Barbacoa American & Mexican Food

My wife and I were up to Alexandria on a Wednesday night and I asked her to swing off of 94 to go to Barbacoa in Albany. A quaint little town and the restaurant is right on Main Street.The servers work their arses off here and the owner was cooking n the back. I believe she said she was from El Salvador, and and she was super nice, when she wasn't running to and fro.I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a barbacoa street taco and 2 IPAs. They had a pretty good beer selection for a small Minnesota town. The food took awhile, but I think they only had 3 or 4 people working.The food was awesome! Super juicy pork and good coleslaw on top of the pork and the taco was top notch.The chips are free and hot and they went well with the wonderful salsa.Great place to stop at on the way to a Minnesota northern cabin.

It's a must stop if you're traveling to Fargo or the Twin Cities. The bar may have your favorite tequila so be warn because you may have to stay longer than expected.

Stopped in here on our way to Alexandria on a Friday evening. The BEST margaritas we've had in ages! Food was homemade, fresh and delicious. Locally owned, owner in the kitchen, authentic food.

This place is amazing! EVERYTHING is made from scratch (margarita, guacamole, chips....). I had the taco salad with tinga chicken, and it was 10/10 delicious. My mom had the burrito special, and my siblings had tacos . Our cocktails were top notch too, I had a manhattan, but the margarita that my mom ordered was the BEST. Lee, our server was super friendly and we got to meet Doris the owner. You can tell she puts a lot of pride into her work. I honestly wasn't expecting much from this small town place, but it totally blew me away.

I had the chimichanga with barbacoa brisket. It was excellent! The meat was slightly spicy and melt in your mouth tender.The server went out of her way to take our order because I'm in a wheelchair.There is wheelchair access but it is a little tight

The Brisket Burger was the special. Very good, juicy burger with tender brisket. Friendly service.

Great food a Hidden Gem best restaurant in the Albany area hands down! From Pizza to authentic Mexican Cuisine absolutely delicious. Quite the variety!
