Anchor North on Lake Alex

Stopped in after dropping our daughter off at camp. Looking for it made us wonder if we were rolling dice, but they lived up well! The atmosphere was awesome. The patio overlooking the like was such a treat. The service was attentive and helpful, exactly what you want when having a cocktail overlooking a sunset. Our food was overall very good! The prime rib was as good as you can expect anywhere. The walleye was fantastic! It was one of the best walleye's I've had in a long time. Stroganoff lived up well, a warm mushroom flavor with a steak on top. The only letdown was the halibut. Maybe a fluke but mine was overcooked, dry, and a bit over seasoned. Overall a very good experience. I'd rate it a 9/10 - but will round up to 5/5 stars here on yelp : )

We were here this evening. Party of 8.The food was sub standard as was the service. Two of my children had Mac and Cheese and it was really smokey, my kids could not eat it. I mean come on how hard is it to mess up kids Mac and cheese? We told the young server and he just stared at us. He did not know what to say, we suggested my one child get something else which he agreed to. My other child did not want anything after the bad Mac and cheese. We got chatged for one of the Mac and Cheeses when the bill came.My shrimp tacos were very bad. The tortillas were not warmed or toasted, just plain cold, out of the bag tortillas. They were the worst tacos I have ever had, even compared to ones I make at home. The other major complaint was the kids sides, my one Son chose fruit as a side and got a cup of dole fruit still in the plastic container served to him. Waters were not kept full and we had to keep asking for refills.This is not an inexpensive place, I don't mind paying above average prices for the lake setting but at least serve average food.I will not be back.
