Popped into Zaffiro's before seeing a movie with some girlfriends. I'd say the overall vibe and experience was alright. It was basically empty so not much atmosphere, and the service was relatively slow.I'm a fan of thin crust pizza, and here they've got the thinnest around (in a good way). I enjoyed it and how crispy it was. We opted to share a large EBF, which had plenty of cheese, sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers, anchovies, peps, and black olives. The large is 14" and though it was enough for us quantity wise, I feel like the $29 price tag is much too high. We paired the pizza with a salad to split as well. It was an apple cranberry mix with spinach and a tasty dressing. It was good, but nothing to write home about. We left full and in the knick of time to make it to our movie at the theater attached to the restaurant. I'd come back here for the same scenario - a quick bite ahead of a movie - but probably wouldn't jump to otherwise return.

A friend and I ate at Zaffiro's (which is not related to the one on Milwaukee's east side, except for the name) during the evening of 3/2/24. I haven't been there in a while. The place has lost whatever ambience it had. The bar got moved to the side at some point and they have a giant screen on one wall. As a result, you are bombarded by the images on the screen. It's very distracting.I ordered the small, gluten free pizza. My friend ordered a wrap that had bacon, fried chicken, and ranch dressing, along with sweet potato fries. My friend said her wrap was excellent, but the fries were so cooked that they were just crunch, no chewiness at all. I had ordered mushrooms and sausage on my pizza. It was a treat to have something with cheese on it, since salty foods are my nemesis. Unfortunately, the sausage was so salty that it dominated. The mushrooms were tiny little bits - not slices. The pizza wasn't cooked enough - the cheese had no brown on it at all. The crust was soggy except at the edges. The toppings kept sliding off, making it difficult to eat. I think I ate about half of it.Our server was very nice and upbeat, which is why I gave two stars instead of one. I didn't tell her that my food sucked because I didn't want to hang around for them to remake it. I won't be going back anytime soon.

We went here before a movie. Got there like an hour and a half before movies started. Myself, boyfriend, and 2 kids. Server was nice and friendly but everything took FOREVER. 2 kids meals and 2 burgers. And we didn't get our food until maybe 30 minutes before the movie. It wasn't busy and other tables that sat down after us got their food before us. I could understand pizzas taking a little longer but we literally had kids meals and burgers.... Andddd when we got our food, our burgers we charred to a crisp. Not great. If you're going to a movie, I would recommend eating at home or another restaurant nearby instead. A positive note, the kids looooved the giant tv screen in the restaurant so they could watch sports as we waited, thank goodness for distractions

