"My sister-in-law had her Naturalization ceremony in St. Paul so we wanted a place to eat afterwards. I had heard the Red Cow was known for its burgers so we chose it for Arlin's brother who was in town from Vancouver. Glad we were able to find parking in the small lot! This venue has an outdoor patio which we considered but it was a little too humid. The service - once they made a table for 8 - was exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. Cheese curds for the table were a hit!My hubby and niece had the 60/40 burger (beef & bacon) and while they liked it, the candied bacon topping was a little too sweet. The burgers are thick so if you like a beefy patty, these are for you!The grilled cheese I had was the best I've eaten in a long time. Overall a successful outing!"
"The wagyu sliders were amazing! Absolutely loved that and the mac and cheese side that I got. I thought the fries would taste pretty generic but they were good too.Super popular spot but the service is good!"

"The 5-8 Club absolutely lives up to the hype! Their Juicy Lucy is an absolute must-try and truly a masterpiece. The burger was perfectly cooked, with the melted cheese oozing out in every bite so flavorful and satisfying! Be careful the cheese is extremely hot as you bite in! It's hands down one of the best burgers I've had for someone who prefers their burgers black and blue temperatures lol. They take the juicy Lucy and put their own spin on it. We ordered the saucy sally and the roadhouse versions. The sauce on my roadhouse juicy Lucy was absolutely delicious and was great on the burger and the fries. The fries are perfectly crisp and lightly salted. The saucy sally was also pretty good just super messy to eat. So be prepared for a messy meal but a delicious one. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. They really know how to make you feel at home.If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and a chance to try the iconic Juicy Lucy, look no further. I can't recommend this spot enough and will definitely be back for more if I'm ever in the area again! They have their own parking lot which makes parking super easy and their prices really are great."
"I visited 6Smith for the first time last weekend to celebrate my sister's birthday, and it did not disappoint! Having enjoyed multiple visits to Baldamar, I was excited to see what 6Smith had to offer, and it lived up to the hype. The menu was overwhelming in the best way--so many enticing options that I knew I couldn't go wrong. The Bread is Life was an absolute must-have: warm, soft, and paired with incredible accoutrements. I nearly ordered a second one to take home! We also decided to share the dry rub wings, and I'm so glad we did. They were perfectly seasoned, juicy, and moist while still achieving a nice crisp on the outside; just how wings should be. For dinner, I ordered the short rib, and I had zero regrets. Between the two appetizers, I barely made a dent in it and had plenty of leftovers to take home. The tamarind in the tomato-based sauce added a subtle hint of sweetness that perfectly complemented the savory flavor of the meat. I'd absolutely order it again, though with so many other tempting options on the menu, it may take me a while to circle back!Since we dined in early February, it was too dark to see the waterfront location, but I'm already looking forward to a return visit for brunch and a summer patio experience. The only downside to my visit was a small but frustrating detail: When I ordered a dirty martini, the server asked if I preferred regular or blue cheese olives. Naturally, I chose blue cheese (because, obviously), only to later notice a $2 surcharge on the bill. I don't mind paying extra, but I do mind not being informed upfront. It's a poor practice that left a bit of a sour note on an otherwise excellent experience. That said, I'll absolutely be back--there's still so much on the menu I want to try!"
"Great burgers and fries! Lovely neighborhood joint with creative weekly specials. Such cute and inviting, casual decor with warm and friendly service. I hope to come back soon for their Happy Hour deals!Don't skip on the skin-on FRIES! They are delicious. Burger of the Month:Niman Ranch Beef with sautéed honey crisp apples, bacon, maple mustard sauce, and Gruyère cheese."
"The food is one thing to talk good about it, but the service is even better!!! The vibe also just makes it so great!"
"The food is great, never a bad meal here. The hours are great and you can't beat the service. Our server was handling over 4 tables and we never had to ask for refills. The ambiance gives the old dinner feel."
"This is such a magical place during the end of the year! They go all out with tons of holiday spirit! They have specialty drinks in holiday mugs and kitchy glasses. The entire place is decorated from top to bottom with tinsel, lights and balls! The main menu available all year round has amazing burgers and sides. You will find quality meat, coupled with delicious jams, spreads, cheese, bacon and so much more.Don't sleep on the grilled cheese with tomato soup on those cold nights. They pack.chips into the sandwich just like I did as a kid!The bar is spacious and has many tvs if you'd like to watch a game here year round as well. The staff are the best, with quick service, good attitudes and smiles!"
"The husband and I split the chicken fried steak breakfast and the apple fritter French toast breakfast. Everything came out piping hot and cooked perfectly. Delish! Our server was super friendly and had jokes!"
"Juicy Lucy's and beer?? What could be better?? Went here after work and had great service and even better food. I had the guys big bite and it sure was big, enough food for my lunch and dinner... lolWe got some flaming hot cheese curds and they were really good, not too hot and a lot of flavor. Would definitely come here again, plenty of drinks on the menu and a very fun atmosphere."
"This 24 hr Diner was located across the street from our hotel so we were able to conveniently walk over whenever we were in the mood for some tasty food! Though the down side is that they take a long time...both times that we've gone, there was either 1 or 2 servers for the entire restaurant floor and it would be hectic with the amount of parties coming in as well. If you have the time to sit and wait for the food or even to have your order taken, I definitely would try them out! We got their Frickles (Fried Pickles), Poutine, and Chicken Wings with Dry Jerk Seasoning. The fried pickles were delicious paired with their ranch sauce. My second favorite was their chicken wings which were huge! It's only 5 pieces but it's including the drum stick and wing together. Overall, their food is delicious and if we're ever back, we'd come back to try their other goodies. The ambiance is an old school diner vibe. There are shows on certain days on the rooftop/upstairs. There's a security guard that checks IDs at the door as well."
"Great service, app happy hour is very reasonable and good. The patio is big and not noisy as it is by the highway"

