen the restaurant be VERY full at popular dining times so we purposely went after 7pm on a weekeday. Don't go too late though because the Asian Mall closes!"
"I will preface this review by saying that I am Korean and also grew up in Los Angeles / Orange County which has some of the best korean food in the US. Is this place comparable to CA kbbq places? Obviously not but for being in Minneapolis I was pleasantly surprised. Nice restaurant, staff are very attentive, and plenty of parking. I had mixed feelings with the Banchan. Some were spot on in flavor and some tasted a bit watered down. The Deonjang jjigae was also a little watered down and could have used a bit more doenjang. The steamed egg was perfect and portion size was nearly double most other places. We ordered the samgyupsal, chadolbaegi, and jumulleok which all were very good. Portions were large. Dipping sauces were on point. Loved that they gave lettuce and ssamjang. Right now this has quickly moved up to my favorite kbbq spot in the twin cities. Sucks because it is a bit of a drive for me but if you are close by, definitely check them out. This is probably the closest thing to CA level KBBQ spot in MSP area."
