"French Hen Cafe has some great brunch options with good sized portions. Their biscuits and gravy were excellent! The cheddar chive biscuit itself was nice and flaky and I love a flavored biscuit instead of a regular one. The gravy was great and had a bit of spice to it. They have cool food and drink specials that I will definitely have to try next time. This spot is next to a really cute plant store, which is actually where you enter from!"
"I've been dying to check out The Nucleus, and oh my gosh, I'm so happy I finally did! We had a little girls' brunch on Saturday, and it was absolutely perfect! From the yummy food to the sweet service and the cutest decor, it's safe to say we're already planning our next visit to try more of the menu!I went for an blended coffee called The (Frozen) Girl Scout (a dreamy peppermint mocha), and they were so sweet to make it decaf just for me. Their blender was on the fritz so it wasn't blended but it was just as yummy iced!! For food, I couldn't resist the strawberry-stuffed French toast--let me tell you, it was AMAZING. They totally piled on the whipped topping, and I was living for it!I can't wait to take my sister here next time! I think we just found our new brunch spot!"

"I came in with a friend for lunch having never been in before. It was delightful. My friend helped me navigate how to order and then we seated ourselves. Our food came out quickly and was delicious! Simple and light. We had both ordered quiche and with no regrets! The staff we placed our orders with and who brought out our food were all very friendly. It has has a lovely bakery/cafe feel. The resteraunt is really clean and comfortable. It was lovely day so we were able to sit outside. I look forward to returning and trying other items."
"My friend and I arrived right when it opened. Neither of us were aware that it was order at the counter style. I kind of prefer the traditional way of dining, but this was fine. Some of the items are a little bit pricey- a side of bacon for almost $8.00- it would have to be some pretty spectacular bacon. Ordered the Cuban breakfast which was okay. It came with rice, beans, three plantains, eggs and pancakes. It was alright but not super flavorful. I thought it being Cuban would have a little more flavor. My friend ordered the french toast which looked really good. Everything is basically self service- drinks, ordering, seating which is fine. The general layout is kind of odd. Drink station right by the bathroom with a stream of people waiting for the bathroom and to get their drinks."
"I could tell by the fact it was bustling that we were in for a special treat on a Saturday morning. However even though it was busy, service was speedy and efficient. All the pastries seemed divine and the biscuit with homemade jelly reminded me of home. They serve a generous side of bacon and the place is overall a filling tasty breakfast spot with delicious drinks as well. Definitely worth popping your head into for either a bag or treats to go or a sit down meal. (Side note very cute atmosphere and cheery vibe complete with a hand painted mural)"
"Before heading down to the Twin Cities, I searched for places to have Christmas meals catered. A couple of years ago, I had an excellent experience with Brasa. This year, it had Thanksgiving catering, but maybe decided to take a break doing the same thing a month later.I landed on getting takeout from Colossal Cafe. It has takeout orders twice a week at two different locations. It also featured a special Christmas takeout menu where I needed to pick up my order on December 23. Perfect!I went with this Colossal Cafe on Grand Avenue. It's slightly closer to where I'm staying and would take roughly fifteen minutes to drive over here.I got the following items from its Christmas catering menu:- Orange-glazed ham, with roasted carrots, mashed potatoes with gravy, fluffy roll, and candy cane brownie (two meals - one on Christmas Day and another on Boxing Day)- Chicken pot pie- Egg bake (chives, cream cheese, and spinach)- Triple berry french toast bake with crème anglaisThe idea is that you pay online. Credit cards work fine, especially when you aren't an American. You specify the time that you want to pick up on Saturday and head over there.Parking was busy on a Saturday on Grand Avenue. I parked briefly on the street and walked into the cafe.As expected, this cafe was fairly busy. I saw all the paper bags with food to my right. I was excited, but patiently waited in line.I had the nicest woman when I got to the front of the line. I said that I was here for an order and pointed to the paper bag with my name on it on my right. She was pleased that I made her life easier. She picked it up and let me know that it was heavy. It was in double paper bags that were extremely sturdy. I thanked her. She wished me a merry Christmas. I did the same and happily lugged my food to my car. I briefly headed back to my hotel room after running a couple of errands. I placed everything in the fridge and then headed to a Wild game. The food lasted a few days, which I appreciated. It was nice to take a break heading downstairs for breakfast and having a comforting bake instead. They all heated up nicely in the microwave oven in my room. I normally do turkey as the main. It was a nice change doing ham with the best orange glaze. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and buttery. The gravy was excellent. I loved the roasted carrots that required little chewing. The fluff roll was so good. The candy cane brownie was fudgy and minty. It was the perfect meal. I'm so glad that I got to relive it the following day!The chicken pot pie was amazing. You got the pie crust all around the pie. There were huge chunks on chicken, potatoes, onions, and peas in every bite. This pie was so filling and comforting as a meal. The egg bake was delicious. I never thought of putting dabs of cream cheese throughout the bake, but it was awesome with the chives and spinach. I'm so glad that I got the triple berry french toast bake. It was everything that I love. Blueberries. Raspberries. Blackberries. French toast. Crème anglaise. Excellent! I looked at this cafe's takeout menu. It has a chocolate chip banana french toast bake that sounds equally as yummy. As tempting as it was to get it, I decided to sit on it. Next time! The food was delicious and comforting. It was everything that I had hoped for and more. It made my Christmas and holidays special while away from home.I looked at the baked goods while I was at the cafe. I want croissants next.It was a fabulous find. I'll be back for more.(2)"
"Excellent coffee. Had the Cuban. Loved it.I also ate three biscuits and sausage gravy. Highly recommend for coffee or some breakfast anytime."
"Just moved to the neighborhood and this is going to be our new go-to spot for brunch. High-quality farm-to-table fare and cozy whether you're sitting indoors or on the patio. The menu had so many selections that I can't wait to go back and try something new!"
"Lots is seating space. Great food - salads, sandwiches, sweets, and of course coffee. A comfortable community hangout! Take a look at the art while you are there."
"Excellent place for breakfast. Probably one of the best omelets I've ever had. Many quality ingredients from which to choose. I will definitely be a repeat customer."
"I ordered coffee and some pastries. The person working at the counter was so patient and kind to the guests even though the place was very busy. The pastries were amazing and the coffee was pretty good too! I want to go back and try their breakfast sandwich and burrito sometime! Also, the place is very inclusive and a respectful place for all genders. It's a place you can be free to just be a person."
"It's like a french bistro with seriously great offerings made with the best ingredients available really attentive servers but back to the food I had the alex fried chicken a three bell dinger really good and crispy I would definitely have it again .my wife had the salmon ruben it came to the table fast and all were hot and fresh and to add to the fun it's on lake Minnetonka"

