Don't buy anything fresh there. I bought a loaf of bread. Came home. I was excited to have some bread and butter with my tea. I took a piece of bread out of the bag (it was precut) and there was mold in the middle. So, the bread was probably a week old (supposedly freshly baked in the oven).

Arkady's market is a pretty good European market. They have a very large selection of goods from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Germany. The store is an older store, next to a liquor store, not in the best neighborhood. It is a bit dirty and dingy, but the products looked fairly fresh, other than the meats and cheeses. The meats and cheeses were not presented well, and I would personally avoid them. We did buy soon Russian rye bread and some German wheat bread that was "baked only 3 hours ago." It was dry and stale, and I would guess it was at least a day old.

Great little grocery store that has been there for years. They have locally made frozen foods and a wide variety of food from Russia and Ukraine. They also have great fresh baked German bread!

For a Russian, Russian stores are either a hit or a miss. This one, unfortunately is a miss.Overpriced semi-good testing food for "gourmet" store prices. I got some kielbasa, and it was clearly there for several weeks, not fresh and tasted like rubber. I also got some grechka, which was $4.99. You can get regular americanized kasha at any store for $3.49. They do have some nice candy, but I am not sure how often they get shipments, and if its not fresh, its not worth is. They fish selection was very limited and they were out of several "basic" russian fish, i.e. seledka and baluchok. Service was ok, i.e. below an average american store but a little better then other russian stores. I have no idea how they treat americans, as we all know some stores in our area cater specifically to the russian community.Overall, its better then nothing, but I dont think I will be coming back there often, only when I am feeling particularly nostalgic for some seledka.

Terrible customer service. Not helpful, was busy restocking stuff until I told her I was in a hurry and needed to go. I spent about 10 minutes waiting at the register waiting for her. Very rude sales assistant.Anyway, when we walked out she kept yelling at me. Wow. Also, the store charges 3% if you use credit card. Unbelievable. The stuff I bought was poor quality, but the sales clerk did not replace it for me, she said that the container was already opened.

I drove 11 miles to come here and was so disappointed. For what it was, the store itself, it had some items I wanted to pick up. The problem, zero customer service! Zero! Not one single person "working" there acknowledged me or would even come to the cash register where I stood for over 5 minutes. I put my items back and left! Wasted drive, and time. They aren't the only euro deli in town, but they might be the only one that doesn't care about their customers.

Apparently during Covid the authentic German bread comes in only on Monday. That means it is often not available later in the week. Das ist schade.

If you like the experience of being yelled at, overpay and buy expired food this is the place to go!!Terrible experience. The salami is sold per pound and people want it sliced. Imagine 1/2 lb of 3 type of salami sliced! It will take 10 mins to get that done. Brace your patience and get ready for frowning faces by the owner. She was pissed that people wanted sliced salami and were making her work! The candy per pound we purchased had mold inside. The sunflower seeds were moist and not dry. The worst place in town!

There is a sign on the wall stating "We are not rude, we just don't speak English very well."That's not true - if you're not Russian, you will be served after any Russian in the store. The concept of greeting a customer in a friendly manner will not be found here, since a non-Russian customer seems to be an interruption. Yesterday I was the only customer in the store and as I approached the register I had the vague hope that I would be served. Nope - I had to wait while the two clerks spent time looking at photos on a phone. One did look up and noticed that I was standing there patiently, but went right back to the intriguing phone photos. On the other hand, their German bread is great and is the only reason I patronize this store.

I drive all the way from St Paul at least once a month because Arkady's has real German bread, delivered daily. There is plenty of great artisan bread in the TC, but I have not found anyone else who makes authentic Graubrot and/or Schwarzbrot, and each of them in several varieties. I buy enough to keep in the freezer so I don't have to make the long drive quite as often. Most of the other foods tend toward Russian, including excellent pierogies and meats. Beyond that I can't say much about the canned foods except that they seem expensive. But if you were looking for a source of Russian foods, here it is. I'll be there for that German bread.
