This pertains to the cafe, not the catering business. Perhaps that could be spun of into its own review. With that said, I'm surprised the proprietor runs a successful catering operation considering what I was served on the morning of May 5. One of the first things I noticed was the lipstick stain on the coffee cup sitting on the table and that the water glass might double as an antique.I ordered an appetizer basket with onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and chive fries. I also ordered a cup of the homemade beef barley soup. The marinara sauce served with the mozzie sticks was ice cold. The ranch dressing for the onion rings was clearly the cheap, generic stuff out of a bottle. The beef barley soup had some nice cuts of celery that accompanied that primary ingredients, but all I could taste was salt. No need for the saltines that came with...The service was a little worse than desultory. No one checked back in after my food arrived except to drop the check. The high school girl checking me out didn't say thank you or anything after finishing the transaction. The $2.00 tip was $2 too much. Definitely do not recommend. This town sorely lacks decent eating spots. Someone who came in and put forth a minimal effort would likely be a huge success.

This is a cute quiet cafe in downtown Belle Plaine. Some antique style reproductions adorn the walls to add to the old fashioned theme. The menu is strictly all American from egg dishes to the lunch sandwiches, most served hot. There is a modern selection of wraps, mostly of chicken. I had the hot sandwich of Grilled Ham & Cheese, and coldn't help but overhear two other customers order the same. Great possibly fresh baked bread and a high quality of ham and cheese certainly make for a quick tasty lunch. They didn't make iced tea for the day which is almost a bummer but the coffee was fine and they do emphasize they have a bottemless cup. The few staff seemed busy in the back with their catering business as the older wood structure stretches back quite far. The cafe is very little with probably 12-15 tables. This is a nice home cooking place in the old town section and they have weekday specials.

A great little corner restaurant in small town America! If you like pancakes...WOW!!! Huge pancakes the size of a dinner plate, and an array of big omelets with hash browns & toast you'll be more than satisfied with! The service is wonderful, and we're always greeted with a smile. Coffee never ends, and I'm always asked if I want a to-go cup of coffee as our check is dropped off. We love Annie's, and can't get enough of the food, and service!

I wish there were more stars to award! Annie and her team really took care of us and we couldn't have been happier! My husband and I received Annie's name from a a co-worker of mine who had her wedding catered by Annie. My husband and I were struggling to find a caterer in the cites within our price range who also had good food for 115 guests. Well did we ever find it at Annie's.We called Annie and set up an appointment to drive out to Belle Plaine to try her food. We were expecting just tastings as we had experienced at other caterers. I'll say one thing, show up hungry because Annie is going to make sure you receive the full experience. She was so friendly, and her food was amazing that we decided to book with her right then and there. We choose Roast Beef, Roasted Chicken, Au Graten Potatoes, green beans, and a Fresh garden salad. The total? $14.95 per plate, just wow!Annie only required from us two tables for her to set up the buffet. She really went above and beyond to show us that she cared, even making the hour drive the night before the wedding to "pre-set up". Her team arrived at the wedding as scheduled set up and began serving. They were all extremely friendly to our guests and made everyone feel comfortable. As a final touch we asked as she was packing up if she could leave the coffee server behind so guests could continue to enjoy coffee through the night, and she did. Our guests raved about her food all night. We can not thank her enough for making our day special and providing such a wonderful meal for our guests.Thank-you Annie and Team for all of your hard work, professionalism, and cooking skills!
