"The 5-8 Club absolutely lives up to the hype! Their Juicy Lucy is an absolute must-try and truly a masterpiece. The burger was perfectly cooked, with the melted cheese oozing out in every bite so flavorful and satisfying! Be careful the cheese is extremely hot as you bite in! It's hands down one of the best burgers I've had for someone who prefers their burgers black and blue temperatures lol. They take the juicy Lucy and put their own spin on it. We ordered the saucy sally and the roadhouse versions. The sauce on my roadhouse juicy Lucy was absolutely delicious and was great on the burger and the fries. The fries are perfectly crisp and lightly salted. The saucy sally was also pretty good just super messy to eat. So be prepared for a messy meal but a delicious one. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. They really know how to make you feel at home.If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and a chance to try the iconic Juicy Lucy, look no further. I can't recommend this spot enough and will definitely be back for more if I'm ever in the area again!They have their own parking lot which makes parking super easy and their prices really are great."

"I stopped there on a business trip at a colleagues recommendation. I had a panko breaded walleye with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable. Very tasty and a quality meal. The service on the other hand was very poor. At sat for twenty minutes before anyone showed up to take my order. Then the server got the order wrong but kitchen turned it around quickly and got me the correct meal. The server never returned so another twenty minutes after my meal I went to seek out someone to pay my bill. I spoke to the manager who was very understanding and took care of matters. So great food. A bad night for service, so a 3 rating."

Even if you aren't a pizza fan, their dips and other appetizers are perfect companions to their craft cocktails. Order the three dips (hummus, baba ganoush, carrot tahina with peanut harissa) to have a little bit of everything.My one cocktail critique is ice. They use crushed ice, which overtakes the drinks, especially when sitting outside. Order them with light ice!"

The Lolo burger was just the right amount of heat and flavor to satisfy anyone's hunger!Parking is great and the staff is excellent, please check them out when in Hudson WI.Added bonus: close walk to the beach for Xmas lights or walking off the amazing food."

The combination of pretty stiff drinks, weekday beer specials and the consistently available $9 Beer and Jameson bump (shot) are superseded only by the Happy Hour deals (M-F, 3p-6p and M-Th, 11p-1p; 1/2 off taps, wines, wells and apps), pretty awesome pub style food, and Wednesday evening Wingo (whiskey bingo)!Walking in always gives me pause because of the combination of day drinkers, tattoo heavies, and misfits gathered around which I don't feel a strong sense of identity with. However, I love that everyone in the place is always lively and having a good time and I always feel welcome as does everyone I see that walks in.The rotating taps are great but what I really like here are some of the menu items. The kitchen does well in the area of the fried food arts. Pickles, chicken strips, cheese curds and wings are all solid choices made even better during happy hour pricing but the real guilty pleasure for me are the Tater Tots. I really try to adhere to low carb foods but the damn Tots here are my downfall. You can get them plain but a pro-tip is to spring for the extra buck and they will season them with garlic, sriracha or truffled salt. Well worth it as a guilty pleasure.The burger choices, sandwiches and other pub like food selections are solid and I haven't eaten anything here that has led to regret. For the food, drink and atmosphere it is a solid 4-star spot as a dive bar but I must add the 5th one simply due to those friggin' Tots."

