Mary T. "For roughly a year, I have been meaning to visit a Kowalski's market. Why? I had heard that it offers Betty and Earl's biscuits, which locals have raved about.I had my first Betty and Earl's chocolate chip cookie at Smack Shack. It was so yummy that I knew that I needed to try a biscuit next. After a book signing at The Lynhall, I needed a drink. I was headed to Starbucks, not knowing that it was located in this Kowalski's market until I had arrived. Excellent! After getting my drink at Starbucks, I checked out the market. It's a great gourmet grocery store. I was so happy browsing. The bakery section was incredible. You could get everything from artisan bread to donuts. I found Betty and Earl's goodies. I bought a bacon cheddar biscuit and a cinnamon roll.I need to get a half portion of a fruit pie. The peach pie had caught my eye. I hope that it's there where I'm back. Otherwise, I'd be happy with whatever fruit pie is there. There was so much chocolate-covered anything here. Popcorn. Nuts. Cookies. It all blew my mind. I must get the popcorn.I absolutely loved seeing individual meals. It's perfect for someone like me who tends to stay in hotel room with a kitchenette and craves comfort food. There were comforting meals, such as goulash, mac and cheese, and penne bolognese. They looked delicious. I could totally have all of them. The beverage selection was great. There were lots of sugar-free ones. I also saw sparking and CBD beverages. Wow!This store has a wine shop. I didn't check it out, but I will next time.I had the nicest man at the cashout area. Every staff member here is so nice and he was no exception. He carefully put my baked goods in a paper bag.I paid with a credit card. Done! I thanked him, grabbed my stuff, and left. Both Betty and Earl's items that I got were delicious. The cinnamon bun was more dense than you average bun, but it had the perfect amount of cinnamon with frosting on top that wasn't overly sweet. The savoury bacon cheddar biscuit was excellent. I had it for breakfast. It was filling and perfect. I could eat one any time of day.I am definitely returning for more baked goods. I want to try the individual meals next.(438)"

You will sometimes be approached for bus money but I doubt the cas is for a bus pass. Once you make it in you will find a great place ran by amazing staff. Becky is there almost every morning to greet me and brighten my day. The place is not as bad as it seems and the staff is fabulous. I stop in occasionally for the evening red bull to get me through my long evenings. I gave it five starts not for the ghettoness outside but for the amazing staff."

"Reunited and it feels so good----Kowalski's is my favorite grocery store to shop at---and since moving across the river I just did not get a chance to skip-a-doodle over to St. Paul that much---I was so happy to discover that there is one in Woodbury and close enough to do my shopping at----I gleefully entered the store and got one of my preferred little two tiered carts. I also enjoyed that there were not a ton of brats running around in big ass plastic car carts. Kids ruin my grocery store experience because they are always zigging when I want to zag. There was a vast array of samples and unfortunately for my wallet I ended up buying pretty much everything I sampled. Hahahahahaha that is a damn good marketing tactic. The old lady doing the Bacon demo needed to put a sock in it though---she never came up for air and was a bit pretentious. I did buy the bacon because even though she got on my nerves I enjoyed it. There is so much inside this fabulous store---flowers, gifts, cards, wine, Aveeda products, Cooks of crocus hill , fancy olive oils and seasonings, and cheeses---the wonderful cheeses----I specifically would shop here just for cheese.I got quality ingredients and seriously I don't feel like I did too bad on my budget. I indulged in some gourmet items that I cannot get at other grocers. Potter crackers, fresh Alaskan wild caught coho salmon, Waygu beef, velvet honey butter, northern lights Bleu cheese.I picked up a few recipe cards and enjoyed the friendly check out boys --one who took my groceries to my car for me. This place is the stuff my entertaining and food dreams are made of..."

Kara D. "I am SO grateful for this local co-op. Here are a few of the oh so many reasons why...GROCERIES & ITEMS FOR SALE: It goes without saying that a local co-op has healthy, mindful, and local options. I really appreciate Eastside's bulk section which has a wide variety of items from not-so-bad-for-you gummy bears to nutritional yeast to trail mixes to all sorts of MN wild rice. Eastside also has hard-to-find fresh groceries like mung bean sprouts and local small batch tempeh.PREPARED FOOD Their deli offers healthy, flavorful, and reasonably priced grab-and-go options (aka grab-and-go-but-eat-in-the-car--like-a-piggy-because-you-just-can't-restrain-yourself options). Their hot bar serves up vegetarian and carnivore options, buffet-style by the pound. It's available for lunch and dinner on weekdays, and 8am-1pm on weekends. There's plenty of items in their cold case too from pizzas to sammies to all sorts of salads. You can also order made-to-order items like burritos and tacos!CAFE: Their attached cafe has great caffeinated drinks, and fresh delicious smoothies and cold pressed juices. Their drinks are named after neighborhoods in Northeast which is extra adorbs. Oh, plus free wifi.EVENTS: They host events for kiddos and adults alike. Their events support local vendors, are educational, and fun. Examples: free weekly yoga, coffee seminar/tastings, canning classes, "Critters of the Mississippi" for kids, zero waste education, healthy recipes classes, etc.I plan to become a member soon to support these local businesses and of course receive member perks!"

