Ammo's Evergreen Tavern

I've been coming to this area for years but never had visited Ammo's - we stopped recently with friends to grab a late lunch and some drinks. It's your standard "up north bar" with a long bar, a pool table and a video jukebox. (It appears that country is the genre of choice music wise). Food wise, they have a few sandwich choices, frozen pizzas and a cheese & cracker snack option. I opted for an Italian beef and honestly, it was super solid. Good bread, nice au jus and even hot giardinera. The boys split a pizza which looked pretty good. Expect standard drink offerings with a stiff pour. I wouldn't ask for anything crazy but they fo a fine job on the basics. Also worth noting - great bird feeders that were full on a chilly winter day. I love birds and whoever owns this place must as well. Popular with trail riders and snowmobiles. Solid sandwiches. Quality birdwatching.

This was such a fun stop on our Mother's Day trip! We loved the atmosphere and especially the bartender George! After a long trail hike it was great to sit down and have a Bloody Mary and a few beers with the locals. We were so impressed with how clean and tidy this Tavern was. Only drawback was that we lost our asses in pull tabs. We will definitely be back.

It's a good place to get a cold beer. The Italian beef sandwich is delicious. This is a great area bar on the Lake Namakagon area.
