201 Tavern Beer Garden & Grill

This place gets really busy and crowded. A mixed crowd of younger and older people. We went with a nice size group for a party/bar crawl and it was a bit challenging to find space to hang or even to order drinks. The drinks were good, once we were able to reach the bar. They had a few signature drinks. I guess on the non bar side they have servers and eventually one came around taking drink orders which was nice. Overall a bit too busy for me.

Great burger joint with have cut fries, YUM! Large bar area with plenty of seating and a separate side where they have more seating and bands setup for live music. Service has been good nothing to complain about.

Stopped in on a Monday night to grab a burger and a beer. Bingo had been going on and it was fairly busy with and older crown playing. The space is fairly large with a big bar area to the left and a slightly elevated dining area to the right. Even with the bingo there was a couple seats at the bar available and a number of dining tables. Service was just okay. Bartender was friendly but it took a while to be greeted, put my food order in, and order another beer. Ordered the "Tavern Burger" with bacon, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce & a hand battered onion ring. I also added jalapeños which came sliced in strips, not rings, which I enjoyed. The burger itself, though, was just slightly above average and not something I would go out of my way for again.

We were in the area so we decided to stop by and have lunch. It was seat yourself and it took a few minutes for someone to come by and drop off menus. My husband ordered a local beer and I ordered water. We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer. My husband ordered a burger as a wrap with a side of green beans. I ordered the steak salad with light blue cheese. My husband's beer was good but the water had a very chlorine type taste. I exchanged it for a Diet Coke which was fine. The cheese curds were good. They would have been great with the horseradish dressing from the steak salad. I loved that dressing. I had my husband try it and he also liked it. All our special requests were taken care of. We were here early Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very crowded. It wasn't a really quick meal but we weren't in a hurry.

I have always loved this place! I always thought they had the best burgers in town, I have not eaten here since covid and I don't know if I would say the best burgers ever anymore. Actually no I would not, they are good, but just that now. Maybe my taste buds have improved or they have gone down hill.?.?.? I had a bacon cheeseburger and side salad and would rate it a 3 out of a 7, my date had mushroom swiss and he said a 2 1/2 out of a 7. My cousin had the club melt on grain bread and she said 5 out of 7. I will say there home cut fries are very good, service is a ........fair. we sat outside which was great and we had a group of 6 at 7:00 on a Tuesday but there was not many people there but I think only the 1 waitress so very slow service. I will go back again but not too soon as they have been replaced with other favorite places since covid. I say this with sadness. This used to be my go to for my birthday....... not anymore.

Food, ordered the double burger and fries. Good. Prompt service and bar ambiance.Not a bad joint in my humble opinion.You can bring in a kid and it will be fine. Looks like you can get a hard drink or beer.

I visited 201 on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. A Vikings game just happened to be on, so it was very entertaining to watch (it was against the Packers!). It shocked me how few people were in the bar at this time, because it's usually packed but it was lucky for us as we got really good seats. We visited just to grab some food but because of the Vikings game, they gave us tickets that were drawn after ever touchdown and quarter. They also have out free shots to everyone after every touchdown which I thought was so nice. They were purple too, it was awesome. I ordered the Caesar wrap and it was really good!! I'd definitely get it again.

Fantastic pizza and great apps. Loved the beer selection. The service was incredible and quick with a huge crowd, the servers really worked together and even though they were swamped they came with food and drinks in a very timely manner. The interior was very nice. My first time and I'll be back!

I don't care to much about this place. I already had to go in one day after my partner was in the day before there drinking I had to make it clear to the young bartender that served my partner knowing he can't hold his liquor. He was in there for 1 hr and and alone she served him 5 double rum and cokes in 1 hour. I was not happy that I had to come and get him cause he almost got hit by a car crossing ferry and main. Stopping traffic thank goodness the Anoka police come to help me get him home I looked at his ticket and took it back the next day and showed what she did and was not going to happen again or I would have there liquor license pulled and shut the place down. So she never served him again. So the place needs to know the laws about how much a person can consume in a hour. Must be trained in pouring drinks and how . So I was not happy when that bar opened up it's a accident waiting to happen....
