This is a gorgeous traditional Cantonese dim sum restaurant! The decor is so modern and pays homage to Chinese culture. The restaurant is huge, with plenty of seating. The menu is extensive, with both dim sum and traditional Cantonese dishes. You order on an iPad and the servers will bring your food as it's ready. The prices are a bit more pensive than usual dim sum, but their portions are big. The curry cuttlefish was outstanding (tastes exactly like HK curry fish balls), and the duck stir fried udon was delicious. Overall, such a yummy restaurant with beautiful decor!

My experiences have been generally positive. The interior is charming, with actual drums serving as seats in the waiting area--a big hit with kids. The food is usually quite good, though there have been some fluctuations in quality over the times I've visited. One thing to note is that if you're allergic to pork, it's important to inquire about ingredients, as some of their shrimp-filled items contain pork mixed into the filling--a detail worth being cautious about.A standout dish for me has been the salt and pepper fish, which is consistently delicious. While the overall quality of the food may vary slightly, the staff is always helpful and accommodating. While it may not quite reach the level of dim sum found in Chinatown or crack my top three favorites, it's certainly a convenient option, especially for those who prefer to avoid the downtown hustle. Overall, it's a solid choice, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Great selection of dim sum and main dishes. Most of the dishes were decent. The duck dish we got was mostly bones. We definitely got a very skinny duck with not meat which was disappointing . Service was decent. Servers were nice but did forget a few dishes we ordered in the middle of the meal. Place is pretty big with lots of seating.

I've been to MingHin twice now for Dim Sum and had myself try several dishes. This trip I tried several things new to me. The lotus buns and steamed chicken with dried scallops buns were excellent. I was disappointed by the shrimp crepe. The huge shrimp seemed overcooked. I might like a different filling. The pork feet in ginger and vinegar was okay, I liked the pork but not the eggs. Potstickers are very good. My husband's beef with snow peas was really good. The service was great and they got my husband's order correct, since he can't eat onions or green onions. I like the decor, but I was concerned about the decorative drums blocking the one entrance door. The staff made me feel at ease and kept checking to see if I needed more tea. Their jasmine tea is excellent.

We came here for a group dinner to celebrate a visit from some out of town extended family. It was a headcount of 28 meaning a 3 table reservation on a very busy Saturday night here. With a week's notice, there really aren't a lot of choices for staying out in the NW suburbs and hosting a big group for authentic Chinese. But MingHin worked and they got the job done for us. Our outing was in the ok category. We pre-ordered a customized menu, and a thank you to manager Jeff who helped us with this. Dishes like the stir-fried lobster, ribeye steak with mixed mushrooms, string beans with minced pork, salt-and-pepper shrimp with no shells, Mandarin pork chops, and steamed large mouth bass were very good. Dishes like the Chinese whole fried chicken and Peking duck were a little dry, looked slightly undersized, and could have been better. The Peking duck buns were warm and delectable though and the grand-darlings would have eaten them all if we let them lol. The udon noodles with shredded duck meat was a bit salty. The seafood and tofu soup was ok. We requested a big bowl of white rice but should have done so at the get-go instead of after the halfway point. Service was adequate but pretty impersonal with rotating servers. It was busy for everyone but also quite a fun and festive atmosphere. We all had a good time catching up and were never rushed. Overall, I'll go with 3.49 stars rounded down to 3 for this outing.

MingHin is my go-to dim sum place in the suburbs! They always have such a wide selection of food, fast service, and beautiful ambiance. We decided to go here to celebrate my birthday, and we left feeling quite content. To order food, they provide you with both a tablet/iPad and the traditional paper format which I thought was very accommodating and considerate. We ordered the Siu Mai, Shrimp Dumplings, Combination Lo Mein, Roast Pork Belly, Custard Buns, and Mango Pudding. All the entree items were exceptional as expected. However, we were especially excited for the Roast Pork Belly, but were a little disappointed this time around. The cook on the pork was very pink and concerning, the skin was tough and not crispy, and we thought the sugar on the side was a strange pairing. Regardless, I wanted to highlight the mango pudding on the menu since it's a favorite of mine! Taking the first bite felt like a nostalgic flashback to my childhood. It was refreshing, creamy, and in the shape of a heart! Overall, we left feeling very full and satisfied. I'd highly recommend coming here if you get the chance! (pro tip: less is more when it comes to dim sum)

Recently we had been to MingHin twice, one for dim Sum with a couple friends from out of town, another one for a dinner to celebrate a birthday of one of my brothers-in-law. We enjoyed both experiences, and this review focused on the delightful birthday dinner. Our party of 11 had the following dishes to share:Whole Peking DuckLarge Shrimp Fruit SaladChicken, Chinese Yam, Conch SoupCrispy ChickenSweet and Sour PorkDouble Whole Lobsters E-Fu NoodleWalnut ShrimpDungeness Crab with Ginger and Scallions x 2Steamed Big Mouth Bass x 2Pea Tip with Crab MeatLotus Leaf RiceComplimentary desserts: Red Bean Pudding, Coconut Pudding, Mini Plum Baos Some of the dishes were not on the menu, and they were pre-ordered banquet size and style. All the food was very well prepared, hot and very flavorful. Many times the crispy chicken tends to be dry, but not this time, the chicken was tender and fresh, and the skin was crispy. The two Big Mouth Bass were steamed just right and very smooth. Not pictured was the soup, that was the first time that I had it at this restaurant. It was a slow cooked soup and was very good. Service was friendly and attentive. But just like most Chinese restaurant, the serving team always seems a little harried. However, they were still very accommodating. The restaurant is always bright and clean. There are 2 tables at this MingHin that can barely accommodate 13 people. This time we had 11 people in our party, so it was just fine. We always think that their chairs might be a bit too big and bulky for the big tables over 10 people. Of course, if you do not have more than 10 people a table, those chairs are fine. These 2 tables are in a section of all large tables that comfortably sit up to 8 people each.

Interior was cheerfully decorated for lunar new year. The dumplings were pretty good. However, we were seated pretty close to the kitchen and were blasted with strong cleaning chemical smell every few minutes, which overwhelmed the smell of our food. We ordered beef and noodles for our main dish, mostly for kids and it was in fact beef tendon and noodles. Which is fine, but we would not have ordered it if the menu had specified that it was tendon. We were largely ignored after ordering, so we sat with tendon noodles we didn't like and an empty teapot. We would have ordered more of the items that we did like.

Ordered a whole ginger and scallion chicken (薑蔥霸王雞), which is supposed to be freshly steamed then served cold, but was served a not-so-fresh, obviously overcooked specimen with a nauseous odor cultured by its stint in the microwave after an overnight stay in the refrigerator.