Newt's North is the sibling bar and grill to Newt's original downtown location. It's significantly more spacious than its older brother, but both could be described as dark, loud, and slightly divey, with taxidermy mounts and blankets of popcorn perpetually and intentionally left covering the floor. Perhaps that's where the newts are hiding! Newtmerous sandwiches and unique burgers fill the menu here, earning the restaurant the title of "Best Burgers in Rochester" from Rochester Magazine every year since the early 2000's.The Three Piggy's Melt alone blows the house down with pepper Jack, crispy fried onions, bacon, ham, and pulled pork topped with a bourbon buffalo sauce (though personally I'd leave off the ham.) Wolf that baby down! My favorite hot mess to order is Todd's Burger, topped with bacon, fried eggs and cheese. It's a huge, delicious cardiac event waiting to happen. Split it into two meals or share it, because you're not going to grow a new heart unless you are, in fact, a newt. Not one to give Wisconsin all the glory for their curds, Newt's also makes some mean cheese curds that you simply must order on the side. While their burgers and curds are newtoriously good, I wouldn't make a special trip to Rochester just for dinner here. I understand that they don't have a lot of staff, however there wasnt a lot of people there. At most there were only 5 people in other booth. Food: The cheese curd was good, it is just like other cheese curd u get at other restaurant. The smokehouse wing was good, however it did not taste like gochujang and spicy. "All right. New location taking over from the old Liquor Lyle's. You ever come to this place? One of the best dive bar happy hour's in the WORLD. 2 for 1's ran from 9am-Noon, 3pm-6pm, & 9pm to midnight. Plus, if a Vikes game was on, it was 2 for 1's. Yes, you literally could have 9 hours of 2 for 1's on a Sunday. Ha! Ha! I wish I had pics of the government block cheese, saltine crackers, sardines, and the chicken wings that were dumped on the silver serving tray in the shape of that fryer basket. Legendary. But back to Litt. They kept a lot of the same shape of Lyle's, painted things and they have so many pinball machines. Plus there is parking in back and the street parking is honestly easier than their old location. And more importantly is that the food is on point. There is a thing happening food wise with five bars and I think LITT does it well. They offer up a smashie burger and it's $2-$4 cheaper than other places and also very good. The dogs are also being served and overall, that little kitchen makes some good grub. There are also booths that utilize the old playfield of a pinball machine. Shorty's (RIP) in Seattle used to have this and their Schtick too was hot dogs. I feel LITT has embraced this dive attitude with better grub and expanded it in a good way. Because honestly? It is about the pinball and having a regular beer. I recommend checking out the Pinball Map app to see what sort of machines are there if pinball is your thing.Also, playing earlier in the day increases your chances of actually hearing the machine."

"Next time you're out West of the Twin Cities you have got to stop in and try @irontapmn located in downtown Waconia, MN. This place is so quaint on the outside but buzzin' on the inside. Super cool vibes, excellent service and delicious food!!! They offer tons of craft beer on tap and great looking craft cocktails. I cannot wait to go back in the summer to enjoy their rooftop and patio seating areas!We started with the fried pickle rollups and they were super good. Great panko crust offered a nice crunch. I'm not a big ground mustard fan so pro tip is to order them with ranch (obvi). :)The walleye sandwich was also really good! I could have used a tad more tartar sauce on the bun but that's just me. The fish also had a delicious crunch to it and was very meaty. Once again, always get the fries w da ranch as a side. The sleeper here was the adult mac n cheese. Stacked with bbq pulled pork, poblano peppers, onions and more, this thing was killer! I always say if you see max w cavatappi noodles you know it's going to be and this was right there. The BBQ cheese sauce was super creamy and not overpowering. This dish was !!!Take a drive to visit Iron Tap out west in Waconia and you can thank me later!!"

"A good friend of mine suggested we meet here for lunch. I had never heard of the Wild Boar and based on initial reviews, honestly I didn't have high expectations. They are kind of off the beaten path in Oakdale. Tucked away just off of 694 and 10th street. It was a nice day so we decided to sit on the patio. They have a nice large patio with plenty of room and it has some nice shaded areas. I decided on the Wild Boar Cheesesteak which was prime rib with swiss cheese and sautéed onions and peppers. That came with Thai cream cheese on a hoagie roll with fries on the side. The fries were Ok, nothing special. The Wild Boar Cheesesteak was pretty darn good. The prime rib was tender, the onions and peppers were cooked perfectly and the thai cream cheese added a nice bite with some creaminess. I've had cheesesteaks from both Pat's and Gino's, no offense to anyone from Philly, this cheesesteak was better. My friend really liked her salad which also looked really good. We'll meet again for lunch and coming back to Wild Boar would be just fine by me."

