"This great moon is way better than the one on white bear. The food quality here is better also. They have the Mongolian bbq here. I actually think their Mongolian bbq is better than khans. The noodles for the Mongolian BBQ is the round not square like noodles. Fried chicken here is also good. I usually make a sauce with the dumpling sauce and chili oil to dip in. If you looking for sushi here there's not much to choose from. It's just the simple rolls they have. Price is just as any other buffets. Only thing is I say that sucks is some of the people that dine there tend to be messy and have their kids running around like it's their house. Other than that, this is my go to buffet on the west side."
"The owner is an absolute LEGEND, and the food is top notch! This was on our Hopkins bucket list since moving here, and it didn't disappoint. The owner is mainly doing takeout only right now, and since he was missing a staff member that night hadn't planned to provide dine in service. But he welcomed us in and gave great service! The CHAI. All I'm gonna say, is you have to taste it to believe it. Dreams really do come true. My partner wouldn't stop stealing sips!I got the butter chicken and it was flavorful and creamy- spot on. My partner got an absolute mountain of lamb biryani and he loved the flavors and sauce. The owner chatted with us when he was free and is a total gem. He had us laughing constantly! While we were there, several folks came in for takeout and one even paid for the next strangers' tab! You can tell this is a local favorite. We'll be back!"
"Surprise from start to finish! Soul food in Minneapolis!???!The storefront is no no no. It isn't open...and if it is, would I dare go in? You walk in; empty showcase but there is a whole other world beyond. Tin ceiling. Murals. Gold. Velvet Stand in line. Customers look real. we are the only white guys in the place. Food, food, food. Pay by the pound! It was too good to photograph. I started eating before I got to my table! Mmmmmm. If you are into crisp, dente vegetables and grilled meat, this is not your spot. It's southern home cooking. I had a scoop of cooked cabbage, about a cup and a half, collard greens, yams, mashed potatoes. The only surprise the gravy was thin and light. Delicious. Meat loaf, falling off the bone jerk chicken. Corn bread that looks ordinary and was the best I have ever had. Next time I will take two pieces. No honey but it would only distract from its goodness. The only crisp food was the fried chicken. It's unique. The staff was super, down home friendly. Great booths for private conversations. Beautiful setting. If you want an experience go. Take your time, embrace. We went on a week night. Quiet but comfortable. I would love to go back on a busy weekend; I bet the vibe is phenomenal!!!!!"
"We stopped in during the week for a quick lunch. Great service! We were immediately greeted and shown to our table. The Buffet is full of choices from appetizers to soups to main dishes to sides and desserts. Lots of variety. Great prices too!"
"I've been to many Asian buffets during my work travels. This is one of the best I have visited. I sampled several items, and everything tasted fresh. There was ample selection to choose from, as well. The foods themselves are typical items that you usually find on Asian buffets, but it was all high quality. My favorite items were the General Tso chicken and the Szechuan chicken. The sushi had good flavor and was not dried out, as is common for buffets. The crab rangoons were crisp and flavorful. I even tried some French fries and mozzarella sticks, which were both excellent. Aside from the food, I really liked the atmosphere. One of my biggest pet peeves is poor lighting, especially in buffets. This place is brightly lit. I also do not enjoy having my ears assaulted with loud music, and the music that was playing was quite soft and low volume. Overall, a good lunch experience. If I return the area, I will be a return customer."
"This place is seriously underrated! I love how you can get both Chinese and Hmong food at this buffet which was so surprising and nice for me because this side of the cities don't usually have a lot of Hmong food options (at least compared to St. Paul). There is both a DIY pho bar (Hmong style) and tri color dessert bar which makes it fun. For other Hmong food options there is Lao style papaya salad, boiled chicken and yes even Hmong pepper!Everything is pretty much self serve including drinks. I do agree that some of the dishes weren't fresh looking or needed to be filled but also it was just starting to get busy so I think they were just keeping an eye out to not waste food. I think for the price and location- I was pleasantly impressed and will be back."
