This pizza is amazing! I ordered the Peras, which had the perfect balance of pears, cheese, nuts, and black pepper. The dill (and whatever was in the base) brought everything together in a savory/fruity blend of tastiness. I ordered through a delivery app and received my order ahead of schedule.

We LOVE Boludo's pizza and have gone to other locations, so when my family was in town, we decided to take them here!SERVICE: 3/5Unfortunately, the counter service was really lacking on our visit. The woman taking our order had her headphones in and seemed so annoyed at having to take our order. She brought our food out with an unfriendly demeanor and seemed so unhappy to be there, it brought down the mood of the space. However, as we were leaving and she was in the bathroom, we said thank you to the kitchen team since it's an open kitchen and they were soooo friendly and said goodbye and thank you to us! I don't love the mandatory service fee with it being counter service and bussing our own tables.FOOD: 5/5Their pizzas simply can't be beat. Every flavor is divine and the crust, cheese on top, and toppings are just unreal. Best gluten free pizza I've had? Probably. We went overboard and ordered just about every pizza and empanada on the menu. I don't dream of their empanadas quite as much as the pizza, though they are yummy too. We loved the house salad we got too - so fresh and filling!AMBIANCE: 4/5The vibe is a bit funny here (and at other locations) - there is large bench and table seating, but most people take it to go so even on a weekend evening, we were one of two tables there.

I think this location was having an off day when we visited. My boyfriend is from Argentina so I really wanted to take him here as I have really good memories of my previous experience at Boludo. This time however the empanadas were a little lack luster. My favorite is the ham and cheese and as you can see in the picture it was a bit over done so it wasn't super enjoyable. The others were fine but not as good as I remembered. Not to worry though I'll definitely have to go back and get them again - and maybe a pizza next time too.

The space itself is really small, which makes finding seating inside a bit of a challenge, especially during busy times. Despite the cramped quarters, the atmosphere is lively and the friendly, though somewhat aloof, staff add to the casual vibe. They were polite but seemed a bit distant when we tried to make friendly conversation while ordering. When it comes to the food, Boludo really shines. The carne empanada is a standout, packed with flavorful spices that make it far superior to the jamon y queso empanada, which unfortunately lacked taste. On the pizza front, the pepperoni pizza was super good, offering a deliciously savory experience. The margarita pizza, however, was a bit of a letdown--bland and boring in comparison. That said, the crust on both pizzas was outstanding, easily the best part of the meal, with a perfect texture and flavor that had us coming back for more.Dessert is where Boludo truly excels. The churro donuts are amazing--a must-have when you visit. They were the perfect sweet ending to the meal. One downside is the self-service aspect of the restaurant. Having to bus and fully clean our own table was a bit of a letdown, especially considering that there's no dedicated server. It almost makes you question the need to tip since the service is limited to taking your order at the register and delivering your food.Overall, Boludo offers great food, particularly the pizzas and churro donuts, in a cozy, albeit tight, setting. A few tweaks in service and seating could elevate the experience even more.

A rad, casual establishment to hang out, grab a drink, and eat delicious empanadas (and pizza!). I'd say the place and the people gave off cool vibes. Empanada Orders:Pollo: Chicken, peppers, oreganoHumita: corn, Fresno and Serrano peppers, fontinaLOVED the humita. Almost anything with corn is a good thing. Aside from the food, service was fast and friendly. Parking was easy on the street.

The food was good. I enjoyed the empanadas! The place has some seating but not much so make sure you claim a spot if you see one. The workers didn't seem super friendly but they were quick and efficient. The churro donuts have a bit of salt, but it turned out to be really salty...

Get yourself to Boludo's off Como! The downtown location always seems so busy and not worth the wait, but this location is kind of tucked away behind UMN campus. Lively atmosphere, but we didn't have to wait super long for our food. Less busy but just as good! I am a big fan of wood fire pizzas, and these were delicious. Definitely recommend the empanadas with chimichurri to start. I also got a single glass of wine, which was filled to the brim (!).

The food is really good. The customer service is also good. Beware the music is pretty loud so if you're looking for a place to eat and you want to eat here, this is probably not gonna be your jam. Also, if it's a game day, it's gonna be really hard to find a spot. The floors are always nasty and the cleanliness of the bathroom was less than impressive. Honestly, that's my biggest complaint. Cleanliness doesn't seem to be a priority. Parking is metered parking or parking in a nearby ramp.

All the rating goes to the food and not the environment, which means that when I get food from Boludo next time I will most likely do takeout instead of dine in, which is totally okay, because based on the food alone, Boludo absolutely deserves a 5.The empanadas are just delicious and each kind offers such a different type of flavor dimension. The only ones that tasted similar were carne and pollo because they used similar kinds of seasoning. I could taste the cumin visibly for both. The other kinds were pretty representative of their respective menu descriptions. There was also a small container of sauce we could use for the empanadas, and I don't know what the sauce was made from, but it was really good! Totally offered an even new kind of flavor. I have to comment on the Messi empanada because I actually liked it the least even if it was the special item. Its ingredients determined that it tasted almost like a hot pocket, and when I had it I just kept thinking "why am I ordering this here at Boludo" simultaneously. In terms of the pizza, I had one bite of the Peras and I thought it was great. The only problem for me was personal, that I didn't like gorgonzola cheese, so the "nasty" cheese taste made me realize how good the pizza would be for someone who loves that kind of cheese, and that's why I thought it was great (even if not for me). The Margarita, on the hand, was out of this world for me! I have had this kind of pizza in many places, but this one in Boludo was so good because I could taste the basil so well even when there was clearly not a basil leaf on a slice, let alone on slices that actually had basil leaves. The cheese was visibly fresh, which was amazing as well. The pizza was really thin, so I actually had to use a fork to transfer it to my plate, but that's okay because more content less crust anyway.Okay, now that I have talked about the food, I must say that when I stepped in, there were dirty plates everywhere and no one was cleaning them up. Luckily no customers were there so I was able to find a clean table. In addition, a lot of the plates were not really well-washed because I could visibly see dirty spots and sometimes even leftover food marks still on most of the plates available for customers to grab. All of these observations tell me that next time I should pursue takeout here.Regardless, the empanadas and pizzas were some of the best I have had anywhere in the Twin Cities and I would strongly recommend Boludo to anyone!

Love it. I'm in the neighborhood every couple months and always make it a point to stop in. Grabbing a couple beef empanadas is my go to, but the pizza has also been nice to eat in or takeaway.