I was the only person in the dining room ordering food. (There were only a handful of people at the bar.) So I expected a great burger, served quickly.My "famous" Beartown Burger & onion rings took half an hour to come out. Keeping an eye on my watch, I knew what was going to happen before the food hit my table. Of course, it was way over cooked to hell. The flavor certainly didn't warrant the "famous" label and it didn't live up to the Beartown restaurant name. The onion rings were okay but mostly flavorless and boring. I was hungry enough to eat a fried raccoon sphincter so it wouldn't have taken much to impress me. But they managed to drop the ball.I had an hour to watch everyone else at the bar. This is obviously a place where locals can hangout to drink and watch a game. Most of the people seemed to know each other. The prices are okay so I guess it's also a good place to bring kids that don't care much about food quality...or if you plan to get drunk and don't care much about flavor because you're half in the bag.My server was great. She was spot-on and on top of everything. Too bad the food didn't match up to the service.I'm being generous and calling them a 3 and hoping that - maybe - I just caught them on a bad day. "We had lunch here last time we were in Rochester. We ordered brunch drinks, as well as the blackened salmon tacos, the Asian chicken salad, and a burger. It's pretty unusual for our kids to eat all of their food, but apparently the burger was really good and they loved the fresh fruit side. My Asian chicken salad was pretty good, but I wished that they had put the chicken off to the side so that it didn't cover the entire thing in Korean barbecue sauce. I would've preferred the salad dressing on the vegetables. Unfortunately, the salmon tacos were so spicy that my SO wasn't able to eat them. The server noticed and ended up being so sweet about it and took them off the bill. Thankfully, he was so full on tortilla chips and queso that he didn't leave hungry. Overall, the service is great here and we've been back a couple times since and they continue to impress."

"Really enjoyed my time at Flask! I hadn't tried this place before because the menu was kind of small but I see now that I've been missing out! The interior is super cool. Decorated in a bunch of photos and different memorabilia. The drink menu is quite extensive and they do some really cool bourbon flights. I started with a cucumber Collins and I wear this tasted so good and refreshing. I was going to try a different drink but I just had to get a second one. My friend ordered the old fashion. I've never really enjoyed those before but this one was very tasty! Not too harsh. For an appetizer we started with the firecracker shrimp. These were absolutely delicious! And don't let the photo fool you, the portion was amazing. Could definitely be shared between 4 people and everyone would still get around 4-5 shrimp. For dinner I had the Buffalo chicken wrap. I really enjoyed this because it was pressed almost like a panini. It was refreshing to have a wrap that was warm and toasted. My friend had the shrimp street tacos and really enjoyed them. Over this place was pretty great! I'm definitely going to be coming back here soon."

"Welcome to Rochester!! This is the tenth in the franchise that covers MN/IA and has been open for just 4 weeks. This place rose to my top 5 burger places to go in Rochester. The service was questionable at first and it took several minutes to get a waitress but they made up for it with a complimentary appetizer, cheese curds. The cheese curds were actually a huge chunky of gooey white cheddar cheese. They were plentiful for the cost and had wonderful flavor.I opted for the Hickory Bacon Cheddar burger on a pretzel bun. WOW what a flavorful burger and the sweet BBQ was very good. The wait time once the order was placed was very reasonable considering the place was hopping! Still under covid19 restrictions the place was full, maintaining the 6ft distances and all the staff were wearing the masks (properly I might add)Wife ordered the chicken avocado and said it was very good. Both of us ordered the (included) French fries. They were good and may have been homemade, it was difficult to tell? Tasted fresh. They have a wide variety of sides but they get an additional $1.99 to up sale.The place had plenty of televisions with a wide variety of sports and even a music video channel as well as KTTC TV weather. The menu had many options which ensures a return visit from us, wings and pizza. This place was a solid 4.5 stars and once the minor service details are worked out will surely give Wild Bill's down the street a run for their money."

It's not the typical garbage ranch dressing used to mask bad food.The very large windows give it a nice open feel. The staff is very friendly. The prices are right in line with similar restaurants. It's located just off I-35 on the same frontage road as Cabelas. It's right by a Timberlodge Steakhouse and a Famous Dave's, but you'll like this place more."