"Four stars because there were only few items I did not like. Watermelon was crunchy fresh which surprised me. Swirl ice cream was good: I asked them if I can come back and pay one dollar get one without the buffet and they said it's OK. Mac Donald does not have swirl ice cream. Few minor cuts in the furniture here and there. Eggrolls were good. Many items I liked. Ample parking and cleanliness acceptable. Silver Ware was kinda from my grandmother's era, but clean. 7.99$ lunch: best quality price ratio."
"We grew up on Ho Ho's friend chicken wings and basically every single plate pictured in this review. It's been over a decade since we lived near this restaurant and we still talk about it frequently. We finally got to stop by while in town. They've renovated, clean, plenty parking, and restrooms available. The service is amazing. You can call ahead to make reservations, you can also order to go and they are so considerate about asking if you need paper plates and utensils! You can not go wrong with anything here. It's comfort on a plate. If this is your first time definitely try one of their appetizer soups and get the Ho hos fried chicken wings! They also have a buffet available during certain hours! They can get busy, especially on weekends! But plenty seating and great for large parties as well!"
"It was really good. The place was clean but the employees didn't help or refill our drinks at all. Crab legs were nice and it was worth the money. I would definitely go back!"
"I found the buffet food during my most recent visit to be average - some good and some not so good. Some of the food was greasy and the sweet sour chicken cold and tasteless. My favorite was the coconut chicken and the salmon. Sometimes it's hard to avoid this place since it is only a few blocks from my place. Most convenient for our family."
"The buffet is much better than Super moon. Fresher food, rotated quicker. Also, more variety! The Sushi bar is pretty good, and the desert table also is great. I love coming here, just wish there were more locations."
"Excellent Thai food!!! Sawatdee is kind of a Thai landmark in town, everyone knows it. The food is delicious and just what you're looking for to get that authentic Thai flavor."

No cocktail sauce, but tons of shrimp. Very good Hot and Sour soup. Has one of those hibachi things but the line is long.

I really enjoy the food here! Tasty Indian and Tibetan dishes. Everything is top quality with the best flavors. I've always had excellent service as well. I think the owner is always the one sitting us at our table and taking our order. All of the other employees do a great job of cooking and serving. It's a quaint little restaurant that's cozy and busy, but not packed wall to wall so much. There's usually a few tables of dine-ins and quite a few take out orders being picked up! If I lived in Hopkins that would probably be an issue on my credit card bill!I've really enjoyed the chai tea...hot or cold it's delicious. I love their appetizer combo and garlic naan. I've really enjoyed all of the different dishes I've tried so far. Guess I might as well try to get through the entire menu. It's a great little spot for some delicious eats.

This is a buffet style restaurant. We were in the mood for some soul food take out! They didn't take phone orders so we were ok to go in and wait but we're really surprised when she brought us back to make our plates. We got an assortment of different foods and some of the top pieces were the bbq chicken drummies, the fried chicken, and the cabbage. Cabbage was done to perfection and seasoned well. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and still juicy and the bbq chicken had a really nice subtle bbq that wasn't over the top. Cornbread really stole the show for me as a little dessert.Thinking back, I should have for sure splurged on the pineapple upside down cake that was shown in the front. I am a huge greens fan, but I am particular about the taste and salt content. These greens didn't impress me too much, and I left them on my plate. The jerk spaghetti was something new I was excited to try. I don't like olives and there were olives added. It also had a sweet undertone that I wasn't super big on. My grandparents joined us for dinner and got the meatloaf and both of them were highly impressed though I didn't personally give it a try. Good place overall. Service was friendly and kind. The woman that helped us was really sweet and made the meatloaf plate look a lot more presentable and I appreciated that extra step she took. Price is by pound.

I normally do not go to buffets but my family wanted to try this place. We went at 2 definitely not lunch or dinner. Place was clean. I was impressed how they constantly kept refilling trays with hot food. Dirty dishes were picked up immediately. I tried a few different items. My family really enjoyed the variety. Cost was reasonable. I'm guessing next time I'm in Minnesota we'll go here again.

Typically Chinese buffet with standard fare but they did have peanut butter chicken which I love. Everything was self serve including drinks. They were quick to bus tables. Ice cream machine had twist option.

