The price tags...not sure how we got to $20.15 from $13.78.

We were overcharged ($5.35) for two magnets I foolishly deemed prudent for purchase. From the tone of reviews, ours wasn't an isolated experience. Not the biggest of deals, but...our attitude and approach to the error was simply 'let's clear it up and be done, alright?' When reached by phone as evidenced in the screenshot below, the owner of this general store lied like most breathe air, stating that he'd refund the entirety of the purchase, or 'send us a check;' actions that have yet to occur and probably won't, if not for the billing dispute we filed with our bank. Our first and very last shopping experience at Appaloosa, this review remains for the wise.

We have frequented Appaloosa Ridge every summer for the last 20 years. This year I went in and purchased two sweatshirts and a T-shirt - well over $100. Brought an item back to exchange it and was told that was the wrong receipt. That was the only time I was there - the owner/.gentleman (he doesn't deserve that title) came out and was the most rude person I've dealt with. I was not accepting that was the incorrect receipt. He ended up throwing my my items back at me with the store filled with customers. I was so upset I would love for this review to go throughout the whole city of Nisswa.... I still have the items with the receipt in my closet - not worn. I made end up going back in and throwing them back at him while the store is full of customers.

Very overpriced store. The older lady with a short brown blunt haircut was EXTREMELY rude to my family and I. She got upset for us using our debit card to pay and threw our bags down at us once she was done ringing us up. She needs a good reminder on customer service.

If you want some traditional up north cabin décor and are willing to put up with mobs of sunburnt tourists this is the best of the shops in Nisswa. The prices are a little high but good luck trying to find stuff cheaper because many items are unique and almost impossible to find online or elsewhere. This is also the place I recommend if someone wants a piece of clothing to remember their trip to lake country, they have sweatshirts you might actually wear when you get home because they don't look like you bought it at a tacky souvenir shop.

I wish I could say not to shop at Appaloosa Ridge due to the horrifically rude service I've received every time while paying top dollar prices. This store has unique and quality items, maybe a bit over priced. Yet, we've enjoyed what we purchased beyond the time it took to pick out and to purchase them. So, just beware of the service and shop on your guard.

Cute stuff, but super mean owner. I guess they have a lot of theft there, which apparently gives you the right to treat everyone like a potential criminal. I'm just not used to shopping in "nice" stores and being treated so rudely. He took some of my daughter's shirts out while she was trying them on because they have an unlisted rule you can only have 3 things at a time in the dressing room (after the original sales person said it was fine). Hello - get a sign. And when I said we weren't told that, he sharply said, "I'm telling you now." Yikes! Next time I'll just take my $80 elsewhere.

Absolute WORST custumer service. The lady at the front (short butch hair cut) got so mad and upset that I had asked if they gave a military discount because she had to start the transaction over (she hadn't even started it), she started huffing and puffing, and throwing my stuff around, and as I walked out the door she started making rude and personal remarks to me because I had said Iv never experience such horrible rude service before especially from a small business that I am purchasing multiple pieces from. She should have been greatfull that I had contributed and bought something from her small business. Rather she was telling me that I'm the problem and she just doesn't care for me. It was totally unexceptable and she made a huge scene in from of everyone in the store it was so embarrassing. She should not have a job in customer service. Especially during the holidays.

Wonderful selection of lakes area/Minnesota apparel! Employee was very friendly and guided me to other colors in the styles I liked. The clothing is designed locally, store is open all year! Stop in, worth a visit.

Worst shopping experience ever , my friends and I walk into the store. The store itself is a nice homey feeling. However, the feeling was spoiled by the utter lack of customer service. The employees and the store owner (she looked like the store owner) were acting in an ill mannered, discourteous and crude fashion. Not to sound entitled but, I being the paying customer should feel comfortable and relaxed, and I was not treated as such. Instead, I was bombarded and was watched every step and move I took. My boyfriend was with me and asked the store owner a question and she looked at us and replied in such an unpleasant manner, then we asked to use the fitting room. It was stressed that only 3 items were allowed, which was fine. As I was standing in the fitting room to show my friends what I had got on, in the background a group of employees watched me in disgust and dismay. The store owner openly raised her voice to say "look in the room to see what's going in so we know what's coming out" in that moment I felt heartbroken and was on the brink of tears to feel like I was a thief was humiliating. I understand she's concerned, but to say that so loudly that everyone could hear was embarrassing. I finally got out of the dressing room and went to go checkout a sweater that cost me $50 (was worth it cause it was cute) and the store owner looked at me like she hated the site of me and didn't even wish me a good day or say anything after the transaction. The entire experience was mortifying and horrible and no one should ever be treated the way we were.