Showed up at this café on a Monday morning. Super surprised to find the place packed (reservations highly recommended!). Even without a reservation, we were seated in less than ten (10) minutes.Only a short drive from downtown Saint Paul, It's in a cute area where there are many restaurants. Street parking only. Entrance is through the adjacent floral shop, which gives you a chance to look around a bit while you're waiting. We were pleasantly greeted and offered a table in the dining room room. Outdoor café tables are available, weather and staff permitting. I really liked their menu with plenty of variety for all tastes. A lot of specials available. Excellent coffee and wonderful food. I would have to say that their savory omelette was one of the more memorable breakfasts I've had in years, truly made me think of a European breakfast/lunch experience. generous portions at reasonable prices along with great service adds up to a restaurant that is very popular.Definitely would return to this location to try more items on the menu. Check it out and enjoy the experience.

My sister was is Eau Claire for work and she loved this place, and I had to check it out. They have VEGAN options which is a plus along with non dairy milk! We went on a Saturday morning and only had to wait 10 or so minutes for a table which isn't too bad. I got the vegan bagel sandwich and thought it was very filling. I got the chai tea with vanilla flavoring and it was delightful. My sister enjoyed her meal as well. It was loud along with music playing in the background so at times it was hard to hear each other. The bathrooms were also clean (there's changing tables as well). There's also plenty of street parking nearby. Overall this was a nice experience and would love to came back.