Ho Ho gourmet has been an East Side St Paul staple for decades. The staff is always friendly and greets you right out the door and the cozy dining room has a nice family living room type of vibe That's always been very inviting. I've never been disappointed with their food. The only critique I have is since the parents turn the restaurant over to the younger generation the recipes although the same seem to have fallen off a bit when it comes to that recognizable flavor. The wings that they are very famous for are cooked to perfection but are not as well seasoned and flavorful as they once were, That aside their lo mein and sweet and sour chicken and chicken with vegetables are always hands down made to perfection every time! I personally been dining at ho ho for well over 30 years, They are always my favorite go-to spot for that quick lunch when you're really busy and on the go or for that long weekend when you want something quick but homemade reasonably priced to feed everybody and meet everybody's needs.

"I'd been eying up this place the past several times I stayed in the Plymouth, MN area. I finally got there the last time I was in town. It was overall a really nice experience. The service wasn't particularly fast but it was pleasant and I was in no hurry. It was a rainy night in fall and I really enjoyed having some hot tea while waiting for my entree. The food (I got Kung Pao Chicken) was quite tasty. It was in line with safe, familiar American Chinese food. Which hit the spot for me. The place is very close to the hotel I always stay at, so I'm sure I'll return!"
"Been eating Leo's Chow Mein forYears & it's always good except theNoodles aren't as good as they used to be."
"Randomly landed on this place while scrolling through yelp for a place to eat at. Located in a small strip by other restaurants and stores. It was a little quiet when we got here with only a couple other tables around 5 pm. Place is a little older looking. The menus are old so the price is not updated. They even place a piece of paper to say price may differ from menu so if you really want to know how much something is, check. All of our dishes and drinks were more than menu price. This location has decent lassi for my liking. I did enjoy the mango more than strawberry. The food came out within reasonable time given that it wasn't busy. All of the dishes were delish and nothing to complain about. They were all flavorful. I honestly recommend all of the dishes we got. I did not enjoy the lamb curry because I'm not a lamb person and it def has the lamb aftertaste. Service was great. Please spend the money and update the menu, especially they are more than a dollar increase so customers can plan appropriate."
"I don't understand all of the high ratings for this restaurant - I'm calling them 2.5 stars.GOOD:You get a large amount of food for a moderate amount of money. For example, I got 2 eggs rolls, 1 big soup and 1 giant entrée for 17 bucks. It totaled up to several pounds of food, easily enough for 2 adults...plus some. The staff was very friendly and professional. I talked to one person on the phone and another at pickup. Again, very they were both nice people.BAD:The food was mediocre at best. They follow the same recipes as thousands of local Chinese food joints, nothing special whatsoever. The greens in my entrée had hardly any green left. This is a sure sign of sitting around and being overcooked to death. Whatever nutrition and flavor that was once there was long gone.No indoor seating! At least 95% of the food joints in Hudson are open for indoor seating (with common sense precautions), but NOT Kinddom Buffet. Of course, this is their right. But it's also my right to bitch about it.I might try the buffet when they re-open. But overall, at this point, I'm not impressed.-Daddy Maxx Retro"
"Such a small and quiet restaurant, good for small get togethers with family or friends. Prices are fair, service is fantastic and the food is good."
"The drinks and food are consistently good - we come here regularly and they always have some items on a rotating menu to keep things fresh, which we appreciate!"
"Delicious! I was hesitant at trying this place based on the reviews but I'm glad I came. The staff is very friendly. They make sure your glass is never empty and check to see if there is anything you may need. The price was fair and affordable. You can even do takeout from the buffet. The food was fresh and hot. Everything we tried was delicious. We tried the fried rice, noodles, cream cheese, sweet bread, chicken dishes and beef dishes and more. This is family run and they work as a team to make sure the food stays fresh and the buffet full all day. Highly recommend."