Well, where to begin?I'll start with my now-standard, regrettable need to address the now-standard, regrettable trend toward damn TV screens wherever we go. (I can hear it now: "People" WANT that!" Really? If so, "people" are idiots.) People, I'm talking to you now: Say something. Tell establishments, as I do, that if we want to watch TV, we can do that at home. "Getting out" and "getting away from it all" for a while does not mean seeing TV screens everywhere. How lazy all those restaurant owners are. And cowards. Spend a few minutes thinking about having a pleasant decor, rather than running a place that looks just like every other one. Anybody ever hear of the novel, "1984"? Its author, George Orwell? Those g.d. screens, everywhere, are flat-out [pun intended] ORWELLIAN. And Zaffiro's Mequon not only has them everywhere, but, as another reviewer noted, there's a GIGANTIC one dominating the main space. Sports? Really? Hell, I watch baseball and basketball occasionally, and I sort of care how the Brewers do. But, as they say, everything in moderation. Zaffiro's owners (and all other restaurant owners), set aside a portion of your place for those who simply can't live without seeing millionaires play meaningless games can get their fill . . . but leave the rest of the place unpolluted.Having no other or better plans for dinner, before my movie, I chose to say; luckily, they agreed to seat me at a table/booth where I could sit facing the wall. A blank, boring wall -- but infinitely better than having to see the idiocies in every other direction. (In my pathetic, lonely "boredom", I was able to hear other diners' interesting conversation. A table of fellow diners was delighted when I walked up and commented on something they'd been discussing.) So maybe, guys, we could ditch those g.d. screens, and return restaurants to something like the bar in "Cheers". You know, a place where people can talk, and be heard, and not in competition with g.d. screens and meaningless games played by millionaires who really don't give a crap about this community.* * * *Now, on to my meal:Mequon just ain't the same as Zaffiro's on Farwell. I was surprised, and initially pleased, to see that the side/dinner salad was somewhat larger than that on Farwell, but my pleasure dissipated when I learned that the "Italian" dressing is not of the oil and vinegar variety (as it is on Farwell). I stuck with the "Italian" that I was brought, after the server -- who seemed completely baffled by the concept of an oil and vinegar Italian dressing -- told me that another one, with oil in it, was only SLIGHTLY less thick and creamy than the "Italian" I'd been served. Well, so, how was that dressing? It was unappealing; it tasted like a blend of Caesar (which at first I thought it looked like) and Thousand Island. No more than 90 seconds after I began eating the salad, the pizza arrived. I'm sure I'm not the only person who eats a salad BEFORE eating the next course -- be it a mere pizza, or any other kind of entree. I do not, and never have, eaten a salad at the same time as a pizza -- and will never want to. I made that clear to the server (a young lady identified only as "R" on the bill); she offered to take the pie away and keep it warm. I told her to take it away and bring me a FRESH one at the appropriate time (10 minutes later). "I can't do that", she said. "This was your screwup", I said. As she was starting to object that, no it wasn't, I pointed out the obvious: "This is not the way you time a table". (I've not only been a customer for many years, just like you who are reading this; I also was a waiter in several restaurants, including a wonderful family-owned Italian place. I am very generous when I received good service, but brutal when I see the opposite. See further below.)Note: The place was almost empty at the time (6:30 pm on a Monday. (The 8:20 screening of "A Quiet Place - Day One" was almost empty as well.) If "R" really doesn't grasp how to pace the delivery of courses to her tables -- and/or if that location's management hasn't properly trained her how to do so -- then she, and/or they, need to get a clue. This goes for a mere pizza joint just as it does for "fine dining".The pizza? Not bad, but not as good as Farwell. But there's more: My large, empty salad plate sat, very conspicuously, off to the side, where a reasonably alert and competent server couldn't miss it, and would clear it. In three visits to my table, it was invisible to "R". The same was then true for my empty plate and pizza pan."R" delivered my bill, and I asked if I pay her. "Oh yes, sorry," she said, as I reached for my wallet . . . but she didn't wait for me to pay her. Instead, she ghosted me. After a long wait, with still no "R" seen, I paid my $23.40 tab with $23.50, and left (but, on the way out, exchanged a friendly "good evening" with my new friends at the nearby other table).

First, let me say our waitress Melanie was fantastic. She was attentive, engaging, and happy (which can be a difficult find in the service industry now). However, my salad had a little too much dressing, and my friend's pizza had toppings that could have been a little more evenly distributed. My husband ordered the crispy chicken ranch sandwich, and he did say it was served hot and very good. We decided to eat here before a 6:15 movie, and there was plenty of seating available. This restaurant is a nice space with pretty bar, and it is nice to have the option of taking a cocktail with you into your movie.

I'm sad to post on Christmas but this is my 3rd strike and I hope the Marcus family can get it together. Stick with the pizza but even that is hit or miss. We had the chicken parmigiana with pasta and that was certainly out of a box. No arguing here folks but that doesn't fly when you're dining out. Wife ordered meatball sandwich and came back later with sorry we're out. She has a chicken Caesar salad which wasn't much better. Kids order med mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders straight out of a box. I'll be back for the movies but certainly not the food.

I love pizza! I was in town last week for a few days and had Zaffiro's suggested to me. I loved it so much I went back the next night. The crust is outstanding. If this pizza was available in Savannah, GA, I would eat it often. Thanks

First time disappointed in over several years. The smash burgers were not smashed thin and crispy as before. The waitress had food in the corner of her mouth. The fries were barely fried. Unfortunately we raved about how good our last experiences were with friends, brought them along and were embarrassed. The delivery of food was too slow to even complain. No more referrals from me. Sorry.
