Local Business, best place for meat! Friendly family operation always supporting the community. Their bacon is the best!

A quick update: Wyttenbach's is still an excellent meat market, but the restaurant side of the building is now called Mason's. The meats from Wyttenbach's are still as great as ever. Yet for some weird reason I don't like Mason's quite as much now that it is a separate entity despite the fact that the quality is more or less unchanged.

By far the best meat selection in the Sauk Prairie area. Ginny and Fritz are long time community members and have worked hard to provide a high quality meat market over the past 10+ years. If you're looking for something wonderful to cook on the grill tonight or you want to just get the highest quality meat available (Beef, Pork, Poultry, Fish) Wyttenbach's is your place. They also make a variety of sausages, snack sticks and a pulled pork and pork sandwich meat (for graduation parties etc.) that makes most folks hungry just thinking about it.

I've lived in a lot of places and frequented a lot of meat markets/butcher shops, this one is clearly the worst. The meats are fine but nothing spectacular; conventionally raised and same as anywhere else. The service, on the other hand, is absolutely pathetic and irritating. I've been here 4-5 times and have always encountered the same 60 something woman working behind the counter; I just assumed she's related to the business or else the HR person their has been asleep for sometime. Not only does this woman act like she is being put out and doing you a favor by acknowledging you, but then refuses to do the types of things that EVERY OTHER meat market would do. I asked to have a ridiculously large, cheap steak cut in half and before I could even finish speaking "NO, I don't do that". "You don't cut meat.....at a meat market?" "No, I don't do that......and the butcher is gone anyway". Okay, so you aren't allowed to operate a knife? Do you need to talk to me like an asshole? I don't think so. Either way, this place is always dead when I drive by and I understand why. I drive to Baraboo; they have a great meat market and will do absolutely anything you ask of them with a smile and a great attitude, plus they have 5 times the inventory. Don't waste your time here. If I'm in a pinch, I'll buy crappy grocery store meat before I ever gives these people another dime. The way you treat people is the number 1 thing you "sell"; you guys suck and you failed.

I went to Wyttenbach Meats for the first time today, because I prefer purchasing meat from local butchers. I was extremely disappointed that I was the only person wearing a mask (all 4 employees were unmasked as well as all customers) and they are selling signs that say "we stand with the cross and kneel for their flag." They also have several thin blue line flags flying in their parking area. Needless to say, they have made their political views clear and I felt incredibly unwelcome.I don't care how good their meats are, I won't be spending my money here again.

I've started going to Prem Meats in Spring Green, as their store hours are more convenient. Wyttenbach closes at 2pm on Saturday and they are CLOSED all day on Sunday.
