It's Interesting when you stop somewhere new and are totally rewarded with a great experience. Had no expectations of our visit but were greatly rewarded with a warm and fun experience. Food menu was small but tasty. Add a cup of soup or chili to your meal. We had burgers and apps. Just fun on a snowy Saturday night in the Hayward/Cable/Clam Lake area. Add to it live music going both Friday/Saturday. We will be back!

This place may be our new 'go to' place! Went there for appetizers and drinks. Great, friendly service and a down-home feel. Then went there for dinner and had a great burger. Our friends had the chicken sandwich, a burger and my husband had a hot beef sandwich - all were done to perfection. The atmosphere is nostalgic, up-north decor and would be a great place to relax, read a book, have lunch, or just enjoy the view on their sun porch or outdoor deck. They have music on Friday nights from 7:00 to 10:00, hope we can get there for the entertainment. Definitely recommend the Boulder Lodge and will go again.

Besides being one of the very few RV resorts in the area, Boulder Lodge has some great potential. The RV and camping sites were spacious and nicely isolated, though perhaps a bit rustic. Overall, the resort was well-tended.A big plus was the hundred-year-old Lodge, which had a small bar and served a limited - though delicious (with unique specials) - menu of food. The Lodge is open Thursday through Sunday only when we were there and we would have liked extended hours (lunch) and other evenings, but we realized the owners were a bit short staffed. We assumed the Lodge wasn't open during the day, which is too bad as we would have liked to have spent time inside, just reading and getting away from the mosquitos (which, BTW, were the worst we have ever experienced). The owners, Terry and Michelle, were very pleasant and accommodating. We popped into two of the three cabins they have for rent and they looked very quaint and cozy - a good option for non-tent/RV people. The resort had a lot of parkhomes, though we found those - and almost all of the camping sites - oddly empty, which is too bad. This is a great option for RVers looking to get away to northwest Wisconsin's backwoods. Hopefully more people will learn about the resort and frequent it, allowing the owners to continue to improve the property.
