Walking into this establishment, we were instantly enveloped by an atmosphere that felt like stepping into an old-school bar straight out of a classic movie. The warm, inviting ambiance, complete with rustic decor, set a nostalgic tone that promised a memorable evening. I was immediately drawn to their beer selection, showcasing a variety of local craft brews and timeless favorites. It felt like an adventure just choosing what to sip on!For my meal, I decided on the buffalo chicken wrap accompanied by waffle fries. The wrap was generously filled with perfectly spiced buffalo chicken, complemented by crisp lettuce and a tangy sauce that brought everything together. Each bite was a delightful mix of zest and comfort, while the fries were golden and seasoned to perfection.Our bartender, Britta, was the highlight of our experience. Her vibrant personality and attention to detail made her exceptional. She wasn't just pouring drinks; she was crafting experiences. Britta engaged us with her extensive knowledge of the menu, recommending perfect pairings and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Her enthusiasm was infectious, infusing the entire night with good energy.As the evening unfolded, it became clear that the place had a fantastic team. My husband and I have lived within minutes of Big Louie's for years, we just visited for the first time this weekend and can confidently say we will be back! We went around 5 on a Friday, hoping to catch happy hour which we were presently pleased to see went until 7 Mondays-Fridays. The parking lot was full, we got a spot but there were not many free. We were happy to have been seated within a minute, the bar and tables/booths being relatively full!The happy hour (which we could not find any details for prior) ended up being great! We ordered the spinach dip from the happy hour, pleased to see it was of good portion size, and still a great deal! We each got a beer, satisfied with the size and options for IPA's among other happy hour drink options. As we finished up the appetizer, we ordered our dinner. My husband, having seen it upon walking in and on their Facebook, ordered the special - brined chicken sandwich with mayo, coleslaw, pickles, red onion, and side of chips. I ordered potato skins (an app) as my main meal. The food came quickly, despite being busy. We felt our server checked in just enough, and was there when we needed a water refill or other things throughout the evening. Both our orders, the sandwich and the potatoes skins, were exactly (if not more) than we were hoping for! Large portions, fresh ingredients, and so tasty! We had some leftover to take home, equally tasty warmed up for a snack later on. With the fair prices, quick service, quality ingredients, and more - we will be returning!

This very much has a small town bar feel. When we went it was mostly regulars. They have an extensive happy hour and lots of beers on tap. The Patty melt and fries were good and the quality of a greasy spoon diner. The "boneless" chicken wings were a bit disappointing. They were basically chicken nuggets from a Tyson bag. The server was delightful but clearly the place was short staffed. It was a great spot to meet and catch up because the meal pace was a bit slower. I would recommend this for adults catching up .

Around 2:30 the bar was pretty full. All types of seating and the low tops were in a room behind the hostess stand. I was eating light and settled on a soup and salad. The wild rice soup was one of the best I had, everything evenly portioned with a delicious cream base in a generous crock. Basil enjoyed his huge fish dinner. The fries were the hottest and stayed hot throughout the meal. Great service. When we're in the neighborhood again this will be our spot. I like how the bathrooms are to the right as you walk in.

Good happy hour. However... The popcorn took a hit during Covid. I'm a firm believer that bar popcorn adds at least a star if not 2. Would like to see that back now that things are "back to normal." Will change to a 5 if/when it returns.

The staff, food and atmosphere were great. I will definitely be visiting again. The only downside to me was that the beer tap list was pretty short with no local micro brews other than Grain Belt and Nordeast I believe.

Drinks and food are great! But the pull tab lady was rude, had AirPods in while trying to talk to her... Won like $30 bucks and cashed out, she was offended by no tip and yelled Thanks very sarcasticly as I walked away?!? Did she expect a tip for being miserable to customers? Have had a few interactions with her that have been the same. Gotta find a new place I guess. Tipped the bartender over 20%, she was nice and friendly. 4/27/24