Was in Bloomington and decided to stop by. It was very busy inside but I was lucky enough to get a table right away. They have a nice bar in the middle with restaurant seating on both sides. I ordered the Berry French toast and I can honestly say this is one of the best French toast I've had. The bacon was noteworthy as well but was a tad bit pricey since they smoke it themselves. All in all, a great breakfast spot.

Ok what an adorable spot. Stopped by on a Saturday morning to get a brunch and coffee. Unsurprisingly, this place was packed. It took us awhile to get to the counter to order. I got an iced coffee and a pastry (I'm totally blanking on the name I apologize). The pastry was almost like a cinnamon roll-croissant hybrid kinda thing. Aka...it was delicious. It absolutely melted in my mouth. The iced coffee was pretty standard as far as iced coffee goes! It did what it needed to do.My family ordered some meals, and said they were fantastic. The sourdough pancakes were lovely and their breakfast sandwiches also hit the spot. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quality spot to get some delicious breakfast!

Had a great breakfast here! I am always amazed at how much food you get for the price. I struggled choosing something off the menu as everything sounded so good. Usually I would get the colosal breakfast because their sausage is one of the best. I ended up with a breakfast sandwich with of course the biscuit! This time I opted for a side salad and was very happy with my choice. Service was great and we found easy parking. This is definitely one of our go to breakfast spots.

I come here for the Magic Cookie Bars. No kidding... those yummy 7 layer bars with coconut, chocolate & butterscotch chips, nuts (maybe), sweetened condensed milk on a graham cracker & butter crust. Yum! Plenty of chocolate chips for you connoisseurs! They also have abundant coffee options and a kitchen with breakfast/lunch food. Everything I have ordered has been good, fresh and tasty. I usually come after lunch for coffee & a treat. Late in the day you will find many of their bakery items are sold out. They are THAT good!! They have puppy treat options for purchase I noticed. This place has a no tipping policy--they pay a living wage to employees. In the summer there is a lot of outdoor seating. I have been coming here, on occasion, for over 5 years and the service has always been good. You'll find little tables, benches up to a long, beautiful, natural wood bar which faces out the window & larger tables around the side... also, kid toys along the wall. Two unisex bathrooms, free refills on coffee. I see a sign saying "Live Music" which I didn't know about. Soft music plays while you enjoy your cuppa/soda, treats, or typing away on your laptop (free WiFi), or meet friends, grab a few neighborhood papers or other important free magazines, take a look at all the different services offered on a community wall, concerts coming up or events of interest. This is a great destination winter and summer.

Very cute bakery cafe and bar! They serve organic and sustainably sourced ingredients with an emphasis on serving slow food - how amazing!!I had the Tempeh Reuben was was flavorful - a little too salty for my taste but still very good. The salad and the kombucha were also yummy! I tried my friend's California wrap which was also flavorful and delicious! The fries are good in an average way. Some of the other reviews had poor service, but I thought our server was friendly and attentive! To get to the dog-friendly patio, you have to walk through the restaurant. Super cute with string lights and a mix of wooden booths and round tables. The restaurant is connected to an apartment building, so check the door to make sure you're going the right way.