One of our favorite places to grab drinks or lunch/dinner. Service is always great, menu is simple and food is consistent. Get the 60/40 burger ... so good! And they make a really good Bourbon Old Fashioned. Nice vibe always crowded and good energy.

Been on a hunt trying to find a good juicy lucy and this hit the spot!! Out of all the places I've been to this has to be my favorite. I came on a Friday night for dinner and there was no wait. I was seated right away and the waiter came out and greeted my friend and I quickly. Also note that there is parking!! I got the roadhouse burger. This included stuffed with American cheese and topped with our 5-8 sauce, bacon and an onion ring. Everything about this was so good!! When I bit into the burger, all the cheese popped out and it tasted amazing. The meat, bacon, cheese all went well together. I do like onion rings but I ate that separately as it was too big to bite it all together. The portion is quite large. I didn't finish it all so I took some home. The fries were crispy and salty. This place is a must try!! The workers were so sweet and nice. The food took a little long to come out but it was nice looking at the decor inside and how ancient it all looked. If you want a good juicy lucy, this is your place!

Great food and service! And tastes much better than the pictures!Came for restaurant week and everything was great or very good. The plating wasn't always the most attractive so the pictures don't really do the food justice.Couldn't get a reservation so asked to sit at the bar, and was offered a booth in the bar area, which was perfect. Server gave us recos, and each dish was a hit. For tartare was amazing, and the roasted vegetable salad was very good. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the short rib was very tasty. I loved the flan, and the chocolate mousse dessert was great too. Will definitely go back for the food and service!

Some friends and I came here after a yoga class because we wanted to hang out longer, and it was a great choice! We were in between meals, but it was the weekend so still had a pretty steady lunch crew inside. We opted to get snacky things to share, like fries and fried pickles. All were great and easy shareables.I got a root beer float as well which hit the spot. They offer burgers, soups, salads, and sandwiches - and even have a dog treat menu item. Our service was personable and friendly, and we were well attended to. The ambiance inside feels like a classic neighborhood joint and I loved that!

I thought I had reviewed this place but I can't seem to find it. Brunsons is one of the best pubs in the Twin Cities. I've been here many times and will be there many times in the future! Their food is top notch, they have an outstanding happy hour, but their customer service is out of this world best I've ever experienced in the state.I highly recommend this place for anyone!

It's been 5 years, so I figured it was time for an update! This spot is STILL one of my favorite greasy spoon brunch spots, with a legendary serving team that's been around for ages, all your favorite classic foods, and that feeling of community (or are we just all hungover together?) on a weekend morning.I'll keep this update short and sweet - here are some of my faves:- BYO omelet- corned beef hash- cajun breakfast (ask for the hollandaise on the side to smother on your own)- lunch: cubano (get the sweet potato tots as a side!)- my partner loves their pancakes and cinnamon rolls - I always order a chocolate milk heheThis place just feels like community and nostalgia, and I love that. Loading up on eggs and hashbrowns for weekend brunch just hits the spot!

