Donald S. "I think I might just have a new infatuation. Master noodle....where have you been all my life?! This place is described as "Traditional hand pulled noodles and vibrant art in an open kitchen setting". Somehow, even this is an under-sale. The space is absolutely stunning. From the wall art to the replica balcony, to the furniture and custom silverware and plating...this is "master"class in restaurant decor. I am thoroughly impressed, even before ever laying eyes on the menu. Noodles both cold and hot, soup, dumplings, scallion pancakes, wontons, fried rice, desert and even milk tea. You'd be hard pressed not to find something that satisfies your liking on this menu. It seems endless. But hand pulled noodles are a must. Hand pulled noodles are a rarity stateside. Master noodle happens to be Minnesota's first. Sure It is time consuming, but so worth the effort. These Hand pulled noodles may be imperfect in shape but oh so perfect in texture and taste. You honestly can't go wrong with the garlic chicken noodles. It's sweet with just a little kick, but the chew of the noodle is everything. Easily one of the better restaurant experiences I've had, and I've had quite a bit. Master Noodle is the fix I never knew I needed, but now I can't stop wanting."

The menu is different from many moons ago but the freshness is still the same. I had the chicken spring roll and it was amazing. My honey pork Bahn mi, 6", a little more expensive than what I pay in St. Paul, but that isn't that big of a deal. It too was incredibly tasty and fresh. It was close to closing time on Friday (they close at 7:30) so you think you might get something pre rolled. Nope! Everything was made fresh. That's what I loved about this place many moons ago. There is passion and pride behind what is served and all these years later that holds true."

Found Simplee Pho. Now I didn't know what to expect, I never had Pho before, I told my wife "wasn't it just soup and ramen?" Nope. It's so much more than that.We entered the restaurant with one hour left before closed. They happily greeted us, sat us right away and brought us water immediately. Looking at the menu, I didn't even know it was a Vietnamese restaurant, so I got excited. I glanced at the menu but I didn't want anything I've tried before so I went for the Pho. The spicy bowl. My wife asked for chicken instead of beef and at first the waitress wasn't sure if the cook would do it, but she clapped her hands and said I will ask for you. Came back in seconds and said Yes! He'll do it for you! (She got the same spicy bowl as I did). And I ordered the egg rolls. The egg rolls are loaded, mega egg rolls, loaded with the good stuff, loaded with flavor and after just one bite, all I could do was nod my head and say wow....Not gonna lie, hands down, thee best egg rolls I've ever eaten in my life. When the spicy bowl arrived, I grabbed the chop sticks, grab some beef and noodles and took a bite. first thing out my wife: "WHY HAVENT I TRIED THIS BEFORE?!? WHY HAVENT YOU TOLD ME PHO OS THIS GOOD!?!So I added the Ben sprouts and whatever else they put o the extra plate and added it to my bowl. I ate, I grubbed, I was in food paradise, and I ate some more. When it was all said and done, my wife and I were full, I'm talking full Pho real!!' And we still had a full bowl of spicy Pho left, and my wife even gave me some of her chicken and noodles cus she mainly wanted the broth. So we're beyond satisfied with the service Beyond satisfied with the foodBeyond satisfied with the flavorBeyond satisfied with the amount of foodBeyond satisfied with the amount to take homeAnd we will be backWe do recommendLike Billy Bob from Varsity Blues: I give it a 10!!! For meals we selected the Chicken Lo Mein, Crunch Roll and King Dragon Roll. Took off one star because: a) app came out at the same time as the lo mein; b) chicken in the lo mein was overcooked; c) had to hunt down our own forks & napkins and then wait to ask for chopsticks. The Squid Yaki was tasty and the portion was plentiful! The two rolls had amazing flavor and we'd definitely order them again."

I'd definitely recommend this spot for first timers, but come with friends who have been before to show you how it's done. I definitely needed their help with the sauce station and learning the best way to actually eat the meal.Everything is a la cart, which is helpful if you want to share a bunch of different things and try new foods! I went with the Tom Yum broth and it was so flavorful and rich.Between three of us we shared so many different fun items. My favorite were the thin sliced beef, udon noodles, tofu, cabbage and broccoli. It took me a bit to get the hang of how long to cook all the different elements, and I made a bit of a mess, but it was fantastic.Only downside here was it was difficult to get service. It took quite a while to get our order in, and we were stuck waiting for about 20 minutes to close out at the end. Plus, on a tab of over 5 people they add in a 20% tip which I don't mind, except they pulled the tip after tax which wasn't ideal. However, for being very full after, it was a great price at about $25 a person."

Jeannie V. "This review is looooong overdue. Keefer Court has been a favorite bakery of mine ever since I stumbled upon it during a Zombie pub crawl cerca 2009. My now-husband and I needed a bathroom and decided to buy something to give ourselves the ethical ok to use theirs. As we wandered inside we saw people eating dinner (they do have a full menu), but not feeling too hungry, we opted for a quick bakery item. I saw a curry beef puff in the display case that resembled something my Indian father used to make when I was little (similar to a beef samosa, but using puff pastry), so I bought it with curiosity and low expectations. They were even kind enough to heat it for me. But that first curry puff was SO good, it led to another. And another. And then two more to share with our friends. Keefer Court's curry puffs remain one of my favorite treats to this day.Since then I've tried just about every type of bakery item in the case, but I consistently get the curry puffs and red bean sesame balls - one thing that's savory and one that's sweet. Eventually I will need to order a real dinner there because I imagine it's delicious as well, but I'm the meantime the bakery keeps me coming back again and again."

