Not sure whether I should post here to or not... but it is the same location. I believe they have recently changed their name to dumpling house. Or maybe they have recently changed from dumpling house to Yamato sushi house. I'm not sure which. Their sign out front says dumpling house and their menu still says Yamato sushi house. Identity crisis, no?We went in thinking this was dumpling house so we ordered dumplings. I was craving some soup, dumplings, and shrimp hao gaos. At around 13 bucks each, they were quite good. And just because I don't quite feel full with having just dumplings for dinner, we also ordered their fried rice noodles. The pictures really don't do justice for this amazing dish. They don't have fried rice on their menu, but this noodle dish tasted just like fried rice And smelled like it too. Hubby and I were really pleasantly surprised. We added a chicken to the dish, but if coming back, I will stay with just a noodles without adding protein. Our server who was Chinese, spoke very fast, and I had a hard time understanding everything he was trying to explain. But he was very eager, very nice, and very excited about us trying different foods. As it was Chinese New Year's week when we went in, he told us to try their special New Year's soup and that he was really really good. In fact, he was saying this to everyone who came in. The soup was about $13, but not big like a bowl of pho. It came in the medium size bowl, clear broth, with a bunch of mini dumplings inside. It's really not something that I would normally order, especially after ordering two orders of dumplings, but I must say the taste was pretty good. Would I have it again? I will have to remember not to get pushed over by the nice enthusiastic server.Since we didn't know, this was a sushi place going in. I had no sushi and don't necessarily think I will. I hope they figure out their identity and stick to one thing. So far, I am happy with their dumplings and their fried rice noodle.

SUSHI BOAT!!!Back home for the holidays and took two of my best friends out for lunch. Decided on Yamato because it was close to the gym after a good workout and offered all you can eat from the lunch menu. I was really surprised and pleased to see a variety of specialty rolls as well as entrées and appetizers you could order with no additional cost and included with all you can eat.The service was great. Although they spoke broken English everything came out perfect and I had no problems with speed or refills so that was refreshing. The seafood was great for Midwest. I'm originally from Arizona where the seafood is a little fresher and can taste the difference slightly. The all you can eat is the Way to go, we demolishEd about 20 different rolls all for $60

My husband and I wanted to try something out of our normal weekly dinner dine-ins and after searching for a restaurant, we came across Yamato Sushi House on Bluemound. It is tucked away in the back corner of a small plaza. The layout was quite nice and very roomy. We were the only customers in the restaurant and later came another individual towards the end of our meal, so it was extremely quiet. There wasn't any music or anything so that made it even more quiet. When we entered, we weren't greeted. The male who (I assume) worked the front desk came and just stared at us. I asked for a table for two. We were seated at the very first booth - he handed us the menu and didn't go over anything with us at all. (It was our first time there so we weren't sure if there were any specials, etc.) Along with the menu, there were sheets of paper and after taking a look at the paper, it appears they offer "All You Can Eat Sushi".After a good five minutes the gentleman came back and mumbled some words - which I assumed he had asked what we wanted to drink. With a blank look on our faces, we just asked for water. After receiving our waters, we asked if we could order. Without any words, he brought out his notepad and took our order (Sushi for two and a Volcano Roll). The food didn't take long to get to us since we were the only customers there. However, while eating; we heard a tiny clipping noise and noticed that the gentleman was sitting behind the front desk/bar clipping his nails. It was quite unpleasant, unsanitary and unprofessional. Our food was GREAT! The sushi rice was cooked perfectly - we've been to places that had either too hard or old rice and it just ruins the whole point of sushi. So good job on the food! The only thing that really confused us was that our sushi for two entree did not come with soup and salad like most restaurants. The gentleman never came back to ask how we were doing so we couldn't ask him if we were missing those. Unfortunately, we have decided it is not worth our return since the service was very unwelcoming and mind you, the NAIL CLIPPING was the biggest issue of our first-time dining there. The place seemed to be semi-maintained. There were stains on the wall and tables were a bit sticky - and don't forget the little fruit flies that kept bothering us as well.We quickly ate, paid and left. If the staff/s had better manners and professionalism, I think this place would go far. It all makes sense as to why we were the only customers during the normal dinner rush. One star for good food.

What a bummer. The only thing they had going for them was that the sushi was all you can eat. With that gone the sushi isn't worth the price at all. Will not be back unless all you can eat returns, good luck.

This is a favorite of my grandchildren. It doesn't look like much from the outside but once in the atmosphere changes. The food was delicious and so was the service. We have returned for birthday gatherings per request of my grandkids.

I ordered carry out from here because I was craving sushi. I tried the Haru Maki spring rolls, stuffed with crab and vegetables. They were fine, but it could honestly have been anything inside the roll. They were non-de script.I also ordered a sweet potato roll and it suffered from the transit time. They were not crispy or distinct. The futomaki was good, well balanced with freshness and crunch. The Dynamite Roll was the star of the show - crab meat, avocado, crunch, spicy mayonnaise topped with lobster. It was fresh, rich and savory with plenty of crunch. I'd eat this any day, happily.Overall, this was a mixed bag, but most items were fine. They just didn't knock my socks off.

I ordered sushi for delivery and am very dissatisfied. The salad looks a day old and the dressing looks like it was used...only a quarter cup fill and just doesn't look right. I also asked for extra soy sauce...and they gave me none. The sushi..not good either, it's definitely not fresh.