"My family and I stopped by Cuppa Java to meet a friend while in town for a wedding on a busy Saturday morning. I think the ideal time to visit this popular coffee shop would be during an off time as it was very busy with folks enjoying a really pleasant early summer morning. We sat outside because it was so packed, and also because the weather was truly perfect. Just thinking about early June weather has me prepped and ready for it to cool off again! That being said, I can't speak much to the ambiance as I gave my order to my husband and took a seat outside with our daughter as the line was nearly out the door. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, a pastry, and each of us had an iced coffee. My coffee was really good - about what you expect for an iced coffee, and I remember the sandwich being really tasty. I think what makes this place stand out the most is how adorable it is and how it fits just perfectly into the neighborhood. I'd never been to this part of Minneapolis before and I absolutely loved the charm of this neighborhood. It felt very lived in, and I enjoyed how many people I saw out and about walking their dogs or taking their kids to the park on a weekend morning. I would absolutely return to this place next time I'm in the Twin Cities. I feel like it would be the perfect spot for an evening coffee date on a cold MN night - it just has this charm to it that I think would fit the bill, especially if it wasn't busy and you had time to really savor the pastries and your coffee."
"Absolutely love certain breakfast items. Wish they had other bread and salad dressing options though. The dressing is very bitter, gingery. Sometimes I don't even get the dressing with the salad in my delivery order but thats ok bcuz i dont like it anyways. The chive scramble with potatos is the way to go but if u dont want this, over medium eggs and toast is always good. The drinks are really what get me cuz they have lots of fun beverages. This boosts the score from the problems had with service and the dressing."
"Smith Coffee & Café in Eden Prairie is a local favorite known for its historic charm and welcoming atmosphere. Set in a beautifully restored 1800s house, it provides a cozy environment both indoors and outdoors, with a lovely backyard garden. We love the friendly service, and their coffee is highly rated, with popular choices like the Cinnamon Girl iced coffee. The café also serves a variety of breakfast items, with their Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuit and Sausage Biscuit Breakfast Sandwhich standing out, along with their Almond Croissant. The café's setting and atmosphere is unique and reminds me of So Cal offering a mix of contemporary and nostalgic elements, making it an inviting spot for a coffee break or catch up with friends. Parking between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm might be challenging during weekends."
"It was my first time here and the combo sub was amazing! It was my birthday so the food was free :)"
"I consider myself a foodie and oh my gosh this place was a 10/10. The food was incredible. We got a little bit of everything and it was just perfect. From the owners to the outside patio .. you HAVE to go!!!"
"Nice breakfast. Nice crisp hash browns. Excellent chicken fried steak with nice country gravy. The coffee is classic diner coffee (which is too weak) but it was only 99 cents. The best thing about the experience was the server. I forgot her name but she was a joy."
"Munkabeans is a fun coffee shop with retro tables and chairs. My family all love the Ham and Swiss croissant! Coffee is delicious and the to-go cups that are easy to grip. Staff is warm and they were helpful when I made a mistake. We wish you continues success!"
"Food was sooo delicious and at an affordable price point. Two breakfast meals and water for under $30 I believe! I was happy with my meal and can't wait to come back!"
"Came here with recommendations from locals. They weren't wrong. There's a wait because it's good!!! Be prepared with your whole party to be seated. Fair because the place is small and they're trying to serve everyone. Idk what the person is talking about "not friendly staff" because everyone was wonderful. Our server was friendly and helpful. We had a party of 11 and everyone loved their food. I loved my stuffed French toast sandwich, almost like a Monte Cristo but better! Give them a try."
"This may be my favorite summer food spot, and thats pretty much exclusively because of the vibes and outdoor space. Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches are beautifully crafted and use high quality ingredients, and the service is great, but what really elevates it for me is the outdoor seating combined with the walk up window. After a long bike ride, not having to lock my bike up, and just recovering with a nice cold beer and a deliciously light sandwich on a sunny patio just feels RIGHT."
"Great food quality, at a reasonable cost. Service at the bar and host stand were great. Nice ambiance with good smelling coffee! Pretty popular"
"Stopped by for lunch. Both meals were tasty. Chicken tenders with fries and Grilled Chicken Melt with fries. Great service, friendly staff."
"Coffee is decent, food is good. Skip the rice krispy bar. The place is also a beautiful gift shop and bookstore. It's my wife's dream. I was able to work here and the staff is super friendly."
"Small, cozy place, with generous proteins, wonderful service and delicious food. We were there on a Sunday morning, so it was very busy, but we were able to find a table for 4 and enjoy the delicious food. Can't wait to go back !"
