We went there for Blue Grass and High 48. The band was fantastic. The food was great as well. Had the Shakshuka. It had nothing to do with Blue Grass but was a delightful Meditarian/North African dish. My partners had more traditional brunch dishes. All were great. The brunch, drinks, and service were excellent.Note this is a loud venue, so I would not recommend it for a date event since you cannot talk to each other. Enjoy the music and food, and smile across the table.

this is a great little restaurant and bar that in the summer has a great patio with amazing city views. they have a happy hour menu, which is nice. In the summer, it is definitely harder to get a seat outside as it is usually quite full, especially around happy hour. on my last visit, I sat inside and I had the biscuits and gravy and also tried the Shakshouka. Both were okay. The biscuits were very tasty, but the gravy had an interesting presentation and the taste was just alright. our server was attentive and friendly.also, one small detail, but something that as a bit of a neat freak definitely threw me off is that the tables have these somewhat large ridges and there is a lot of stuff in those ridges, like fallen food etc. It is a little bit unappetizing to look at when trying to eat.

We sat at the bar on a Wednesday night for happy hour & had a great experience. The restaurant had dim lighting which made the place seem so cozy. The bartender was very tentative & knowledgeable about the drinks & menu. We ordered the charcuterie as an appetizer. The serving size was good for about two people, maybe 3 if not super hungry. Perk about this place is that it's connected to the underground tunnel to the parking ramp so you don't have to freeze finding parking outside in the middle of winter. The Main Cinema is right next door so you can catch a movie before or after your visit! If wanting to use the parking ramp check out Aster's website, they have detailed instructions on how to park and find the tunnel- super helpful!

The ambiance is so cozy and warm, I loved every aspect of Aster from walking in. We weren't looking for a full meal so we shared the spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious! I also got the Bahama baby cocktail which I liked. It was sweet and strong. It's a great vibe and I'd love to come back and try more things.

This is my second time at Aster but my first time sitting inside. We stopped in before an event at the Main Cinema and this is such a great spot. It helped that it's connected to the cinema since it was so cold out. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and apps. I got the blueberry pie THC drink and it was soooo good. I believe it was from Dangerous Man. We also got the chips and queso which was more of a nacho cheese but so delicious with house made tortilla chips. Definitely spicier than I anticipated but not too spicy. My only critique is that it could come with more chips as we had plenty of queso leftover.

Decades ago I used to frequent Pracna on Main. It had close proximity to the Main Cinema and the St. Anthony Main shopping complex. Since I was visiting the cinema for an event, I stopped in for dinner at the old Pracna location. The Aster Cafe is very dark inside. Hard to read the menu. It wasn't very crowded but it was a very cold night. Parking is available in the ramp at 2nd St and 2nd Ave with an underground tunnel connecting to the restaurant and cinema.Service was friendly and quick. I tried the Apple, Bacon and Bleu Flatbread. It was good but I probably wouldn't order it again. Not very memorable. It has a pizza like crust which was good but minimal flavor. Food service was very quick but it was a slow night. If they had a bigger menu I would give it another try. Would have appreciated more hot sandwich options or other soups.

My friends and I went here for brunch last month on a Saturday morning and it was a great experience. We walked in and got a table immediately. We sat and put in our drink orders, an old fashioned and a pitcher of their awesome sangria. Both were great.I had the Brisket Grits, which were fantastic. The grits were great, the brisket was moist, and the poached eggs on top were such a great addition. It was unanimous in our group that we all really liked this place. I am definitely going back when I'm in the Minneapolis area again.

Aster Cafe's location and building/grounds are second to none. This is where you want to be on a nice summer evening. The food, however, is just average. I had the spicy chicken flatbread and it was tasty enough, but nothing special. I would recommend this place to grab a drink and some apps or something, but not for a nice dinner out.

Aster Cafe is a place in itself, they have a lively patio in the summer and host live music. My favorite drink is the The Mirage, its a mocktail with blackberries, citrus, and mint. It is $9 which is a little pricey for a zero proof drink but it is light and refreshing and something I will continue to order. I love the artichoke dip with the house made focaccia. It is the perfect app to share and is definitely enough for 2. The Truffle & Prosciutto flatbread can easily be shared or enjoyed by 1. It is crispy and is accompanied with plenty of cheese, cherry tomatoes, and arugala.
