Went to Minneapolis for a weekend trip and this was my favorite restaurant we went to! Everything we ordered was not only so delicious and flavorful, but also affordably priced. Our server was super sweet too- they don't sell Diet Coke, but she gave me her own can for free! They deserve way more patronage; I definitely hope to be back one day to try more of the menu.We ordered the following items:- Loroco Papusa (4.8/5)- Combinación Guanaca (4.8/5)- Birrica Papusa (4.3/5)

We enjoyed our dinner here. The space is brightly decorated with colorful murals. The staff is friendly, helpful, welcoming, and attentive. Our server cheerfully walked us through the menu and gave us recommendations. I ordered three pupusas, and my spouse ordered the traditional Salvadoran meal with plantains, tamales, refried beans, and a pupusa revuelta. All of the food was really good. The fresh pickled curtido nicely complemented the freshly fried pupusas. Our server kindly gave us an extra helping of curtido after we finished ours up. We also had Salvadoran horchata for the first time. It tasted a little nutty and creamier than horchata we've had at Mexican restaurants. I also had a pupusa with loroco, an edible flower with a fresh, snappy taste. I also had spinach and zucchini, but the loroco was my favorite. I also liked my spouse's pupusa revuelta. The only thing that might have made our visit a little nicer would have been another fresh vegetable option on the menu like a side salad. The bathrooms were clean and serviceable, but the doors and hardware could use a little TLC in the future. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

Delicious birria pupusas and chicken flautas. Nice and spacious restaurant. Lively music and fast service. There is also a large free parking lot out front which is really convenient given the location. Special thank you to Angelica our server!

Abi's is a cute Salvadoran spot tucked away in Uptown Minneapolis. I wasn't sure I was in the right spot when I got out of my Lyft, but as soon as I turned the corner, I easily spotted the entrance and was greeted by Abi's bright interior and friendly staff. I ordered the chicken flautas and a glass of jamaica and my friend opted for a pair of pupusas. My flautas were perfectly crispy and the chicken tender and flavorful. The toppings paired nicely and the salsa added a nice amount of spice. The jamaica was so refreshing, and my friend loved the pupusas. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. Overall, a very good experience.

Went on a whim tonight! SO GLAD we did. You can TASTE the love in every dish. Efficient service, a bit more than a hole in the wall: good restaurant space, lighting was a bit commercial but you're at a restaurant for the food not fancy light fixtures. Got the yuca frita appetizer, combinacion Guanaca, and birria tacos. The pupusas are FANTASTIC!!!! The flavor in every dish was just delightful. So so so so good. Will ABSOLUTELY be back!

Don't walk, run to this place!! This was my first time here and I am honestly shocked that I haven't heard about them sooner. After a long day of shopping, my girlfriend and I felt a burning sensation for pupusas and did a quick search on Yelp and after reading the reviews and looking at their menu, we chose Abi's. We had two servers, Marina and Victoria who worked hand in hand to provide a true hospitable flow of service to our table. They were prompt and even gave us an update on the status of our order(even though it was served quickly). I ordered chillaqules, pupusas and my gf got the quesabirria. All of which were evidently prepared fresh to order. I have had a myriad of pupusas from all around the metro, and with the highest confidence, I can say the ones I got here, were unmatched. It was packed with flavor, and I loved the red spicy salsa, coupled with the curtido(cabbage and picked veggie slaw). The chillaqules were scrumptious and the eggs that came with paired beautifully. It was worth every bite! The quesabirria that my gf ordered was so yummy and hot that I might've ate more than I should've from her plate, haha. The ambiance was nice and simple, clean and with a dash of bachata music in the background -- which makes for a very festive dining experience. One thing that will also keep me coming back is the private parking available to their customers, as opposed to the (impossible) street parking(which is quite the norm on this side of town). Overall a true 5-star experience and I would definitely keep them in mind when I'm feeling Mexican and Salvadorian food. Compliments to the chef, servers, Abi and the total staff. They're the real deal for sure!!!! P. S. - you will not be disappointed! So give them a try!

Our family ate here as an alternative to Thanksgiving this year. Abi was very welcoming and helped us pick some delicious food. We LOVED the pupusas! We had the queso con loroco - delcious! The horchata is homemade and is the perfect combination of slightly sweet and nutty. We also enjoyed the elote and guacamole. Yum! All of it! We used to eat at this location when it was The Egg and I. It is nice to see all the improvements made in the restaurant. It is clean and feels fresh and new with the beautiful Salvadoran art on the walls. We will be back. Thank you, Abi!

This is a definite NO! The restaurant is filthy, the food inedible, and the staff is like extras from The Sopranos. Rough looking, a little addled, and downright scary. There are a kajillion great restaurants in Minneapolis, this is not one of them.

What a great place! It is a very local, friendly Salvadoran restaurant with the best pupusas I've had in the cities. The service was quick and pleasant. We also had the chiliquiles and beans, and those were awesome as well. If you're looking for polish and shine, maybe it's not for you-but the decor doesn't matter when the food is so good!