"Such a cute little place for breakfast or lunch. Stumble upon this place while looking for a "non-chain" place to eat. The chicken wrap was probably the best we have ever had. Friendly service and very clean."
"First time buying cake here, and it's the BEST tiramisu cake in town! Its moist and flavorful."
"Walk in and order at the counter and choose a big old wooden booth to sit in! Helpful staff and a decent beer selection! I can't remember ever having beer cheese soup, but don't think I'll ever forget this one! Packed with flavor...I already want to come back just to have it again!"
"We were on our way to the Aldi nearby and noticed the restaurant. So after shopping, we stopped by for some breakfast. We were quickly greeted and seated.I got the Farm Style Omelet with wheat toast. My friend got the Egg House Favorite with wheat toast. Both were really good. The only issue we had was that the toast was barely toast, so it was difficult to get jelly on the slices. Having let them go for another 30 seconds to a minute would have made perfect toast. The portions are generous and they do a really good job with hashbrowns. We both took half of our meals home to eat later.Service was ok, with a man taking over for whatever reason. We started out with the young lady working there. He refilled our coffee and brought out our food. He was friendly and quick. We do plan on returning again. Our visit was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so it could have factored into the place not being busy."
"This place wasn't bad at all. You can tell it's a neighborhood/locals Cafe since they knew most of the people coming in. The only thing bad about that is that their regulars will get the better treatment in service then you will which doesn't seem right. Like they'll get, faster service, not rushed, and bill after they have finished vs you'll get yours after you just took a bite which I've noticed. Now on to my breakfast. It was tasty I'll tell ya. Portion was average , but my steak which i was surprised was cooked perfectly to my liking, which was medium rare. Most places I've been to tend to cook it a little longer than I like so that was nice. If I had a choice to come here or not again would only be if I was in the neighborhood. But also I only have tried one thing on the menu sooooo.... lol"
"Half breakfast diner, half local bar! Hudy's has you covered morning and night. I recently stopped in on a Wednesday evening for dinner and drinks at the bar. *Note - the cafe side closes after lunch at 2:00pm. The place was hopping with patrons at every table and only a few bar seats available. Wednesdays are open mic night and people come out for it! I was very promptly greeted and asked for my drunk order and asked if I needed a menu. While this is definitely a neighborhood bar filled with locals I was treated very well by staff and guests alike. I absolutely loved the small town feel of this place. The menu is pretty sizable with what you would expect from a bar. Apps, sandwiches, burgers, and various entrees. They also offer a small all day breakfast menu which I think is awesome. I went with Buffalo wings to start which use a house made buffalo. These were killer!!! Nice size wings, great exterior snap on the bite and juicy meat. Buffalo was more on the vinegar side than buttery and not too hot. Very enjoyable. I then had the Bagel Burger. I was skeptical if it would be difficult to eat with a bagel as a bun but it was the perfect size and the bagel was very nice and soft. After 8 wings, a burger and fries, and 4 whiskey sodas my bill was about $40 which is a great price in my eyes! I would strongly recommend this place for anyone looking for reasonably priced, decent bar food in a welcoming, local atmosphere. Can't wait to get back and try the breakfast."
"If you haven't made the choice to go and eat at Sparky's, you're missing out!! The food and atmosphere was the perfect small diner experience that I was hoping for! As you enter the building it's set in downtown Anoka, inside of a strip mall where you can get your eye exam done. The diner is a seat yourself place which gives the feeling of being a regular, as soon as we sat we were greeted and offered water. The server asked for our drink orders and let us peruse the menu while getting us our drinks. After they came back with our drinks, they asked if we were ready to order. My son ordered a GIANT chocolate chip pancake with a side of bacon. My husband ordered the Denver skillet with over easy eggs on top with white toasted bread.I ordered the supreme omelet with the rye toasted bread and hash browns with fried onions on top. (If you don't know, that's where you get the extra flavoring for your hash browns) We were stuffed and very content!! Also have to point out that the server came back and forth several times checking and refilling our coffee mugs, we were never dry...that's some freaking good service!!I would say run don't walk, get yourself to Sparky's for some fantastic breakfast! They've been around for 30 years and going strong with their obvious repeat business of locals. Plus while you're downtown, you can walk around and see the rest of the town and all of the amazing things that they have to offer. Such as boutiques and beautiful sights."
"Friendly staff, nice open restaurant with a large variety of meals-- plenty of options for kids (chicken fingers/tenders, drummies, pizza, all-day breakfast) and adults (large salads, paninis, walleye, prime rib). Very clean. Lots of coffee options-- a great find between the Cities and North Dakota. We will definitely be back!"
"Best coffee and sandwiches around. Good scones. Cut and his staff always friendly!Southwest wrap is the best."