"I decided to give this place a try after driving by for years. I stopped by to get lunch buffet takeout and the first thing I noticed was how busy this place is! I guess there must be lots of loyal customers. When we were leaving, the line to get in was out the door! Most of the food is very basic and a lot of the items on the salad bar looked old and weathered. They also have a weird pricing guide, they charge a lot more if you get seafood, but I'll be honest those tiny shrimp did not look appetizing at all and I do not think they warrant a higher price! There were two options for take out during lunch: per pound ($5.99 without seafood and $9.99 with seafood) or they have an option to just fill the box ($10.99 without seafood, $14.99 with seafood). It's just odd because the cream cheese wontons are labeled as seafood even though I'm pretty certain there was just cream cheese in there. The one redeeming quality is that they have Mongolian bbq, which I love! You pick out frozen meat, noodles, veggies and sauce and they cook it for you on a hot stone! This is one of my favorites and I don't think we have any true Mongolian bbq spots left in the twin cities! So really I would give 1-2 stars BUT my love for Mongolian bbq bumped it up to a 3!"
"The food was hot and fresh, the selection was huge, and they had a hibachi grill. We are very, very pleased and happy and full."
"I had given up on Chinese buffets back in 2014.I know that the people that run some of those Asian food buffets would not eat the food they served to others.Oily, over cooked tasteless stuff. It was ubiquitous...from North Dakota to Minnesota. It was worst in smaller towns. Well not anymore! Guess who's back...back again...buffets back...tell a friend! Teppanyaki Grill and Supreme Buffet has renewed my faith in Asian food buffets.I walked in hesitant but very soon my hesitance turned in to unbridled happiness. The food was fresh and hot! A concept that works!A few things stood out like the Teppanyaki Chicken,Roasted prime rib and hot and spicy chicken! The fried rice was prepared well and fresh. The chicken for the hot and spicy chicken had crunch when bitten in too.The Mongolian grill was nicely kept with tons of fresh choices of meat and fresh veggies. They also had a sushi bar.The amount of different varieties of food was almost endless.Desert was a treat with the chocolate fountain and real ice cream that had to be scooped! If you are around Minneapolis this is the spot to check out for Asian buffet food."
"Located on the corner of Larpenteur and Lexington, this place sort of blends in. It's apart of the strip mall full of many choices like Home Goods, Elite Nails, Anytime Fitness, Johns Tailors and so much more. On the bus line, and near the locals "shopping center" we found this option by googling "buffets near me." We walked in to a woman sitting on her phone, we weren't greeted but she said "how many" as if she was annoyed, and continued to stay on her phone. My father stated "2" and she stood up, quoted the price of around $25 and tossed the table "reservation" sign at us (it mentions not to waste and to ask for help if needed) Now that we've been standing here for about two minutes, she still hasn't made eye contact with us. I chuckled in frustration and walked away, because I absolutely HATE terrible customer service. At this moment she looks up with slight concern on her face, because- excuse my French- she knew she had us f***** up. If it were up to me, we would have turned around and left but I was with my father and I bit my tongue. They didn't deserve our support. The way she carelessly tossed the sign across the less than 12 inch counter replays in my mind, and I think of a multitude of ways I could karate chop her in her throat (not really, but a girl can dream.. right?) We seated ourselves in the last booth near the restrooms, which was perfect because I was disgusted at the sight of the cashier. The young lady who cleaned our tables did a great job at smiling and being prompt. Kudos to her, she's the best. My dad and I had a really great time, trying new things and suggesting things to one another. The food was OK. I loved the clams and they have a good selection for anyone on a pescatarian diet, like myself. For the first time in a long time, I treated myself to a little desert to sweeten up the sour experience I had walking in. Ice cream with sprinkles will bring the kid out in you. If you read any of my reviews, very rarely do I have this disposition. I really want to make sure you understand how unkind our initial interaction was and how displeased I was that we stayed after being treated in such a manner. However, I can not deny that I was pleased with the menu, and finding some foods that cater to my diet. (Not many, but some) Would I go again? Maybe I'd give them another shot. I enjoyed spending time with my dad, the meatless options they had, and how the entire restaurant is self serve. 1 Star for location, 1 Star for food and 1 Star for the waitress who gathered our plates."
"There is very delicious Chinese food and very friendly people work here. I look forward to going back again!"
