This was a fun spot to try when i was in town. The bread for the subs are very soft and delicious. I do wish that they would fill the subs with a bit more ingredients because it does feel like you are eating nothing but bread. The staff is friendly and it has a nice local vibe to the place. The cost is about where it should be as well. I would give it a try again when i visit.

A staple of St Joes. Great sandwiches and friendly student workers. Perfect spot for lunch or a quick dinner. Big portions and fresh breads.

Came in from St. Paul and was pleasantly shocked by the low prices given the size and deliciousness of our food. Any place with quality and prices like this deserves more business!

Bo Diddley's has been around since 1981 and they serve up some big hearty sandwiches. Located right by St. Ben's campus, Bo Diddley's is a small establishment that brings a lot of students and families alike. My boyfriend and I recently went there for lunch and there was a line to the door. Once we got to the counter, we ordered a roast beef sandwich, kettle chips, a gyro, and a side of mac & cheese. My boyfriend's roast beef sandwich stole the show. He loved it and I had a bite and wish I would have gotten one myself. Although it was filling and came with soft pita bread, I would not recommend the gyro. It doesn't taste the way an authentic gyro with sliced meat would taste. The meat was bland, nothing special. My side was rather sad and disappointing - Kraft mac & cheese straight from the box was not was I was expecting for my side. I was hoping for mac & cheese made in-house, but that is not what they give you here. I would not have purchased it had I known what I was going to get.As for the space, Bo Diddley's needs to do something with their dining room. Very drab. I understand it being small, but there's not much in there not to mention the bland colored walls. Nothing eye-catching to look at while we waited for our food and it was pretty silent, so it made the entire room just feel odd. Their space needs more love and character.Even though I could only give Bo Diddley's a "good" rating this time due to my overall experience and the roast beef being the only highlight of our lunch, I will be back to try more of their sandwiches! That roast beef is undeniably delicious, so I'm crossing my fingers there will be more great sandwich options on the menu.

Stopped by per a recommendation from my bartender at Bad Habit Brewery. I went with his recommendation of the 'Combo' & he did not lead me astray. I got the half (6") version of the sandwich (w/ the store recommended toppings), which was packed with meats, cheeses, and veggies. So substantial and satisfying! The meat and cheese seems to be quality. And the veggies were perfect deli veggies (super thinly sliced onions... 'nough said). The bread was also super good. I called in a pick-up order and it was ready in less than 15min.Overall, the sandwich reminded me of a good quality sub from Jersey/the east coast. Which is about the best compliment I can give it!

Great food. We were in town, stopped by to have the Full Roast Beef. We had them heat it as well. It was terrific and the bread is so fresh. DEFINITELY coming back.

I was just doing some exploring of this sweet little town my friend had mentioned this place that I was one of the best places in town and I wasn't really looking for anything specific so I was really excited when I actually walked and was like half a block away from this place. The sandwich was huge, it was very good I think it's almost too much bread but the soup and the sandwich at the spot and made me very happy. I love the decor of this place and the feel.

I hear BoDiddley's is under new ownership. It has been awhile since we were in college and ate there - the remodeled eating area, what happened to the charm and character? 2. I placed a large order (over $100 in sandwhiches) this week for pick-up today. When I was doing my initial inquiries, I was told because of my retired military status and that the large order was for a local non-profit, I would be eligible for 20% discount. When I ordered the food on Friday, I mentioned the discount I was told about this week - the lady I spoke to told me I was not supposed to be told I could get a discount. I picked up my large order on Saturday afternoon, the cashier was given direct instructions that I would not get any discount - none, 0%, Nada. I was shocked. I paid for the food but NOT to be given ANY consideration - what a disappointment! What the store doesn't know is when I arrived at my non-profit location - I spread the word loud, BoDiddley's does not honor its word. The decision makers at this event will likely remember that for a long time! Sad - Sad - whoever owns BoDiddley's obviously was asleep during their business class. I know that a discount is not required but a simple token of appreciation for a large order can go a long way! Will the owner respond to "review"? I doubt it ... but that's ok because the event I am covering next month will NOT include BoDiddley's.