Service is also enjoyable. Anytime I've stopped by to pick up my to-go order, I was greeted pleasantly, upon entry. He verified my order and I've watched him greet other patrons and sat them just as pleasantly. The ambiance is suuuper old skool. It doesn't give high end, it doesn't give hole in the wall either, but definitely gives this is same table, chair and wall decor that was here when it first opened, no matter how many owners it may have had. LOL So dated may be a better way to address that. It's a very small, Mom and Pop sized establishment. I have yet to dine in, but it seems to have steady flow of customers that stop by.It's near my job, gives a nice amount for the servings, so I will definitely return."

Lana T. "OVERALL: a true & authentic hole in the wall restaurant. A hidden gem on the U of M campus. FOOD: We ordered the chicken congee, honey bbq pork, beef chow fun, crispy custard dessert, Hong Kong style milk tea, and Hong Kong style lemon tea. The HK style teas were the best teas I've had in the city. They were absolutely delicious! Each of the dishes themselves were large portions and so flavorful. For the congee, maybe ordering soy sauce or even ginger scallion oil on the side would've leveled it up, BUT even for just the congee itself it was delicious and you can tell they use broth instead of water to boil it down. I also appreciate with the chow fun that they limit the amount of onions and add a lot of bean sprouts. The BBQ pork with honey really adds a unique flavor that is not typical of other BBQ pork I've ordered at other places. SERVICE: The service was fast and kind. Waters always full, truly 5/5. PRICE: I'll have to come back for their weekday lunch special where dishes range from $9-12, but each of our dishes today were $13-$19. I learned as well that the owners are from HK and want to share the authentic flavors in MN. They also are the only restaurant that make the crispy cream custard dessert that is SO delicious. They make it to order as well so it's always fresh and hot. They also make their duck daily as well and I have to come back for that! *They also have a parking lot, which is HUGE bonus for being on campus!!"

I tried it exactly the way it was delivered to my table, and it was a bit bland. However, it was served with a lime wedge and there was a variety of sauces on the table. I squeezed the lime wedge in and added some hoisin and sriracha sauces and in no time the bland flavor became exquisite.I ended up really liking it. I was a little disappointed with the initial bland flavor, but having the ability to add some citrus flavor and other sauces greatly enhanced the flavor and experience. The menu described it as a "big bowl", and that description was accurate. The serving size is immense. You're doing something wrong if you manage to walk away hungry after eating an entire bowl. It was more than I could finish. And unfortunately, I am traveling for work and don't really have a way to carry the leftovers with me and eat them later."

Patti K. "My friend and I come here regularly because it's convenient and has a nice lunch menu that seems to have something for any mood. We usually order the spring rolls, a filling meat salad in a rice wrapper. I also like to get a lunch menu item that has a samosa on the side. The samosa filling is hearty with just enough Indian spice kick, fried suitably enough in a wonton wrapper. The lunch menu has a reliable selection of popular Asian dishes. I've enjoyed the Chinese chicken dishes (sesame, General Tso's, etc.) with flavorful sauces that don't drown out the fresh vegetables. Last time I went I ordered General Tso's "spicy," which would probably be about "medium" in Little Mekong--just right for me. I was a little disappointed that the noodle dish on the lunch menu seemed to lack moisture and flavor, but mostly I've been happy with the food. Sometime I'd like to go back for dinner, as those dishes seem more adventurous. The teas complement the dishes nicely, especially when I order something fried. I usually have the zingy ginger tea, a favorite for both my friend and me. Recently I found Nina's hot lemonade surprisingly refreshing on a hot day. The service is friendly and attentive. That's another story. But now in Roseville the food brings me back to the old days when the superb food was dished out at the Nankin in a Minneapolis. My only problem was getting in the door. The front doors must have been designed by the engineers who built Fort Knox! They weigh a ton and there's no electric opener. Once inside, it was lovely. The tables are far enough apart to navigate over the firm carpet. Service was prompt as we were presented a very large menu selection of Chinese, American and Italian entrees. The specials alone are numerous. My impression is it's the type of place where nearly anyone can find a dish to enjoy. My wife is a vegan and she enjoyed Szechuan tofu stir fry. I chose the #1 combo: Chicken chow mein, egg foo yung, and an egg roll. The servings are huge. I took home half of my meals and enjoyed it even more the second time around the next day. As we were about to bag our left overs the server asked what kind of pie we wanted. It turns out our meals included a slice of pie not listed on the menu. I took a piece of banana cream and and apple. I doubt if many leave here hungry. It's fair to say all of the food was delicious. As I said earlier, it brought me back to when we had good Chinese food, not altered by the hybrids with other cuisines. But for the fans of American or Italian food; I'll have to review some of that later."

Went with the General Tso's lunch special ($6.25) incredibly hot and spicy. Chicken was lightly breaded (my preference) and pork fried rice was quite standard. The hot and sour soup was very unique, as it was actually a bit sweet and far thicker than most places. I ordered this mild, cream cheese wontons, and a crispy coconut roll. He told me it would only be about 10 minutes and it was! The grand total for 3 items was only $13!!! What a fantastic price! The entrée came packed with white rice separately. The lemongrass chicken was truly mild for my lame low spice tolerance, but packed huge flavor! The chicken was cooked with some sauteed onions and I can see why he recommended it!The cream cheese wontons came with a ton of wontons, maybe 7, and they were all HUGE! Seriously the biggest cream cheese wontons I've ever gotten at a restaurant. These came with the classic red sauce as well. The wontons were not as crispy I've had in the past but they also weren't as oily so I think I prefer it this way! They're also cream cheese wontons so you can't go wrong. Lastly, I got a crispy coconut roll which they had in a jar by the register. I've never really seen this at a restaurant but for $1 it was a no brainer! It was light, airy, yet crispy!