"Good food and drink! We visited on a Thursday night and it wasn't too busy. There was a "spirited" discussion going on at the bar (yes, pun intended!), but it wasn't too noisy and it was easy to find a seat. No hostess to greet you, just find a spot and they will help you.The menu is not fancy - burgers, sandwiches and appetizers covers it. I had a veggie burger with fries and a hard selzter. Hubby had a chicken sandwich and a few beers. Everything was hot and fresh. The fries I had and the tater tots that hubby had were nice a crisp! We both felt recharged and full after eating our meal. I don't agree with the other yelpers claim that the food and drink were expensive. Maybe it's because I'm from Chicagoland, but they seemed right in line with other places I've been. $10 for a veggie burger and paying $3 for fries instead of chips seemed like a bargain! Our server was very friendly which was much appreciated. We had been at a college orientation session that day and had been talked at all day, so her conversation was a welcome addition to a great meal. This is on a busy corner, be careful. Press the button for the walk signal!"
"It be slim pickingsMy return would be doubtfulKeep on exploringDecided to give this place a whirl as it is one of the closer Chinese Buffets to my work that I have not been to. It is in an off the beaten path strip mall location. There are not very many items on the buffet. Maybe like ten or so choices. The sesame chicken was probably the best thing that they had available. Everything else was rather meh. Lo mein, fried rice and egg rolls were nothing special. The cream cheese in the wontons was piping hot. Almost burn your mouth hot. The only dessert options were some cookies and some other crumble dish. No ice cream.Price was $8.60 for the buffet. Be advised that this price does not include your beverage. I got chased down to my car to pony up an extra two bucks for a Diet Coke."
"Stopped in for a quick dinner before a meeting and it was fairly close to where we had to be. A lot of the food that we tried was really cold and seemed to be sitting there for a little bit. It didn't seem all that fresh or replenished. A few of the items were good. The chicken wings were the nice plump ones and had a nice batter. My son even ate one. The hot or luke warm dishes were okay, not a lot of variety compared to some of the other places. A lot of the meat options looked dried out or old. They did have fresh fruit which was nice. Pineapple, watermelon etc... Booths and tables were a little dirty. The service was friendly and the lady taking care of our table was lovely."
"For ~$16 for buffet lunch, it's a good deal and fun experience. The food itself was hit or miss. The hummus, gyro meat, and salad bar were the best part. There were an assortment of chicken and fish dishes that were fine but not particularly tasty. The mashed potatoes were flavorless (should have avoided in the first place, lol). The dessert bar had a lot of variety and was fun to try. Overall go for the experience of buffet but food is nothing to write home about."
"In town for a conference and looking for some vegan food. Had a delicious eggplant dish. Perfectly spicy. Lots of flavor. The garlic naan was generous and delightfully crispy. I definitely recommend"
"Love me some China moon. We love the takeout options. Definitely classic Chinese takeout and very good. Great service too. I've never eaten inside, only take out."
"India Palace was a great lunch spot to meet up with friends. They had a buffet that offered hot chai tea. I've never seen that at any other place. The staff was impeccable service wise. The food it self was great. I prefer spicier but since it was a buffet I know they must accommodate everyone's taste buds. This was the first time I tried the Indian dessert balls that were in syrup....delicious. My only wish is for garlic madness as well as regular naan."
"This is the go to Chinese buffet in the east metro. Sushi, the typical Chinese dishes, desert, and tonight they had shrimp, prawns, clams, and mussels."
"I really love all the different varieties of food really good food. The service there is awesome the waitress is always awesome. Definitely kid friendly family friendly; an awesome relaxed restaurant. Warm and inviting ambiance."
"I came with a group of 40 dental care Professionals for a CE dinner. We all showed up at once. Restaurant staff took our orders and we were served timely within 20-30 min.I had Dangerfield's burger: dangerously yummy. I did not get a pop up bread with my burger and I was jealous of my neighbor..... and too shy to ask for one.We sat downstairs: the air heater kept going on and off which is not pleasant when speaker has no microphone.Parking is ample, however caution necessary getting in and out."
"billet mom was not happy with this restaurant, nobody was willing to take orders. had to just walk out and get subway."
