Besides having a fancy selection of cheese wheels and cheese curds, they also have cute souvenir items like this cow mug! Also cheese hats and magnets.

Came in here to get some souvenirs to take home. The selection did not disappoint. The cheese whips and cheese curds were a huge hit. Everyone wanted more! Friendly and helpful staff

Great little spot for great cheese. several samples to taste. We even got a cooler bag with an ice block for our 5 hour trip home.

You want cheese samples while in downtown Madison?! This is your spot!! I love their selection and always want to stop in for their new cheeses when walking downtown. My favorite is their sharp cheddar :-) Quick service and great prices, can't beat it! Next time you have visitors of guests in Madison, or visiting yourself be sure to stop in for local Wisconsin cheeses!

This place has an amazing selection of cheese!! I was here for the cheese curds and it did not disappoint. I also got a cute little cooler for spending over a certain amount of money. I thought that was so cute. They also had 4 cheese samplers out for you to try. I got a couple different flavors and was surprised how much I loved the Dill & Garlic and Mango Habanero (spicy) flavors! Their prices are great too!

Wisconsin Cheese mart is a local spot in downtown Madison that offers unique flavors of local cheese and savory smoked meats. When walking downtown, I usually always stop by with friends to check out the new cheeses that are available. Wisconsin Cheese Mart offers a good selection of mostly individual portioned cheeses and offers free samples of their season cheeses. The store is pretty small and there's not indoor seating. I like the aesthetic of the store and the cashier is very nice. Check out Wisconsin Cheese Mart if you have a dairy craving or want to up your cheese game.

Tourist gifts for the I need a cheese trinket person (do those exist?) The cashier was very knowledgeable and made on point recommendations. It was nicely set up and cute. If you are in the area for a show or whatever it is worth a stop but it is small.

I'm really sorry to be leaving a bad review, but I hope the business will see this and address it so that they don't lose other future customers. The day I went in was a nice day and the door was open, so fresh air. Nice! However, within moments I was overtaken by the smell of a cleaning agent: Fabuloso. It was horrible. It definately took away my appetite, gave me a headache and made me nauseous and I wondered what it was doing to the cheese sitting out uncovered in the bowls.I wish food places would educate themselves about the proper cleaning solutions that are safe to use around food AND don't have caustic chemicals. It's becoming a real problem. People think just because something is sold in a store, that it's safe. Of that if they like the smell, everyone else will too. It doesn't work that way. In fact, I wonder if there are standards the public health department has around the types of cleaning solutions food establishments can use. It's a problem that hasn't always existed, but is cropping up more and more. I hate to have to leave an establishment because of it. I wonder how many others do too.

I went to the Cheese Mart on State Street in Madison. Unfortunately, the generous sampling I was expecting was non existent, I say this based on a previous. The first time I visited, there were probably 9 different these to sample on the sample table. On the first visit, I enjoyed the aged cheese. The 5 year sample was great.. This time was not such a moving experience. There were only two bowls on the sample table, and they were emply. I did purchase a few blocks of cheese, but that was because I had the experience prior. The cheese is good, as you might notice someone"ahem" already busted the wrapper and cut into my Smoked Cheddar Cheese block. The mart is a cute shop, but the proprietor might have a higher conversation rate if customers entering the store were able to actually sample more of the cheese .
