Black RoosterFrom day one I have seen how patience and determination have led to a very successful result in this small but very nice restaurant in Hudson, WI. It has been proven that with quality and perseverance you go very far while maintaining quality, service and innovation.The service mainly says a lot. Every time I am there, I feel welcomed by the waitresses who, upon recognizing us, give us very professional service.Chef Rick maintains the high quality of the dishes and innovates. My only suggestion is the small dessert menu, which knowing their expertise could be broader. I was surprised, I would say not a surprise, but I was expecting this new cocktail prepared by Nichole based on a Manhattan creation in her secret way. Excellent!Until next time!

Hudson has free parking on Sundays!All glasses of wine are $5 on Sundays (including sparkling).Kind of a dungeon vibe to this place.Our server, Leah, was very nice and on top of our order.Ricotta dumplings - good but more like cheese curds than dumplings.Bologna Sandwich - good but tomato was hard and no flavor.Sea Scallop special - scallops were excellent but the corn mix underneath was not very flavorful and the tomatoes were not very good.This could be 5 star with a little work on flavor. Dessert selection could be a little broader too.

Cool atmosphere. The restaurant is in a basement, so it has a recluse feel. The menu is small, which hopefully means they can really focus in on some great dishes. I loved my fried chicken salad. The chicken was fried very well, and had a satisfying crunch. I also liked my drink, and it was a recommendation from the server. The service was helpful. I was with a large group, and most loved their dish. The only negative was the fried walleye which was too "fishy".

Gallo Nero! Scallops with cilantro rice and curry was amazing! Great bartenders with a cool hip vibe! Highly recommend!

This was by far my favorite restaurant experience on my work trip to Hammond. There are two entrances - both downstairs in an office building. The dining area is quaint and charming. The service was friendly and quick. The drink menu looked creative and fun. But the food stole the show. The food was SO GOOD. The tartare is probably one of the best I have ever had - it is lemony and capery and melt in your mouth incredible. The duck breast was cooked to perfection with crispy skin and perfectly tender meat. I don't even like peas and the sauce was so good I ate most of them anyways. 10/10 will be back next trip. Bonus: My co-worker is keto and was able to find something delicious without much modification and left happy.

I'm not one to complain, but this simply pushed me over the edge. Do NOT order the New York strip steak. I've never had such a flat tasting steak with so much fat ever! Had them replace the steak to which the second round portion was much smaller, still fatty, and simple no flavor. I've purchased better steaks at Aldi or Festival foods which out shine the steaks here at a 1/3 of the price. Order the pork chop, chicken breast, or scallops instead as you won't be disappointed. Their old fashion and custom drinks were awesome.

Great curated menu and service! The menu is well crafted with choiceful fusion additions. The cocktails are worth a try.

Have been to Black Rooster Bistro twice and both times the food was excellent! High praise for the lamb- but everything was exceptional. Service top notch and we loved the desserts

Ordered a Bistro Burger to go. Prepared quickly. Got it home and devoured it. Delicious!! Then noticed the little hand written note inside the to go box. We did enjoy!!

We love this place! The food, service, value, all are great, never disappointed! Best thing in Hudson!
