Great family run restaurant with fresh food and excellent service. Really nice people! The fajita wrap was delicious with flavorful chicken and fresh vegetables. So good and plenty of food. They had great live music playing in the back while I was there.

Went here for dinner with a group totaling 6. I had the new york steak special - it had great flavor, was covered in onions and mushrooms, had baked potato with butter and sour cream and a side of broccoli for $20. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A couple people had the fish fry - 3 very nice large sized pieces of cod and it came with salad or soup. I tried the fish and it was very good. Another had steak fajitas and it was apparently excellent and came with all the usual fixings including rice and beans and the steak was cooked with large amounts of green and red peppers and onions. The hot chocolate was apparently great. For dessert i had an excellent piece of chocolate cake. And another ordered Beignets which were served warm and came with something i believe was warm hot fudge. They were passed around the table and were fabulous. The mixed drinks were apparently disappointing but overall a very good place to eat with a large selection on the menu including breakfast all day as well as lunch and dinner options. I have had the breakfast here previously and can say it was excellent. The biggest surprise was that on a Friday night there were open tables and it wasn't swamped. Usually friday night fish fry places (pretty much every restaurant in Wisconsin serves friday fish fry) are swamped and you often wait for a table. We were brought right to a table with no wait. I am sorry - meant to take pictures but I forgot. I will go back so pictures next time. Try it - I think you will love it.

My fiance and I stopped here on a whim because we were in the area, it was dinner time and we were hungry. We walked in and we were immediately greeted and seated shortly there after. The waitress was friendly and brought over waters while we looked at the drink menu for anything we'd be interested in. The only unfortunate thing I can say about the drinks is that I had to pick 2 or 3 different ones because they were out of what they needed to make the ones I orignally wanted. We got our drinks and ordered our food. The food came out within a reasonable amount of time and the serving size was PERFECT. We left feeling satisfied and finished our plates with no left overs. We wil definitely be stopping in again next time we are in the area.

Visited this restaurant last night after not having been there in several months. The food was excellent as always. Cheese steak sandwich was perfect and Yemas burger also perfect. Service is always attentive. My only complaint is that they do not state on the menu that there is a 3% fee to pay for your meal with a debt or credit card. They seem to only want cash. I realize they pay a fee to use the service, but it should be stated on the menu. I do not carry cash anymore, as cards are safer. In this day and time, I do not feel I should be penalized for being cautious. The restaurant was not at all busy and I wonder if they are making a mistake. I will go back, but it will not be my first choice for a sandwich anymore.

My buddy wanted go out for breakfast but he likes to stay close to home so I say let's try a new place in Elm Grove and to my surprise he said ok. The place is hard to find because it's behind Sendik's and he couldn't find it so I had to have him follow me over. It's in a generic looking building and easy to miss. This spot has been a few different restaurants over the years and I have been to them but this latest version is the best so far because it is a bar/restaurant that is not bad looking. The place was busy at 9:30 am with people coming and going which was a good sign. I started with a Bloody Mary which was sweet but ok. The breakfast menu is not super huge but it has all the regulars so I ordered the meat lovers omelette that comes with toast and ha browns. I had my hash browns with onions that was good. My sourdough toast was one slice only and average so no artisan bakery bread. My meat lovers omelette was good with melty cheese on the inside, the whole breakfast was hot to the table which I appreciate always.Overall it's a nice spot to have breakfast with friends and have a conversation because it's not loud and it's casual. This is the best restaurant so far in this location in recent years I will say.

Stopped in on a bike ride on a Saturday morning nearly 8 AM. They open at 7 AM but we were the only ones there. Poached eggs were cooked to perfection and piping hot. Whole-grain toast was just OK. Perhaps it doesn't move much. Unsure if it was over toasted or left sitting after toasted but it was a little dry. Pancakes were OK but kind of easily broke apart. I was told the coffee was Hawaiian. A little week for my liking but I'm kind of a coffee snob. All in all it was OK

My sister and I stopped here for brunch/lunch this past Sunday. Sis was very pleased with her gyro omelet and pineapple mimosa, and I was equally pleased with my chicken panini and cup of soup. My panini had a side of marinara sauce - not tomato soup like for grilled cheese, but marinara sauce - for dipping and it was genius. I've never seen that done before but why not?! Delicious. If I had one tiny gripe, it was drizzling balsamic glaze on the outside of the sandwich instead of within it. It made my fingers unnecessarily messy. Otherwise, this is a great place to get a satisfying meal before 3 pm.

On Sunday, October 29th 2023, my husband and I decided to go to Yemas for breakfast, to use a gift card given to us last year for our wedding. Upon arrival, we noticed it was not too busy. Several tables were open. The hostess proceeded to sit us at a table located in a dark corner of the restaurant. We politely asked if we could be seated somewhere else. The hostess said that was the only table we could sit at because the servers were on a "rotation" with certain tables assigned. For people that are not familiar with the restaurant business, this may not make any sense. This is the first time I go to a restaurant where, if we request a different table, and there are tables available, we are told no. It would be understandable if the place was totally packed and the only table available was that one. However, that was not the case. My husband insisted with the hostess. She got someone else to talk to us who I think may have been a manager. This person stated the same thing. Then I noticed there was a group of 4 people getting ready to leave. I asked, "can we have their table? They are leaving and they were served." She sighed, then said that if we wanted that table, we would need to wait for it to be cleaned (we had no problem with that). She also made it very clear that "we will accommodate you this time, but we won't do that again." With that attitude, I don't know that I want to go back, but I digress... they walked away and as we waited, from where we were standing, I could see the woman we just talked to in what I assume is an area near the kitchen, talking to other employees and complaining about what just happened. It was obvious by the gestures and body language. They finally cleared the table and we sat.Our server, Stacy, was very pleasant and food came out fast. It was very good, no complains there. The experience after we were seated was much more pleasant. We are not problematic costumers that throw tantrums. We just want to have a comfortable experience at a place where we are going to spend money for a meal. Our expectation was not unreasonable at all but the way we were treated was not the most professional by a business in "hospitality". The location is convenient as it is close to home; we also do a lot of interacting with Sunset Playhouse across the street as patrons and also work there on occasion, on and off stage. We know the location of this restaurant has gone through several reincarnations, as food businesses don't seem to last long in that space. This one has been there for a while and it would be nice to see them succeed. So an improvement in the way they treat costumers would certainly go a long way.

Nice menu with lots of options , enjoyed a Friday fish option and my friends choice was a veggie type salad. Alcohol is available but we both had lemonade. We got a window table and service has to improved significantly over the past 6 months. I have been here several times for lunch or late morning breakfast and have watch this family style neighborhood restaurant grow and become a great local dining place with plenty of parking near the Sunset Theater. It also now has outdoor dining which I'm anxious to try. I do recommend this to friends all the time and no one has voiced a complaint.