You won't find Aldi's prices or Walmart level markdown on milk. In the 'dining area' - it's a place you'll see the suburban high schoolers trying to change the scenery as they do online high school and the seniors flocking for daily deli deal hot items. With that said - the deli deals are pretty good and I enjoy the desserts ... it shows with my winter quarantine weight. You can shop cheaper if really needed but you have to use coupons and really know what you're looking for. I don't have any gripes about Jerry's, it's a 'safe' place to shop, teenagers will bag your groceries, and you'll enjoy the salad bar and side items. If you're looking to easily pinch pennies on your grocery bill - I would look elsewhere though..."

The fruit and veggie aisles are on the right like most of the other stores. I was looking for cotton candy grapes but they weren't available. It's California grape season. I got some Fairlife filtered milk, which is great for the lactose intolerant. It's one of the few stores that carry that brand. I stopped for the pretzel hotdog buns. I couldn't resist the thin maple rolled oat cookies that they bake on site. They had Jonny Pops on sale but not the 2 chocolate ones which I thought strange and annoying. I have asked numerous times how to make a particular dish and they are willing to help me out. I try to make authentic food and not of Mexican decent but they are always so nice. Annie D. "I used to buy almost all my groceries at the Midtown Global Market, and The Produce Exchange made that possible. Quality... it's all about quality here. They focus on organic produce, with locally sourced fruits and veggies when they are available. They also have a selection of kitchen odds and ends and dry goods like pasta, sauces, grains and canned goods. I don't usually bother with that section, but there is a little shelf or a bin with discounted things sometimes. It's worth checking out. The Produce Exchange sells some of the best produce in the Twin Cities. They'll have Minnesota tomatoes and squash. Colorado peaches and plums. It changes all the time. Everything is very well-labeled with it's origin, which is great for those of us who prefer to buy as locally as we can. I felt really excited a couple of weeks ago when the clerk told me I was buying the first local apples of the season! Uh-mazing Wisconsin apples, BTW.Their prices are low for the quality, in my opinion. They aren't co-op prices, which can be a bit outrageous sometimes for fresh produce. I find the cost pretty comparable to Cub or Rainbow's organic section (or even their non-organic section!), but with really good sales. It's a wonderful place to shop if you're not picky too, because you can almost always get a good deal on something fresh and delicious. Next time you're eating in Midtown Global Market, don't breeze past this place without at least trying one of their samples (there's usually some awesome fruit on the platter). Surely, you'll end up taking home a bag full of goodies after one bite."

I was amazed by the number of people they had working that were there to help people find what they needed for the last-minute items... And the drive up grocery pick up lane is awesome... John S. "I was not expecting to order anything when I went to Mr Santana. A cool drink was all I had in mind as I gazed over the selection of sodas with more exotic tastes than a row of Mountain Dew or other Pepsi and Coke products, but don't worry there are cokes. Selecting a Mango type punch the enticing aromas of lamb and beef were stirring a hunger I wasn't aware of five minutes earlier. I checked the board menu and among the many items a Lamb Gyros stood out, as I'll rarely pass up a chance to try a mouth watering Gyros. There was one person working which I assume was the owner so if busy there may be a wait. He can whip the orders out fast. There is outdoor seating with umbrella topped tables. Inside is narrow so state guided social distancing is almost impossible. I thought this business was a corner convenience store but it is now more of a deli which sells hookahs. The soft pita bread is easy to squeeze down to hold the ingredients. This does rank as one of the best Gyros I've had. Check the menu of Pita Wraps and burgers even pizzas, appetizers and desert, and who can pass on bringing some Curry Rice home to go with nearly anything. Gotta go back soon. Door Dash for those still hiding in the basement."

Jim R. "For my money, Kowalski's is the top of the grocery-store pyramid in the twin cities having surged past Byrerly's after Lunds acquired them and homogenized them a bit. Most of their stores, including this one, are on the small size yet filled with lots of gourmet fruits, veggies, cheese, meats and other specialty items. They have the basics too, but they really shine in these other departments. Aisles are a bit narrow for my tastes but it's not really designed for the overflowing shopping carts one might encounter at Target or Cub. They've recently renovated the store and added a new, larger natural foods area that is very nice. You can find most of what you're looking for at this store, and the employees are generally friendly and helpful. Countless times I've asked where certain items are located (since they're no longer where they used to be after the renovation). And countless times, friendly employees have directed me in the right direction.I like that I can find some hard-to-find items here, like my absolutely favorite barbecue sauce. There's a deli, a bakery, a butcher, a florist, and even a small cafe on-site that is popular with the older crowd. Located near the Crossroads Mall, this is a popular and central location for grocery shoppers. Aldi, which is located about a block and a half away generally has lower everyday prices, especially on milk and eggs."

I needed basically everything and they had it all and at very reasonable prices. The staff was super helpful and guided me around the store to make sure I found it all.The only problem is how I will EVER use ALL of these spices!!!! The quantity that they give you is massive, so unless you plan on cooking indian food everyday you could easily share with a friend. I can't complain because the prices were so cheap and you get so much. Even everyday stuff like cinnamon where in a normal store you get a tiny bottle for over $3 bucks here you get half a gallon of it for $2! Great place to stock up on the essentials, not just indian stuff. My only complaint was the produce, it wasn't in great shape. The cilantro was all half dead and they didn't really have much selection either. But the frozen food cases had a wide variety and I was sure to stock up on roti's and samosas! They also have tons of easy to make, ready packs of spices and sauces if you don't want to cook from scratch or have a whole shed to store all those indian spices in! I recommend the "Shan" brand spice boxes, they have everything you need in a little box and you just have to add a few veggies and meat...Think indian food for dummies...but very yummy!"
