"When it comes to golf simulators in the Twin Cities region you'll be hard pressed to find any better than those at Birdi. While the strip mall façade makes Birdi easy to overlook, they have ~10 simulators and a sizeable area/bar for those just looking to grab a bite or a drink. The beer list is decent and they have a pretty wide selection of bar food - it's not a dining destination, but it's nice to have options in between swings.Back to what matters - they use GolfZon sims with moving platforms that have realistic tracking. Yes, the courses on offer are somewhat limited and feature a lot of Asian courses locals might not have heard of, but they still lap many of the local competition.Reservations can be booked online, prices are reasonable, parking is ample and service has always been friendly enough. It'll continue to be a place I tee it up at regularly when the weather doesn't allow for golf outside."
"Wonderful course, terrific conditions, reasonable pricing and nice staff. Love playing this course. Beautiful old trees, greens that run true and at good speed along excellent conditions make for a great day at the course!"
"Lost Spur is a fine course for a Spring warmup round, quick 9, without having to drive too far (just south of the airport). It is similar to many munis in playing conditions (smaller greens, decent fairways, hilly....the land wasn't "managed" to smooth our hills and ravines)...What makes it stand out is 1) the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming and 2) it is under the flight path from MSP so if you are a plane freak like me you can see them directly overhead. The course is a bit hilly....so if you tend to huff and puff up hills, get a cart. If you don't it is fine to walk except for 2 big uphills.Note: I'm not 100% sure if it is actually a muni, but the best way to describe the terrain and playing condition."
"I am working a wedding tonight with my husband who is the Dj for the night. I have been to many weddings and I have to say by far the best food I have had at a wedding in awhile! My husband had the ribeye steak, which was huge! I had the walleye and it was as long as my arm. Very generous portions, very flavorful and great sides. Our table was impressed with the food."
"First time playing this course and it was worth the drive north. Great value, reasonable greens fees and the course is in great early summer condition. Weekend (Saturday) round was 5 hours but you have to expect that in this area for a public course. A challenging but fair test. We played the blue tees (6500+ yds) and it was a great test. Highlight is a 223 yrd par 3. (17) - into the wind almost a driver. Will be back!"

Golf cold Beer and great service. Who wouldn't want that? The simulators are the best I've played!

Played here in early October and it was impeccable. I was really impressed with the condition of the course. There is also nothing boring about it, many different hole styles and a number of great challenges. The staff was great as well very helpful, I just wish it was closer to the cities! It was a real treat to pay here

We had our wedding venue at Lost Spur and it was such a great experience. The service was excellent & they were great at responding & following up. They helped make my big day be stress free! The golf course had a lot of pretty spots for photos & they will reserve you golf carts to get around in. (Including an 8 seater one for your bridal party!)You do not need to be a member to get married here.

This place is downright awesome. It's my second favorite course I think I have ever played. Honestly I'm an awful golfer and The Refuge is not user friendly. I lost more golf balls playing here than I should probably ever admit. The greens are large and challenging, the views are breathtaking. A couple of the holes you tee off from a platform that was built it a bog. Many of the holes you have to dodge ponds and woods so thick you'll never get your ball back. Ended up using a Groupon and my friend and I will definitely be back.

This course has everything you could ask for in a round. Lots of "shotmaking" requirements, but it also leaves options for those that don't want that challenge. Several holes give you and opportunity for stand on the driver and bust it out there. Greens were firm, fast and rolling true with a lot of subtle breaks. A few blind shots, but the pro was nice enough to give me a yardage book as it was my first time here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Grill out back with reasonably priced grill food and beverages. Some fairways littered with divots that some selfish golfers have left.... don't be that guy.

Emerald Greens is a beautiful golf course! Their new addition is perfect for a wedding or large event. The downstairs bar and restaurant was very comfortable with their garage doors open allowing the breeze to come through. Plenty of parking spots. Helpful, welcoming staff and bartenders. We enjoyed sitting upstairs on the deck overlooking the greens. It was a stunning day!

I don't have much to compare this place to since it was my first time ever golfing. Other than being at the driving range 2 other times at a course in CA. The prices were cheap and coming from the twin cities it's not that bad of a drive. The one main complaint I'd say is that we had a tee time at 1:45 and we didn't start till almost an hour later because they didn't have carts for us to use. I also suggest maybe 2 porta potty's along the 18 hole course rather than just 1. I have a feeling those trees are growing from a lot of pee. Which brings me to my next point. Though like I said it was my first time so I don't know what's normal but I felt like there were a lot of trees at this course. Kinda hard for a beginner. But overall it was a great day and I had a blast golfing! I would definitely try this course again.

"This is a nice municipal style course out on the edge of Hastings. It took me 45 minutes to get to it from Minneapolis. I liked that the course was well maintained, and that it was uncrowded (although I was there early on a weekday in September). It can be walked - the distance between the holes is deceiving because it seems like it should be short but the front/back 9 are patchworked together. It is what it is but the course wasn't super interesting, until the 14th hole (gold course) where there was finally some elevation change and nicer views."
"This Course only needs a Ground Crew and head Greens Keeper and a Good Head Pro to make this a Top 5 Course it plays nice but a bit on the easy side ,tee boxes need to be cut a bit shorter and greens need just a little bit of help for the money you cant go wrong!"
"Best value for a good challenging and scenic course in the twin cities area. The drinks at the bar are reasonable and the service is always friendly. The greens roll true and are lush. Not your typical beat up overcrowded public course. Stay on Saturday nights for their stone fired pizzas. They are ridiculously tasty. I give this course two thumbs up for service, course conditions, and stone fired pizzas."
"Great band on Saturday night! Run Lucy Run- awesome drink specials and French fries too. Bartender was friendly and fast!"
