ZoGo's Sports Grill & Video Gaming

A home town staple in Zion, IL. I cannot think of one time I was not satisfied when visiting this restaurant. Upon approaching the facility it is clean of any trash or hazards. While walking in I see they decorated the entry for Halloween. Then upon entering the restaurant we were greeted and advised to sit where we wish. We took the long way around due to the floor currently being mopped. The facility design is open with booths to the right and along the back wall and tables in the middle. To the left is a bar and an area for gambling. Our server Noel was in top of everything we asked for water, napkins. We ordered the pretzel rods with beer cheese to start. Hot, crunchy outside and soft on the inside. Very tasty. Followed up with bbq bone-in chicken wings, chicken straps with fries and coleslaw and potato bacon soup (not much potato or bacon in the soup) on the side and the California Chicken sandwich with homemade chips. The sandwich has bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, swiss cheese and honey mustard sauce. I haven't had this sandwich prior, a bit messy, but delicious! Would certainly get it again.

I loved my recent two visits at Zogos! The staff was so nice and friendly . Patient to as me and my groups were catching up and very chatty! I loved my fish special and the homemade fries. My breakfast the next day was very good half order of biscuits and one egg small up charge. It's a family style resturant You can do gaming there slots if you'd like I will go again and get a cali or omelet

I went for lunch and there were 2 other tables and me. The 2 tables were already there, when I was seated. I asked for iced tea and the waitress had to make it. I placed my order of the American Sliders. After a half an hour, the other 2 tables food was brought out. Now, 40 minutes later, my order arrived. I took a bite of the burger and it was raw! I told the waitress and she said that she will have it re-fired. She went back into the kitchen and the cook came out and sat down at a booth with a guy that I am assuming is the new owner for around 5 minutes. He then went back into the kitchen to make my order? I only get 1 hour for lunch, mind you. I left $4 on the table and walked out. Someone that can't respect my time will not get my business. It also smelled like the overhead hood vent above the grill was not on. The place smelled like cooked oil and had a haze inside.

The low score is due to the false advertising. We are new to the area and have been driving by. We noticed the sign that said BISCUITS AND GRAVY WITH EGGS $3.99. So I brought my family of 4 to the restaurant. Only one person in our group was going to have the special and everyone else would have been ordering off the menu. Sadly, when we tried to order the special the waitress informed us that is was only during certain hours M-F. I am not mad because it has special hours. I am mad because the BIG sign out front doesn't say that. There is plenty of room on the sign to give details. FIX YOUR SIGN! I really wanted to leave and go to another place but we stayed because we really liked our waitress. You may have gotten one meal out of us but we won't be going back until they fix the sign. We could have been repeat customers.

Zogo's is one of my favorite GoTo spots for breakfast, lunch or supper. There is a wide variety of dishes to select from such as Beef sandwiches, burgers,homemade potato chips, or shrimp dinner.The friendly staff make the visit fun. You can eat-in or takeout.

Called ahead on Mon, July 5th (July 4th observed) and confirmed that they were going to be open until 8 p.m. Stopped in for a late lunch after a visit to Illinois Beach State Park. Got the fish tacos ($9.99 - came with our choice of fries, and our server invited us to tag on a soup as part of it) and the pulled pork sliders (choice of onion straws, $8.99). Food tasted great and was large in portions (for our late meal on a hot day, we could have done with just meal and three cold drinks). Though they were short staff on a holiday and plenty of customers were coming in for a late lunch/early dinner, the one staff person we saw ably served customers and took care of phone orders.

This place was awful as it is more of a small Diner restaurant in the bar. This is another business that emphasize gambling and the food here is utterly reprehensible and stale. The bartender also disappeared back in the kitchen perhaps outside smoking and there was like Harley anyone actually serving the bar this place is more of a ham and egg or restaurant than an actual sports bar like they proclaim

***UPDATE*** I changed my review from 1 star to 4 stars... I gave them a chance to make right on my issue and they came through...free replacement order at a later date... It would've been 5 stars had there not been an issue to begin with... Plus they forgot to give each of us our pickle. I've been here at least a half dozen times and normally the food is pretty good... This time it was terrible!!! 1/2 pound burger should at least fit the bun and normally it does if not more than... As you can see in the pictures it was a case of "where's the beef"?... Plus medium and medium rare should not be well done!!! Could you at least center the patty before cutting??? What cook looks at this and says yeah that's how you do it!!! Just a terrible way to waste $50!!!

The food and presentation at breakfast is great. They also have great roast beef sandwiches. The servers are friendly and very good. It's also usually quiet and calm for breakfast. Just right.

I used to go to Zogos a few times a week. Michelle & Cassandra always gave good service.About 2 years ago there started to be what seemed a new cook and servers every few weeks and the food and service was hit or miss.The last year and a half the service has been not so great so i'd stop going for a while then say I'll go to Zogos and see how things are now.I was just there Oct 15. The blond lady with the glasses sat me asked what I wanted to drink then walked away.Here comes the other server, darker hair with glasses and took my order.She brought my soup which was barely lukewarm and then my entree. She left the restaurant about 15 minutes later. I couldn't finish my meal and I wanted a refill on my soda.I sat there over 40 minutes while the blond and the other server walked around me serving everyone else but looked right at me.I even motioned for them but was completely ignored . I just left my money and the rest of my food on the table and left.Let me add that blond lady was talking to some people that were sitting at the big round table upfront pretty much the whole time insat there trying to get someone's attention for a box and the check. She actually did come outside and asked me if the other girl gave me my check.That was it I will never ever go back to Zogos again.