My friend and I chose to visit the Red Cow in Uptown for their holiday Rose Nose Room pop-up bar! We arrived at about 5:30pm on a Friday and the bar was already in full swing. We had mixed feelings about the pop-up bar. The themed bar was help on their enclosed patio. It was absolutely packed, there weren't many high tops to stand at and absolutely no seating other than one table in the back, or the photo backdrop. The themed cocktail menu wasn't overly enticing with a lot of cinnamon flavored drinks, we chose to just go with wine and champagne. The wait for a 2 person table ended up being about 45 minutes which I understand for a Friday, but so early in the evening was a bit surprising. The fun part was their super cute Santa's chair photo station! It was super festive and they had plenty of props to use.The food and drinks at the restaurant were nice as always. This being my first winter themed pop-up bar I wasn't super impressed unfortunately.

"Reserved a high top for 4 on Sunday to celebrate my son's 25th b-day. Enjoyed awesome HH specials: 2nd pints for a $1 on all drafts, and cheap apps. Normally HH ends at 5pm, but 3:30p Vikings game kept it going much later. Enjoyed Cajun Steak Bites, State Fair Cheese Curds, Caprese Flatbread, and a killer $10 cheeseburger & fries. Full generous app portions were nice and the discounts were significant. Place was vibrant, with the Vikings game on many large screens throughout. Great attentive service. I highly recommend GN...especially for HH and watching the Vikings through their playoff run."
"Love this neighborhood bar!! Burgers & cheese curds are recommended, and they have trivia night every Wednesday at 7:30 that's a ton of fun! It's not trivia mafia, which is great imo"
"I really loved this place!! The workers are very polite, hardworking and fast paced with all of the orders coming in! Very busy in the summer!! Fills up fast inside the restaurant at busy lunch hours. I had to try the Blackberry Shake because I saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and YUM I'm not disappointed very unique shake flavor and tastes so light and refreshing and blended with fresh blackberries. Onion rings tasted great. The cheeseburger tasted great as well next time I will for sure get a double patty! Very retro looking and love the feel of it! Looking forward to the next time of coming here when we visit up North again!!"
"A nice relaxed place. Good service and an intimidating selection of spirits, particularly bourbon (big surprise). We had a couple smoked bourbon s and whiskeys. My tri-tip with chimmichurri was perfect. Others had sandwiches and other entrees I wasn't privy to due to my face being busy with delicious mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. Those seem a little bit of an afterthought. The flavors were great, but the sprouts were unevenly cooked, ranging from succulent to tough and undercooked. A fine time was had by all."
"Recently moved nearby so figured I'd give it a try. Menu is decently priced and they staff is very friendly. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, while the burger was great, I'm not a fan of string fries. I prefer regular cut fries. This is my only complaint. I will come back and try the breakfast."
"Enjoyed an amazing dinner on their Wednesday trivia night! The fish and chips was glorious. This is a very controversial take- but this was better than any fish and chips we had on our Ireland and UK trip... crispy fillets that had a good ratio of breading. Wonderful flavor and dipping sauce, perfectly complimented by a side of coleslaw. All washed down with a Smithwicks on draft. An overall enjoyable English pub experience right here in msp!"
"Always get friendly service and their creative menu and different specials keep me coming back!"
"Food is always phenomenal and the beer selection is great. Servers are always attentive and friendly."
"Really delicious! When they say hot peppers, they mean hot! We enjoyed Chicago dogs, split and Italian combo and fries. The Chicago dogs were full of toppings, authentic Chicago dog flavor! The Italian combo had juicy beef and a well flavored sausage. Definitely will be back... the local fountain sodas were very good! Give them a try!"
"Had a family meal here. Reasonable sized parking lot just outside, shared with Domino's Pizza. Inside, there is a ton of seating, either high top near the bar or low top down the steps. The bar area has fun lighting to add some sparkle. They have a nice outdoor area (it's January so didn't give that a whirl). Everyone ordered burgers although they have some other options too. Service was perfectly attentive. The burgers were mediocre, mostly cooked beyond their very own recommended medium making some a bit tough. The fries (regular and waffles) stood out but were under seasoned. In general, the food was lacking in the flavor department . Not a burger joint to rush back to for our group."
"I stopped there on a business trip at a colleagues recommendation. I had a panko breaded walleye with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable. Very tasty and a quality meal. The service on the other hand was very poor. At sat for twenty minutes before anyone showed up to take my order. Then the server got the order wrong but kitchen turned it around quickly and got me the correct meal. The server never returned so another twenty minutes after my meal I went to seek out someone to pay my bill. I spoke to the manager who was very understanding and took care of matters. So great food. A bad night for service, so a 3 rating."
"First time here, very impressed! Lots of fun soda choices. Guy working was super friendly, quick and helped us pick something we'd like. Burgers were good, cheese curds were GREAT! I was a bit suspicious of the Berry jam that came with them, but they worked really well together! Yummy!"
"I really like this place. It feels like a semi-upscale burger joint. Food is excellent. We went for a school fundraiser and loved it so I went back a few weeks later. Very good food."
"We had a reservation next door and decided to stop in for a drink beforehand. It was an unseasonably warm October day, so we chose to sit on the rooftop patio. I decided to try something really unique, so I chose the chai tea with vanilla vodka. It was so good! The patio was also really great. I bet the place is hopping in the summer. Although we don't live in Rochester, we will happily go back next time we are in the area."
"Cassie M was the best server I have ever had, absolutely incomparable to any other waiters. Other restaurants wish they had the absolute workforce that Cassie is, thank you so much Cassie."
"I'm not vegan but this is one of the best burgers I've had. The service was quick, the waitstaff were kind, and the ambiance was so fun. Definitely a "must visit" on a vegan food tour of the Twin Cities."
"Forget seeking out the Juicy Lucy, this was so much better! The ambience is what I have always pictured a true midwestern dive bar to be. Old school, nothing fancy. Started off with a cold Hamm's beer and fried cheese curds....delicious! I then had their play on a Big Mac with onion rings on the side.....the burger was perfectly cooked with some pink in the middle. I devoured it! It was heavenly! To top off the night, they had a bingo game taking place...I ended up winning $65!I used public transit to get here, Blue Line Train to Mall of America and then hop on the 515 bus....easy as can be."
"A great place to have a fast breakfast large portions and cooked right. Home jelly too!!One of the few restaurants that have grits! And the greeter James here will have you feeling very welcome because he is so rich with life. We look forward to him every time we go there."
"Hands down my favorite burger place in the Twin Cities. If I'm getting a burger I really don't like to go anywhere else as it always feels like a letdown. My go-to is the mushroom and Swiss burger. I've gotten others too and liked them quite a lot but I just can't get enough of this one. We come here weekly and I nearly always get this. The other 10% of the time I get the elote wings or something that is on special. Never been disappointed. Also love the homemade potato chip side with dill dip. Mini donuts for dessert are great as well. You really can't go wrong as far as I'm concerned. Great lively ambience and always the same friendly workers. They don't appear to have staffing problems like other places."
"Annie's is back!!! Annie's was a staple of my freshman year, and I was so sad when it closed due to Covid. Now she's back and just as good as ever!!! I love their grilled cheese and milkshakes. They are AMAZING!!! Their fries also are delicious, so salty and perfect to dip in your shake (iykyk). Annie's also has an amazing patio so highly recommend sitting out there if it's nice out! Be sure to stop by and support their reopening!"
"This review is for the cleanliness of the restaurant. This is the grossest restaurant I have ever eaten at! I know you are short staffed and busy, but please take some time and clean the restaurant. As in the quality of the food, it was pretty tasty, but I lost my appetite because of how gross the restaurant was. Please clean up!"
"DELISH! What a gem right here in the east metro area. I was craving a burger and this place is legit and hit the spot. Upon arriving at the restaurant, they have tiered seating and huge tv screens. What a great place to watch sports especially Minnesota teams. What a great set up. I love that you don't feel on top of other patrons too. We were seated at a side booth that was super roomy. The service is great! We had Sanyla and she was awesome and on top of things. I ordered the gluten free juicy Lucy. The gfree bun was one of the best buns I've had. It had sesame and poppy seed buns and didn't fall apart. I upgraded to the fries side option which was great. The fries had some good seasoning. I also ordered the banana bread old fashioned...yum!"
"Excellent place for breakfast. Probably one of the best omelets I've ever had. Many quality ingredients from which to choose. I will definitely be a repeat customer."
